Just got back from soccer practice. Now I am headed to a jewelry party at my girlfriends house. Will try to check in and catch up before bed. TGIF!

Please pray for Phil right now. I don't know what is going on as I'm at work, but he sounds like he is on the verge of a total breakdown. It is being caused in part because some combination of the high calcium and Vitamin D they had him taking has been keeping him so drowsy for over a week that he can barely function. Now he seems to have come to the end of his rope over these feelings. Luckily, he is of good enough mind that he has made an appointment for this afternoon with a psychologist. For now, I just need him to get himself and Terra into the city and to me safely. He won't be driving so there isn't a danger there, but they can get to me faster than I can get to them and I think time is of the essence as too relieve as much stress as possible as soon as possible. He has asked me to go to the doctor with him so hopefully I can help convey what has been going on lately if he can't. Thank you for any prayers and pixie dust you can spare as this is all a little scary.
Tia, I hope there's an update posted but you have my prayers. I hope everything is OK.

Hey everyone! Thanks to my FANTASTIC husband, I had a few minutes to catch up!!

The NCLEX is done at least  I'm pretty torn on it. I mean, I think I passed for one (fairly safe assumption) reason. It cut off at 75 questions. You can most certainly fail in 75 questions, but I'm told it gives you the beneft it of the doubt and lets you keep testing until you REALLY prove you're incompetent if tha'ts the case. Most people that stop at 75 pass. However..... the questions sucked. You know when you get something narrowed down to two choices and guess? Well that was like 70 of the 75 questions :rotfl: It didn't take an hour even though, so that was nice. I'll let you all know when I find out (in the next few days).

As far as the other thing going on, DDA prayers are reigning it in a bit anyway. Continued thoughts would be greatly appreciated, but I feel confident enough to at least tell you what's up, with one thing happening already this morning!

In mid-May ..... we bought a house!!! I didn't mention it here because of all the bumps we hit along the way with the mortgage. I was terrified something else was going to go wrong, so I didn't really want to focus on it much (anymore than I already was IRL). Even until today, we hadn't got a straight answer on our closing information. Pretty much, people are stupid. When we set a closing target date (June 9th), it was suggested by the people involved, knowing darn well about our trip. Now all of a sudden they are freaking out that we won't be accessible up until the day before.... so I'm a little nervous.

We did finally hear this morning that we have an appointment set up for the 9th at 10:00am. My mortgage guy was working his butt off to have everthing finalized a week early (today) so that he would not have to contact us at all during the cruise (and make us spend even more money and time trying to communicate via email). We're still waiting on his call, but I know he's doing his best. And the financing was preapproved, so there shouldn't be any problems... but it will be nice to know it's 100% completed and awaiting our return.

So I'm supposed to have my entire house packed, plus the cruise stuff (and hope they don't get mixed up), plus take this test this morning, take my sister's homeschool team to their Olympic day (which thankfully got rained out and rescheduled  ) so I was pretty much pulling my hair out yesterday.

But while I was gone, Kyle got up early and packed virtually EVERYTHING here for the house!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's great :teeth: So I have a few errands to run, and need to double check the cruise stuff, but then I should be all set.

So if you want to continue praying, just pray that we have no surprises waiting for us when we come back. It's still a little scary knowing that we come back less than 12 hours when we're supposed to meet, and who knows what could happen before then!!!! We're pretty thrilled about the house though.

So that's that. I'll check in again either later tonight or tomorrow morning before we leave. Talk to you then!
I bet you did great on your test. Congratulations on buying a house!

Hope you have a fun and relaxing cruise!

We leave for DL at 5:00 Sunday morning. Our plan is to drive through, stopping in Vegas for lunch and a run into the Disney outlet store, and then on to our hotel. We have ressies at Rainforest Cafe at 7:30 in the evening, so I'm hoping we get there early enough to shop in DD as there are several items I need to pick up. I can't wait!!!!! I'm so excited to be going with Alan and no kids. We did this on our honeymoon, and had such a great time! It will be nice to do it again, now!
Have a great time Glynis!

Jen -- I hope the cruise is fabulous. You and Kyle deserve it. And congrats on "passing the test" (we all know you did) and getting the house. You sly thing you...

Glynis -- have an extraordinary time in DL with your DH. How fun to recreate your honeymoon trip, even if for just a short time.

