You could say I feel slightly overwhelmed right now!!! I think if I could really figure out what is going on with Nick things wouldn't seem so bad to me - I just feel like something is off with him - he doesn't complain about his head but he seems more lethargic and crabby to me - I tried to schedule his EKG but the doctor forgot to call in the orders and I keep missing her - and now whenever Nick gets in trouble he looks at me and says "me sick" - so I know he has learned the sympathy I give him with those two little words and now I can't tell when he means it and when he just wants my attention - and on top of everything he has turned into a serious Mama's boy and ONLY wants me all of the time!

Steve has a small procedure tomorrow and is under a HUGE amount of pressure at work which of course is spilling into our home - and is not something that he can just leave at the office

and I find out Wednesday if I need surgery -

I have a lot of unknowns in my life - I can deal with things when I know what is going on - it is when I feel helpless that I get upset!

So as for this situation - I emailed her about how things work and told her that until I get a registration form - these people aren't registered in the program and I will not place them until then - which might mean they won't get the slot she promised them b/c I am working on first come first served - I have to do this the way we always have b/c I know it works!! and that is how everyone else is expecting things to be done - and if the new director thinks the other way is better - then they can do it next year - odds are I won't be doing it anyway!

Morning DDA! Just thought I'd stop by and say hello and make sure everyone else is happy that it's a long weekend.
We don't have much planned here, just a baseball game on Monday, hoping it dries out so we can mow the grass tomorrow, and that's about it...
Gonna get some steaks out for the grill, put up the patio umbrella and hope for sunshine ALL weekend. :teeth:

Good morning!

Paula thanks for sharing your pictures, you both look fabulous!

Deb your boys are very handsome :goodvibes

To those going away this weekend have a fun & safe trip :sunny:

Denise I am happy to hear that it may just be Rees gallbladder. I had mine removed years ago after suffering with it for 2 years. It got to where I could not even eat lettuce! :wizard: for Rees & for you. I hope you start feeling better as well. Enjoy the weekend with your parents :goodvibes

Where is Marti & Paul? Hope everything is going well with you! How is the new job going?

I did something yesterday that made me feel really good, but I hope it does not end up biting me in the butt :teeth: I decided to let a friend of Garretts come along with us to Disney on our Oct. trip. He has never been before & they are both excited. Someone please tell me that I am not crazy for taking 3 boys to world by myself

Time to get ready for work, hope everyone has a lovely day :sunny:

Kate -- wow! There are way too many things going on in your life. PD for Steve today for the procedure and for work, and for Nick's medical problems, and for your knee, and for Julia who is watching all of this go on. You were so helpful when we were going through Randy's stressful job search, so I hope this :wizard: helps, and brings you some comfort.

I also hope the VBS director steps in soon and takes care of all of this -- otherwise they will lose a great VBS volunteer and I'm sure they don't want that to happen.

Janet -- you are a nice mom to take an extra with you! I think that is wonderful! Just lay down the rules, stick to them, and you should have a great trip.

I've been missing Marti & Paul as well so sent them both a pm. Marti says they have been extremely busy since the return from their trip. Paul has also started his new job. Marti hopes to get some pictures up for us over the week-end. So it sounded like other than being busy, all is well with them.

That's very cool, but you had us freaked out for a minute there :rotfl:

Very true! Only I didn't think you guys were freaky, I thought I was just nuts! I kept scrolling up to see if someone had double posted, but it was different signatures. So then I'd read the posts again, and scroll up again........ :rotfl:

I'm glad we added some laughter to other people's day! It sure was fun for Theresa & I. Chuck said he was enjoying listening to me laugh last night while I was on the phone with Theresa as we were planning what to say. Did I tell you I have a great husband??!!

ETA: I wonder if he'll enjoy the phone bill when it comes??!! :rotfl2:

I hope you have a very relaxing and fun cruise!!! Where are you going?

Janet I know you asked some time back how Chuck E. Cheese was. Sorry, I keep thinking I'll catch up on posts and never do. Anyway, it wasn't that bad. We were the only ones there for about 1 1/2 hours.

:wizard: if you need it and I missed you.

I failed my glucose tolerance test yesterday. I expected it, so no surprise there. They've changed things since I was pregnant with Christopher. I have to go purchase a monitor and see a dietician. Last time I just followed the diabetic diet. She said my numbers weren't that bad, and I didn't have any problems from it with Christopher so I'm hoping for the same again.

I also got to see our princess: again. The tech said she is wild! We got a cute shot of her face, her feet, and more proof she's a girl.

We'll be hanging around here for the holiday weekend. I have lots to do around the house. I hope all of you traveling have safe and fun getaways!

Dawn

I am so sorry that you failed your glucose test - I did with Julia and the monitoring was pretty easy and became second nature - it really kept me on track - the good news - I weighed 25 pounds less two weeks after delivering her than I did the day I got pregnant - it really is the best diet I ever went on

Jen, I thought you had a speech to write this weekend. That could be big plans. Good luck.

I just went through this. When I started planning we were going to have a big reception/party with lots of food and a dj. My parents kept telling us they didn't want anything (we hadn't mentioned the party, but knowing that their 40th was coming up, they would bring it up and tell us if we did something they would be soooo mad). We had suprised them for their 20th and 25th Anniversaries with parties at my Grandmother's house. They kept saying that they didn't want to bother people and my Dad's family wouldn't come so Mom would feel strange about just having her family there etc. etc etc. You all know how that ended. So take my advice with a grain of salt. I think the renewal is nice, but I know that my parents would never want a renewal so I would go with a Reception. You could even have a justice of the Peace do something at the Reception if you'd like. The restaurant is nice, but you are very limited on number of people, decorating and most restaurants want you out the door pretty quickly. A hall where you have no limitations on time, decorations and can plan your own menu would get my vote. Make sure you plan way ahead as you are looking at the holiday season and halls book up early for holiday parties. 40th Anniversary party supplies are scarce. I tried around here last minute and had no luck. I ended up making things to put on the cake. You may be able to get ruby colored garland or beading in the Christmas Decoration aisles as decorations may be out by then. A hall may also be decorated for Christmas. If they use white lights then you may be able to incorporate their decorating into your scheme although Nov 25 they may not be decorated yet. I would go with a surprise and since you are having it 3 weeks in advance you'd have a much better chance of pulling a surprise off. I really wish that I had been able to surprise my parents, but we had a nice party anyway. Good luck.

Deb
Thanks, Deb. I guess the first thing I'm going to do is see if the church and the hall are available for that date. If so, I'll hold it and then let my parents know about it, to see if it is something that they want to do. The only thing I'm leary about is the vow renewal. I know they would be up for the party! Maybe I could keep that a secret and if they agree to the vow renewal, let them think that's all there is going to be--small and intimate.

Does anyone know anything about vow renewals at WDW? We are all going the 1st week of May '07, so that could be an option. I'm afraid it would be very expensive though.

Clare - can you help me out on this? Do you know anything about it from doing your wedding planning?

Need some suggestions. My girlfriend is pregnant with her 2nd girl and her mom has asked me to throw her a shower. I did for her first and my girlfriend has thrown my bridal and 2nd baby shower.

Dana doesn't need anything big as she has kept everything from her first. And she has kept all of her clothes as well. I want to keep it simple but really don't know what to do. I am thinking along the lines asking everyone to bring a casserole or meal that can be frozen for them to use after the baby comes. My other girlfriend, Amy, thinks that is crazy as Dana will expect gifts. Now Amy has no kids and I think that after Molly came I would have much rather had dinners than all the clothes I did get. Gimme your ideas please!!
