Ok, I am a litle slow in checking this out, but I saw a lady at Animal Kingdom while we were there the other week, and her shirt said Kate on the back in Minnie ears, and the front said something about "watch out we are taking over the World" Immediately I wondered if it was THE Kate. Today, two weeks later I finally checked Kate's designs, and they were definetely hers. So Kate, was that you at Animal Kindgom, near Expedition Everest on the 19th around 10AM?

Hi Chanon. It sounds like a fun day. Nicholas got a little pink today too, and I've been slathering him with aloe. But I never thought about the fridge first. I'll have to try that.
:wizard: for Nicholas' sunburn hope it feels better.

I too would like to give my sincere gratitude those people that have put and continue to put their lives on the line to protect ours. We would not be the people we are today without each of you. Thank you.

I got to sleep in this morning. It was a nice change. We had some rain this morning so we didn't get outside too early. I ended up running to Joann's and picked up some beading and fabric to throw together costumes for our Mardi Gras Camping trip. I got home and managed to put Colby down for his nap without falling asleep myself. Usually I'm out before him. I found his behive costume and added colorful Mardi Gras Necklaces and decorated the bees antena's. It isn't great, but it is what Colby wants. We decided to have Nick wear his warewolf costume as it has that metalic gold shirt. We'll dress it up with beads and other jewel toned accessories. I need to have someone make me a cd of "Billy's got his Beer Goggles On" and "Tequilla makes her clothes fall off" as I'm making Chris some beer goggles to go with his lampshade hat and I'm planning to wear a tablecloth. I thought it would be pretty funny to have those two songs playing. Our neighbor is a country radio dj so I'm sure I can get him to put those songs on a cd for me. Hunter doesn't want to dress up :confused3 Last year I had to make costumes out of stuff in the camper as he decided at the last minute to dress up.

Mid afternoon, Chris and I washed the outside of our camper. It took 3 + hours to do, but really looks nice. We determined that we need to re chaulk all the seams as they are drying out and cracking. Just another project to add to the growing list. We then had a Memorial Day BBQ next door at my Brother's house. We each made a few dishes and had way too much food. My Mom brought her croquet set so we taught the kids how to play. It was fun. Chris and I also spent a good hour brushing all the loose hair off Tuffy. He looks much better, but I could spend another hour and he would still be shedding. Just walking around with us really made him lame and he had difficulty walking back home. Hopefully he will be ok tomorrow. It is so sad, but I fear it may be the last big family function that he gets to join us for :sad2: We came home, I cut Chris's hair and planted a few more flowers in pots out front. Everyone is in bed now except me as I had to get my DIS fix. I hope everyone else had an enjoyable day.

Deb
Love the costume ideas for Mardi Gras. You are really creative. :)

How did it go from cold to too damn hot in two weeks?!?! I slept late and then went outside to plant flowers and the kids played in their little pool = I was wiped out by the time we were done

then we went to my parents for a cookout and the kids played on their slip n slide - we had a nice afternoon but I really wish it weren't so stinking hot here!!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Deb -I don't remember how long it took to get my cards - it can't hurt to call

Amy - I hope your showing went well this weekend and you have good news to report

Denise - I hope Rees is doing well and that you are feeling better too!!
How's Nick feeling? I know I get more headaches in the summer due to the heat.

Hi, everybody!

Long time, no talk. I hope everyone had good holidays! Mine was the definition of hectic with a company picnic, but it's over for yet another year - thank goodness! This time next week, I will be sitting on a beach thousands of miles away - with Mickey Andy Mouse by my side! As I told Vicki in a PM earlier tonight, I hope to do some catching up while I'm on vacation (my time is just not my own right now - I have missed all of you a ton!), and will try to give Andy some good, relaxing fun - and maybe a pina colada or two. Has everyone been just posting pics of PM's adventures in the main thread, or have separate threads been started?

I've got to get to bed with another long day ahead of me, but I hope everyone is well. Know that I think of each of you, and pray for you, daily. :grouphug: :wizard:
:wizard: Hope you have a fun relaxing time.

Hi, everyone. I went to the doctor on Friday. Had a sinus infection and bronchitis again. The meds completely wiped me out, but I feel 100% better now.

We had a good weekend. My parents were here. Kids went to the park, played in the sprinkler (two days). On Saturday, we all went to see Over the Hedge. It was really funny! They took the kids to the pool for 4 hours on Sunday so John and I could go see the DaVinci Code. Movie was good, but I liked the book better. Grilled out steaks, had BBQ (twice!), and had a good visit. My mom will fly back in on Sunday and stay until Thursday.

We've got a really busy week. Tonight is Brantley-Kate's ballet recital dress rehearsal, tomorrow they have a swim b'day party, Thursday have a playdate at the park with kids from school, Friday is Rees' doc appt, Sat ballet Recital, Sunday mom comes, and Monday-Wed will be at the hospital. So, I won't be posting much. I will get you an update on Rees as soon as I can. Hope y'all are doing well!
sounds like a lovely visit with your parents. :goodvibes :wizard: Rees will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. Good luck for BK for her recital. Have a fun week.