Everyone else traveling... be safe!

Have a blast!

I've always wanted to go on a cruise but don't know quite what to expect. Not sure Chuck would enjoy it so it has stopped me pursuing it. I need to know what kinds of things are available on board and what kinds of things you do when you dock at the different locations. I also need to know how expensive the extras are on shore. I had told Chuck before that I wanted to go on one for our 25th anniversary which is next year but I'll have to research it more.

Vicki, go and check out cruisecritic.com. You can learn all you ever wanted to know about cruising and some you didn't want to know! I love cruising. You can do as much or as little as you want to do on board, and the same with on shore. You can spend a little or you can spend a lot. Most ships have several dance floors, a pool or two, several bars, a casino, a show room where there is a different show each night, a library, a game room or card room, a jogging/walking track, shuffleboard, ping pong, trivia games, bingo, pool games, lectures, movies, cooking demonstrations, wine tastings, deck parties, karaoke, a piano bar, etc., etc., and etc. Shore excursions can be arranged by the ship, you can arrange your own, or you can just get off the ship, hop in a taxi and take a tour of the island, or go to the nearest beach. Just like planning a Disney trip, half the fun is the research and the planning. There's a ship out there for everyone.

Tee hee!! I knew as soon as I typed it you would "sing" it for me!!

As of the 28th of May "It's a Small World" celebrated it's 40th year at DL and between 4 parks the song is played about 48,000 times a day?

I experienced "It's a Small World" for the first time at the 1964-65 World's Fair in New York. It was even more amazing then, because that type of attraction was so new. It really pulled in the crowds. The lines at any ride at Disney World are nothing compared to those lines!!

Glynis -

I say anytime without the kids seems like a real vacation!!!!!

Ain't that the truth? I think that some time away from them makes me a better mommy. I appreciate them more after being away from them.

I know I will miss you before you go so:

Have an awesome time at Disneyland!!! :bounce:

We expect lots of pic's and stories upon your return!!
Glynis, have a great time at DL. Ride that little storybook boat ride for me. I just love it - miniatures have always been a favorite of mine. I love the Matterhorn, too.

:wizard: :grouphug: I'm so sorry, you must be so worried and being stuck at work, I can't imagine. All of you will definitely be in my prayers. I hope they can find a solution that works for all of your sakes. If you need any specific prayer request or someone to lean on feel free to PM me. Mental illness runs very strong in my family so I have dealt with a whole variety of things with relatives. I hope this afternoon goes well. :wizard:

Thanks. DH and I are going to pick up a new camera tonight, so I should be able to get some really good pictures. Can't wait!
I hope you have a terrific time. Do you know what kind of camera you are getting?

I posted this on the resort board. Any opinions or advice?

We are trying to decide if we want to downgrade to a Mod or Value for our Sept Free Dining Trip and save lots of money. Obviously I need to make any changes by tomorrow. We are a family of 5. We can get 2 rooms at ASMu or 1 room in POR AB (with the trundle) for the same price. We would book the preferred rooms at ASMu (Calypso Bldg). Does that building have adjoining rooms?

This is our triplet's 2nd trip. We stayed at the GF in Dec 05. Which one do you think they would enjoy more? Which one is easier with small children? Which one would you choose and why? I know we'd have more room at ASMu. Main thing I'm interested in in the bus service for each, food choices, times to get to parks, ease of getting to other resorts (we have ADRs at the CR, WL, GF, and Poly).

thanks for any help!

I've never stayed at the All-Stars. We stayed at POR last back in 1998 when it was still Dixie Landings. We loved it there and chose it again for our August trip even though we'll be more crowded with a family of 5 than with two rooms. Two bathrooms and two tvs would be a definite plus. I worried about not getting connecting rooms at the All-Stars, POR was a little known to us, and it was a cheaper. We didn't have any problems with the buses, but that was a long time ago. I know that is one of the complaints that I read about POR. If you decide to go with the All-Stars, make sure that you request CONNECTING rooms. I think that adjoining just means next to (or even across from) each other.

It will be a magical trip, I'm sure!

Beth

Denise, I would go with POR. The bus situation at the All Stars gets very hairy. Lots of crowds, a long way from the parks to the stops when you're tired, plus the busses are shared by all three AS. Also, they are much noisier and very "busy" for Rees. I'd go with the quieter, better bus situation POR.
