The daughter was released from the hospital Thursday and actually spent 1.5 hours just sitting next to her dad in his ICU room. She will have to limit her activity for 6-8 weeks due to the lacerated spleen. The niece is doing good and has been out of the hospital. Alex had surgery to put a trach in on Thursday-I have heard he is becoming more responsive by squeezing hands, moving his fingers and hands . i even saw him move a foot when i went in. His wife has seen him open his eyes for a second as well. He has a very long road ahead of him and they are still calling him in critical condition-We are just watching and waiting now..Thanks for asking!

Prayers & pixiedust: continuing for him and his family!

Vicki-

How about I send it to you and you decide? We decided that if you wanted to keep that first Barbie thing I sent that would be fine too!!

From various windows around the house, I can see - count them -- ELEVEN different fireworks displays going on right now!

Pretty cool, except that Kyle is trying to sleep! :rotfl:

It's like CircleVision here though! :thumbsup2

I would be in heaven!!!

Jen-

I wrote this(okay not this exactly but you get the drift) a couple of weeks ago for somebody else but I think we all need to be reminded:

The best part of this group, thread, is that we are family. If we need to vent, laugh, cry or crow, there is always somebody on here to pray, laugh, cry, rejoice with us. We are better than family because we have honored each other with choosing to come to tell this group with lots of our daily "stuff". So come vent and somebody will always be here to lift you up!!

I would love the view of the fireworks!!! Growing up I just figured everybody was wishing me 'happy birthday' a week early.

Hope they don't wake Kyle up and poor Nick!!

Build-a-Bear Workshops will have Build-a-Pooh in celebration of the cuddly old bear's 80th birthday. Pooh will be available beginning July 7th!

I need to get out more.....

I went to the mall. I haven't been in a while. The floors are pulled up. The ceilings are exposed. Some of the stores are closed. There is a new stand that sells Crocs!!!

I went to the mall to stuff my Mickey and Minnie BABs. Yes, I bought them...

THey are beyond cute. I'm hugging them at the BABW and my DD says please put them in the box to take them home. Now I know that she thinks I'm too far over the top with my Disney obsession, but I coulnd't understand why she wanted me to hide my bears.. :confused3 :confused3

Then she said, Mom.. look at all the kids. They are asking about the bears. Can't get them here. Can't get them online. And you are standing here hugging these bears. So I put them in a box and dashed home and now they are on my bed... Love them...

I think the kids may be going to their first BAB event after they get home from their grandparents. Are Minnie and Mickey still available too? I'd love to make one of each for them!
They're only available at the BAB in DTD at DL or the one in Orlando. I am going to DL in a week though and have offered to pick up the skins (so people can stuff them themselves at their local one) or stuff them for people who don't have a local BAB. Anyone who wants a set or more can PM me. :goodvibes

Will there be a double wedding ceremony now before our cruise???? :teeth:

Hey Glynis

was Jamin there? and did you tell him you have some girlfriends who want to have lunch with him? ;)

Nope, no Jamin! Sad, huh! It would have been nice to see him again. Maybe someday! And if it ever happens, I'll be sure to give y'all plenty of time to get out here for lunch! :thumbsup2

I can't believe it! I'm all caught up! You don't know how good it feels to be all caught up with the events of my DDA family! I really missed you all while I was gone.

Our trip to Cedar City was a lot of fun, well for me and the kids at least. Poor Alan had to work the whole time. He videotapes the plays for the Festival for archival purposes, and then does stories for the news station. So, it wasn't very relaxing for him.

The first few days we just spent time with my mom relaxing and playing in the yard. My kids love to run through the sprinkler! In the evenings, we would go to dress rehearsals for the plays and enjoy the pleasant weather. The plays look to be really good this year. There are 2 theaters, one indoor theater and one outdoor (it's a replica of the Globe theater. It's so authentic, that the BBC used it to film part of one of Shakespeare's plays). Each theater shows 3 plays in repertory. Indoors are On Golden Pond (I bawled through this one. So good!), Room Service (zany, crazy Marx brothers inspired), and H.M.S. Pinafore. My father is performing in this one as Sir Joseph Porter. If you are familiar with Gilbert and Sullivan, you will know he's the bumbling old fool. Typecasting my dad says. It's a darling show, and my older 2 kids loved it. Of course, seeing grandpa singing and dancing was worth the price of admission alone. In the outside theater the plays are The Merry Wives of Windsor, Hamlet and Antony and Cleopatra. I only got to see Merry Wives, but I loved it! Very fun!

On the 26th there was a reception before the statue unveiling and that was so much fun! So many people were there to honor my dad. I was so touched. People from all over the country and world were there. It's amazing to think how many people my father has touched and inspired. The statue itself is pretty amazing! It is a very nice honor for my dad! All of my siblings were there, and they asked us to do the unveiling. Talk about emotional!

I do have some pictures, so I'm off to upload them to my photobucket account and then I'll post them.

Thanks for letting me know I was missed! I thought about you guys all the time I was gone!

That is so wonderful. I'll have to check out the website that others mentioned. I can't wait to see some of your pictures.

Those firework displays are scaring the crap out of my little boy!!!!!!

Poor Nick. Here's some pixiedust: that he calms down soon!

Well, you'll all have to wait another day for my pictures (boo hoo, I know). I just realized what time it is here, and I still have to cut out some craft foam since my kids are making the flag project in this month's Family Fun magazine for our Family Home Evening tomorrow. Hope I get them all done. I'll post pics of them when they're done (if they turn out, that is).

Nighty night, all!

I love the bedspread & pillows!!!! Didn't notice that when you sent me the preview. You are Mickey obsessed, aren't you??!! :lmao: I don't think Chuck would let me get away with that. But maybe when I have a guest room, I can make it Disney themed.

In case I forget to say this tomorrow, I will be gone from tomorrow late morning until Tuesday evening. I'll be going to my mothers. I may be able to get online (she has dialup) but I probably won't. My sister and her two kids with her boyfriend and his four kids are visiting my mother. They were to arrive tonight. Becky is there now and Chuck and I will be joining them. So this is my official notice that I'll probably be gone for two days!!!!!

Fanstasmic is also really cool on the Rivers of America!
I have to agree. We loved the DL Fantasmic over MGM. The Columbia with Peter Pan scene was so cool according to my boys. :)

Sounds like a plan to me. So then we have Mr. Toad's vehicle for DL, Goofy statue for WDW and your favorite Disney character in either place!

Christy, hear that. We need a picture of you on Mr. Toad's ride at DL when you are there.
I already have a pic. of the boys on it from December but I don't know anything on how to post pics. :confused3

Sorry for spelling your name wrong earlier. I see that you spell it Christi. Now, they are thinking about the grotto instead? Check with Glynis before you go to find out what the final answer is.

ETA: We want a picture with you in it too!!! I'm putting mine in my DDA scrapbook.

As far as posting pictures, do you have a photobucket account? If not, you can go to www.photobucket.com and get an account. Once you have that, you can upload pictures to their site. If you are interested, let me know when you've done that and I'll tell you how to get them here. It is just a quick copy & paste if you have them in photobucket.