I had a peaceful morning of house cleaning planned, since the house is realitively cool in the morning, I thought I'd use it to my advantage. That didn't quite work out as planned. I got a call from Hunter at 8:30 AM that he had forgotten his Cub Scout uniform. I had totally forgot that there was a Memorial Day assembly at school at 9 AM and I was supposed to be there. Colby was in a pull up and good thing as he had diaherria, the kind you don't feel coming :furious:. So at 8:30 AM I was in my bathrobe, cleaning up Colby, taking to Hunter on the phone wondering how I would manage getting to school and getting the kids dressed in less than 1/2 hour. Somehow I managed, although I just dunked my head under the faucet and quickly picked out my hair so I'm sure I looked beautiful :guilty: Our school is the only school in Vermont that invites the Veterans into the school for any reason. They took the 7th graders on Friday and went to the cemetary and placed over 500 flags on the graves of Veterans. Today they did most of the Memorial Day Assembly and I'll tell you that I cried over the sacrifices that these men have made to our country. It was very touching. Then they took the scouts outside and propery retired the old flags by burning them. This is a real history lesson and is very touching. I can't believe that patriotism isn't taught in schools these days. Our kids still say the pledge of alligence every morning and sing It's a Grand Old Flag. I remember this from my school days, but they were talking today about how most schools do not allow it anymore. It's too bad because I really feel that it creates better citizens. That got me wondering if other states celebrate Memorial Day in the schools? I'd love to hear what your schools do.

Now I'm off to try to salvage some cleaning time before It becomes opressively hot. Maybe I need to dig some of our air conditioners out.

Deb
:wizard: Hope Colby gets better. I think it's a shame that the schools don't say the pledge of allegiance anymore. It used to be that patriotism and values were upheld in school. Now, they seem to go the opposite. :sad2: I'll stop before I get on a soapbox. :rolleyes1

UGH! We had the same luck :sad2: We just spent almost 2 hours, taking practically every box out of storage, and opening tons of them if they looked promising. I just REALLY wanted to find them, becuase a) I hate spending money on a suit when I have several b) I hate shopping for swimsuits more than I hate studying even and c) I can't justify buying more than one, which means I only have one for the cruise (not near as big a deal, but still sort of annoying. I HATE putting a wet suit back on! )

Oh well! I guess it's shopping for me, probably the day we leave! :rotfl:
Sorry to hear you couldn't find your swimming suits. Maybe they'll still turn up this week.

Hi! Just popping in quickly to say you're all in my thoughts!

We had a very busy, but fun weekend visiting my family...I'll try to post some pictures later this week. This afternoon, we're getting some company: my friend Kelly (the only friend I still keep in touch with from high school), her husband, Steve, and their daughter Morgan (she's two months older than Alyssa). They're coming over for dinner tonight and we'll probably head to the zoo tomorrow (early, since it's so hot!).

We also had two showings while we were gone, but the realtors only left their cards and we haven't heard anything, so hopefully all went well with the cat!

I'm sorry I'm not caught up and I can't comment on anything...hopefully things will settle down soon, but considering we get the new house keys at the end of the week, I don't see that happening for a while!

Here's a big :grouphug: for you all!
Amy :)
Have a fun visit. Hopefully, you get some offers soon.

Hi, just checking in! I have been painting my DH's new home office all morning. I am a messy painter & am basically covered in "stone hearth" :lmao: (it a taupe). Anyway, I haven't logged on since Friday I think so I a haven't had a chance to catch up.

We went to the beach this weekend for the Blue Angels air show. The place was so crowded they closed the entire beach by 12:30pm. (We are ealry birds so we had a nice spot). They were turning people away & allowed some to park on the side of the highway to watch the air show. I didn't apply enough sunscreen so I am crispy-fried today. Hope everyone had a great weekend & I will to catch up later.
Wow, a lot of people getting sunburned this week-end. :confused3 :wizard: Hope it heals quick.

Pork chops
Butter
Large onion
Salt
Pepper
Garlic Powder
2 large cans of Crushed Tomatoes
Mozzarella Cheese (shredded)
Wide Noodles (I use the No Yolks)

I put the salt, pepper and garlic powder on the pork chops.
Than fry them in lots of butter and the onion. (I only fry because my mom and sister don't like the taste of the grill.)

After they are done, I put 1 can of crushed tomatoes in the bottom of a baking pan, add the pork chops and pour the other can over the chops, making sure to cover the chops.

Sprinkle on the Mozzarella cheese, cover and bake at 350º until cheese is melted. Some times I bake a little longer so the chops get real tender.

Just befor the casserole is ready, boil the noodles, when done drain but don't rinse.

Some people place some noodles on their plate and put a chop on top. I put a chop to one side, put some noodles on the other side and scoop out some of the tomatoes and cheese and pour over my noodles.
sounds yummy, :)
