Who you callin old Vicki??????? I hated that stuff when we had to use it in school! What a mess.

The sand painting sounds like something fun though.

I remember Robert could state all sorts of baseball facts when we met him.

Vicki and Theresa, I love listening to you all reminisce. I think that it is great that you 2 found one another again!

But I just realized that I won't be able to replace my golden ears antenna topper. :earseek: :earseek:

I can look in August to see if there are still some around.

Okay my dentist takes one look at my tooth does some other test and says yes it must come out. but it iss a sideways impaction so it will not come out in one piece and as your a red head I am not sure I can get you numb enough. so he sends me to an oral surgeon. who then sechudles an appointment for 8:45 friday morn. the cough and shortness of breath has not gotten better. the stuff i am coughing up has color now. so I called in to work for tomorrow and will see my primary Dr some time tomorrow.
I am diaspointed as I was supposed to go to Port Aransas this weekend for my cousins baby shower.

That's what I was asking......what does having red hair have to do with how numb you become???? That would have been my first question for the dentist. I understood the part about your tooth being at an angle. :)

I have heard this before, so I went looking a little. From Answers.com:

The genetics of red hair is now being uncovered, together with connections between red hair and melanoma, skin disorders in general, and different reactions to anaesthesia. There is evidence for genetic linkage of eye color with other hair colors such as brown hair, but MC1R is not linked to eye color.
...
Redheads are more susceptible to thermal pain. In people with red hair, the cells that produce skin and hair pigment have a dysfunctional melanocortin 1 receptor. Edwin Liem (researcher at the Outcomes Research Institute of the University of Louisville, US) says this dysfunction triggers the release of more of the hormone that stimulates these cells, but this hormone also stimulates a brain receptor related to pain sensitivity.[3] Researchers have found that redheads require greater amounts of anesthesia, but other research shows that women with naturally red hair require less of the painkiller pentazocine than do either women of other hair colors or men of any hair color.

I was almost 2 years behind in getting my photos into an album. I have been putting it off & finally today I sat down & put in 2 years of pictures with captions into my album. It was pouring today so it was a good excuse to get this done. I can't believe I let it go that long. The photos were all over the house so organizing them was a pain but now I am up to date! While I was looking at the pictures I realized how much my kids have changed in just one year....

I like the new million dreams..I guess I have to work on convincing my DH to go to Disney again in 2007! ;)

:Pinkbounc :bounce: Way to Go! :bounce: :Pinkbounc
Want to come catch me up? :teeth:

Ok, Becky needs some pixiedust tomorrow. She is taking her drivers test to get her real license. She just wasn't ready before but the last couple of months has really wanted to drive and has done so every chance she could. The only thing I'm really worried about is the parallel parking. We don't have much of that here so it is hard to practice. We'll be spending a few hours practicing in the morning. I'll set some stakes up in the driveway. She spent 1/2 hour just driving down and backing up our driveway getting used to the feel of backing up. It was amazing how much she improved in just that 1/2 hour. There is a selfish side of me that hopes she won't pass but then the real mom side wants her to accomplish this!!!!!

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: for Becky! I don't think that I've paralled parked since I took my road test (almost 26 years ago). I am quite positive that I couldn't do it now! I guess I'll be learning again next year as dh and I teach our "baby" to drive.

Today was an exhausting day. Poor Alyssa has a diaper rash, so she was rather cranky and I spent most of the day cleaning, which makes me cranky too. At 1:30 p.m. Remax called to ask if a realtor could show the house in an hour. As much as I hated saying it, I had to say no...first, Alyssa would be napping and second, I was still trying to get the house looking decent. When I told Kevin later that I said no, he wasn't too pleased, but for crying out loud, an hour's notice?!!!

So, around 5:30 p.m. I'm making dinner (the showing wasn't until 8:15 p.m. so there was plenty of time to do this) and the phone rings. Remax again...someone wants to see the house now. In fact, they are parked next door waiting for the okay! So, Kevin says fine, but please understand the animals are here, I'm making dinner, etc. The realtor was very nice and he spoke highly of the house as he walked through. They must have been out looking at other houses and decided to stop by. The man he was showing around spoke no English, and we heard the realtor speaking Spanish to him throughout their tour.

Okay, so we eat dinner, and I vacuum one more time. We lock Lucy (evil cat)up in her cage, Kevin takes Libby (dog) to the new house, and I take Alyssa to Home Depot. On my way home, I drive by at 8:35 p.m. and there's no one in the driveway. I call Kevin and tell him I'm just going to get Alyssa ready for bed. He comes home about 10 minutes later. At 8:55 p.m. the doorbell rings!!! They were very apologetic for being so late. This time it was a young woman who works at Children's Hospital. She took lots of pictures. This realtor was very nice and complimentary too. They left around 9:15 p.m. and now here I am, telling you my saga!

Though I hope the house sells ASAP, it will be nice to be all moved in to our new house and not have to worry about these showings! Whew, what a day!

Amy, Hope Alyssa's diaper rash clears up. The last walk through sounds very promising!

We went to Home Depot last Saturday morning for their Kids Crafts program. Apparently they do it the first Saturday of each month. Kids can build projects. They supply the projects, tools and instructions. The best part was that it was completely free. These are the projects that my kids did.
Deb

My DH works for Home Depot and he is in charge of the Kids Workshop for his store. He always looks forward to those Saturdays. He is just a big kid anyway and Home Depot only feeds that addiction of being a kid. My DD gave me a plaque for Mothers Day one year that says "When I die bury me at Home Depot so my Husband will visit me". For our family that is so true. Between working there and shopping there he is ALWAYS there.

Are you sure parallel parking is on the exam...it was not for Jonathan..and it was not for me when I took it MANY years ago...

Boy I wish it wasn't! They gave us a road skills test study guide and there are three skills they have to do before they get on the road. Pulling straight into a parking space, backing up into a parking space from a 90 degree angle & parallel parking.

Lucky you! That is what I failed my test on, I hated parallel parking! When I took our test we had to be 6-12 inches from the curb and finished in under 3 minutes. Well I did the test fine up until that point. I pulled the car into the spot and was 5 and 3/4 from the curb. Would not let that pass. So I had to retry it and then I ran out of time! Once you fail you have to wait 3 days! I was so frustrated and started crying! That damn officer told me to stop crying and keep practicing. ***! It wasn't like I was 20 feet from the curb. I was a freaking 1/4" off!

Good morning DDA. I am off to the doctor this morning to get my stitches out and see how the knee is coming along. Then I get to go to physical therapy so they can torture me for an hour. LOL. Actually besides the soreness it is moving quite nicely.

Hope eveyone has a great day with lots of suprises. Nice ones that is. LOL.
Can you tell I am on pain medication. LOL
