The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 9

I am amazed that I only have 146 pages to catch up on! I expected a lot more. Can someone let me know anything important that has happened as I just don't think I will have the time to catch up. I have been thinking of all of you hoping all is well.

We had a good trip but with an active 2yr old it was exhausting. Eric also ended up with a horrible sinus infection that sidelined him last Tuesday and Wednesday. We are happy to be home. I will work on getting some pics posted of Pal Mickey and his adventures. I have a splitting headache and the fireworks the neighbor is setting off is not helping. I am headed to bed as I know Mo will be up early tomorrow morning!

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY DDA!

Deb,
If no one else has found one for you, I found Doc today. He's not in a bag because he was the display but he's in good condition.

Sorry Denise, no Maters.

Thank you for the birthday wishes. We just got home from seeing Cars again and I'm tired so I'm spending the rest of the evening in bed catching up on the thread from the last few days.

ETA: Oh my! I have 45 pages to respond to

I was just about to post a request for Doc as I check our McDonalds today and they had all 3 Ramone's and Flo, but nothing else. I would love the whole set. Colby has been playing with them on his race car rug and we will put them on his shelf as part of the decor when not in use. Please PM me whatever I owe you. If anyone needs Ramone (any color) or Flo I'd be happy to run out tomorrow to get one.

Does anyone know how far in advance you can purchase airfare? Our trip is getting to the one year out mark and I want to start watching for reasonable airfare as early as possible. If we can't find inexpensive airfare we will end up driving, so starting early isn't a bad idea.

Today ended up being a good day for me. I had a bunch of errands to run this morning and on my travels I drove by one of my old high school friend's parents house and saw an unfamiliar car in the drive. I could tell what state the plates were from and thought they might be NH, but decided to call on a whim to see if my friend might be in town. She was!!! We have lost touch and I haven't seen or spoken to her in 5 or 6 years. She was free this afternoon so she joined the boys and me at my parent's pool. We talked for about 5 hours and got caught up on each other's lives. She lives in Akron, PA. They have also received a lot of rain recently. It was nice to see her again and so unexpected.

Trip Report continued:

Monday afternoon flew by with more activities. I played horseshoes with Nick in a Parent/child tournament. Nick had never played before so needless to say we didn't do well. Chris left around 5:30 PM for his long boring ride home. We ate at some point then sent Nick and Hunter off on a games cruise. They have a large party barge with an upper level observation deck that they hold daily cruises on. The game cruise was for 9-11 yr olds. They played 4 square, twister and some other games for the 2 hours that they were out. Colby fell asleep and I walked back to get the boys. Nick said it was a bit scary out on the dark lake until 10:30 PM, but overall they had fun. Chris had called around 9 PM to let me know that he made it home safely. All in all a good day. We had a lot of rain, but it was light enough to still do stuff in and we were exhausted. Everyone slept fairly well that night.

Hello DDA! i got out of work at 12 today instead of 4, which was nice!!

Now, my exciting news for the day!! Since i got out of work early, i met up with my dad and brother to do some errands..We went to the firehouse, where i was told Alex was awake!!! After that, we went to the hospital. They said he was sleeping and my brother and dad went in...After that was my turn. I went in with my dad, and we were in for less than 5 minutes. While we were there, he twitched his leg. I saw his eyes open a tiny bit, and then he opened them all the way and left them open! He looked right at me and you could see his lips moving, as if he were trying to talk or kiss me hello. He lifted up his hand off the bed and my dad held his hand and Alex was squeezing. When my dad let his hand go, he reached for my hand. I held on and squeezed and smiled at him. He squeezed back pretty hard!!
So he is not out of the woods yet at all, but this is a great improvment!!! I was thrilled seeing him respond to me like that--Please keep the prayers coming--THEY ARE WORKING!! thanks!

Your pictures turned out really good Becky. Did you use a tripod? What camera setting did you use?
No tripod, but I have one just don't use it often but I should. I was playing around with settings, I took some on auto, others were night mode and some were on the P or S mode with the ISO at 100, 200, or 400. I was playing because I want to take better firework pictures at WDW. I have been playing more and more with my camera because I want to improve my picture taking abilities it is always something that has interested me.

