I was just teasing Kate! :teeth:

Seriously, I hardly got any presents (for the holidays or the end-of-the-year), because there were so many of us! It didn't bother me one bit, because I never expected anything.

Honestly, the greatest gift of all is a thank you note or even a thank you letter that could go in the teacher's file. Those are time-consuming, but basically "free!" :goodvibes

Amy :)

I knew that you were teasing Kate, but I really do feel like the teachers in the middle and high schools should get a sign of appreciation. I guess I could send the cards to the school so that my kids wouldn't have be mortified by giving them to the teachers. I think I'll work on something...I have three weeks left.

Often, each teacher has a school mailbox. You could easily drop them off in the main office and ask them to be passed out for you. :thumbsup2

Wow..new smilies..

This one represents my entire life.

:laundy:

Mine, too! :rotfl:

By the way, I'm glad to see you around here again! When are you going to Disney World in August? Bernadette and I will probably have some overlapping dates. I'd love to get a chance to meet you, too. We'll be there 8/12-8/25 (off-site the first week and POR the second).

Amy :)

The belly looks beautiful and the butt is definitely NOT huge! I missed your other photos somehow. I'll go back and look for them.

Yesterday, Alyssa and I ended up going to the zoo, just the two of us. We were there from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and though it hot, but we had so much fun. We upgraded our zoo pass this summer, so now we get to ride the train and the carrousel. We were the only ones on the carrousel for a while and the guy kept stopping it so Alyssa could switch animals. I'll try to post the pictures later.

We have a new Australian exhibit and the kangaroos are so cute! They are out in the open, but sadly, none of them wanted to come up close and visit. The koala is behind glass, and he was sleeping, so I didn't get a good picture Jennifer. Maybe next time!

Last night, Kevin had a lot of yard work to do, so Alyssa and I met his mom and one of Alyssa's cousins at the park for a couple hours. Needless to say, by the time we got home, I could barely walk from being on my feet so much. I didn't even venture in the basement to turn on the computer! Shocking, I know! :teeth:

Here's lots of :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: and :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: for your headaches, sick kiddos, DH's, and pets, and job interviews and doctor's appointments too. And here's lots of :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: and :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: for all the good news you all have posted too.

I hope everyone has a great day!
Amy :)

P.S. As a former teacher, I truly appreciated gift cards as presents. I know those aren't very "personal," but they are very practical! Restaurant gift cards are always good, in addition to Target and Barnes and Noble.
:teeth: Funny I just posted about that earlier. Hope your feet feel better today. You zoo sounds nice. I love kangaroos and koalas. We saw them in a zoo in TX a couple years ago. The koalas were eating such a cute sight. Of course, now the boys want to see a panda after learning about China this year. Probably not anytime soon as I don't think there are very many zoos with them. :confused3

Well, I'm done with the DDA for the night. I cooked dinner (steaks on the grill AKA barbeque) and Bob has YET to clean up the kitchen..which is just dishes from dinner...normally an unwritten rule that whoever cooks the other does the dishes...looks like it's all me again tonight! After that, off to do laundry. :laundy: :teeth: That's cool!

I would love to see a panda too! :)

Kate, the teacher gifts were wonderful! Glad they were a hit!

Cute pics, Amy!

I'm jealous of Jen and her cruise. ;)

I gotta go do some things. I'll check back in before bed.