Check this out for more firework photo tips:

Hi Tammi,
So you see, for me, I had to have the BAB Mickey and Minnie :smickey: :mickeyjum and because I have a BABW store close to me, I had her send the skins unstuffed, so I could go to workshop and stuff them myself. That was a mistake, because the other kids couldn't buy one there and they were sad.

But the employees at the store got a real kick out of it and made sure to get my numbers so the Florida Mall could register my M&M and send me their birth certificates and all... :dance3: :dance3:

Steffy,
Hmmm...Did you go to Park City Mall??? That is the closest BAB to me and most likely where I would go to stuff my Minnie and Mickey.

Now I wonder if I should have mine stuffed when they are bought as I don't want to upset any children that they can't buy one at the store myself. Although I would like to stuff them myself. What to do?? What to do?

Although since by the time I get them Pooh should be for sale perhaps it won't be such an issue or maybe it will be more of an issue. :confused3 :confused3

I guess I must really think about this now. :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: I can't believe I am agnoizing over whether or not I should stuff my own Minnie and Mickey BAB or have someone else stuff them for me.

I guess I always had this image of a quiet little girl who sat and played with Barbies and never yelled or ran around and broke their bones. Than again I( could just be imagining things as I don't have a girl. :rolleyes1

I always figured I would have girl like that since it is so not me. Luckily, mine can give the boys a run for their money most days. And quiet she is not, but then she is her mother's daughter. Growning up, my mom used to tell me that my "mouth runneth over." :teeth:

It sounds like you have the house of my dreams! I will never be able to get Alan to the point where he would be comfortable in an all Disney house! I do keep adding small things, and so far he hasn't complained. Someday!

It is fun. I love being surrounded by all things Disney. It calms me. I have to keep it down to a low roar at work though.... :wizard: :wizard:

Usually I get bitten all summer long, no matter how much bug spray I use. This last month, when we get camping, I was dreading the bug bites. Mine usually swell up to the size of half dollars. Anyway, we were there one whole week, the mosquitoes were out in force, and I came home with zero bug bites!!! I mentioned it to my brother in law, and he asked if I was upping my intake of B vitamins. Since my surgery I have to take a B-12 supplement each day. He told me that bugs hate increased B vitamins, and that is most likely why they left me alone. I don't know if it's true or not, but I didn't have one bite! From now on, I'm going to have my kids take a supplement too.
I've tried various different things such as that including garlic and other pill type things, sorry I don't remeber all the different things I tried. I would spend entire summers at camp and look like I had chicken pox because I had so many bites and such a reaction to them. I coated myself in hydrocortisone cream and would take Benadryl to try and reduce the reaction but I never found anything that truly worked to prevent them from biting me.

Not sure if I tried Vitamin B or not but I might have to try it because I get bitten and react to them. Thanks for the tip.

Who says it has to be a dull roar at work? And, where is the picture, poster the Big Boss gave you? I thought you were going to hang it in your office. :rotfl:
Everyone knows what a Disney fan you are, you could get away with putting more Disney things out :lmao: :lmao:

Becky,

Go ahead and stuff them yourself. The employees at Park City were wonderful. Couldn't have been nicer.

I think my DD just wanted me to feel guilty because I didn't give my bears to her kids! Hey, they are my bears!!!

We are at the beach and have a wireless network we seem to be able to access! The weather is gorgeous and I took this picture from one of our decks early this morning. I probably won't read much but will post any wonderful shots I get. I miss you all and we have been talking about you the past two days! :rotfl:

How beautiful!! I have always wanted to visit the Outer Banks. Someday.... :cloud9:

Hi, Tia - how's work today? You don't have to work tomorrow, do you? I hope not!

My office is dead - I can't believe I had 5 people start work today. I told them to oh so quietly slip out once they were done with their computer training this afternoon (so I can leave, too!).

It was SO slow! I saw only two people all day as everyone on my floor was out. Unfortunately, I had server issues all day Friday so I had a lot of email to catch up on. I did end up leaving early since it was so dead. I just wish I could have skipped the whole thing though.
