I'm proud of you for sticking it out and working your last shift. The person that you screwed might not have been one that deserved it. I'm so glad that you are no longer employed there! It sounds like a very bad situation to be in. WTG! I'm proud of you!
That is how I felt and even if I would have called in the person who had to find someone else to replace me would have had to work extra and I didn't feel it was right. As they have to deal with so much crap all the time. I could never have been a site supervisor as they have to deal with all of the cancellings, not showing up, calling off, etc.

So no more group home for me. I have worked all of my scheduled shifts and refuse to work anymore. I will leave the phone on like I am supposed to but I will have the volume turned off. As after what happpened yesterday, I was considering walking out and leaving the consumers by themselves and not showing up last night. But I didn't have the audacity to do so but was seriously considering it.

I worked at the one job from 8:30am to 4:30pm on Friday, came home and attempted to sleep. I worked midnight to 8am at the group home. Or that was what I was supposed to work there. I was supposed to be at my other job at 8:30am. That never happened as the person who was supposed to work at the group home never showed up. :guilty: I ended up having to call my manager so she could work there. I am so glad I have an understanding manager who was able to work as otherwise it could have stunk big time.

I called at 8:05am to get someone to come in and told them I needed to be at my other job at 8:30am. No one called back by 8:15am so I called again, they said that they would call someone to look for someone. No one called by 8:30am so I called back. Finally someone called back and said they were trying to find someone I said I had to be at work at 8:30am and I was now late. I called my manager to tell her that I didn't know that if I would be able to make it to open at 9am as I was still waiting for someone to show up. She told me she would open and that I should just show up at 11:30am like she was originally supposed to. Which I thought was super nice of her.

I called several more times to try and get someone else to look to find someone else to come in. Someone called back and asked how long I can hold out and I said I was supposed to already be at my other job at 8:30am by this time it was already almost 9:30am :furious:. They said I should have told someone that and I was like I have told that to every person I have talked to and it hasn't done any good getting anyone to show up yet. By this point I was serioulsy considering just walking out and leaving as the consumers were all sleeping.

About this time my Mom called me and asked where I was and I said I was still sitting at the group home. She was like what do you mean, I thought you were supposed to be at your other job. I said I sure am, but no one showed up here so I had to call my manager so she could work. My Mom told me I should just not show up for my last shift and should call off, but I didn't feel that was fair to the people who would have to find someone to replace me. My Mom finally understood why I handed in my two week notice as she couldn't believe this happened. It was like a  went off in her head.

It was almost 11am, by the time someone else showed up and this person came from another home to just sit there. As I said I absolutely had to leave and couldn't stay anymore and I needed someone to get here ASAP.

I ended up going straight to my other job and was there till 8pm. My manager couldn't believe that it took that long to get someone else to show up to replace me. I went home and slept for a tad bit before I had to go back at midnight. 20 hours of work in a row and I had to do 8 more. But I survived and it is all over. They are not getting me to work, no matter how hard they try. :cool1:

I gotta get crap together for bridging on Wednesday night. Too much to do and too little time. Plus I have a headache that won't go away. Not sure how much I will be around.

Oh Becky,

I'm so glad you quit this job.... :goodvibes

By bridging, do you mean the Brownie's are going to be Girl Scouts? That was always so much fun. I had fun with my troop, but I will never be a leader again. You're a good woman...

Brownies are also Girl Scouts. The bridging means that they are going to be Junior Girl Scouts. Officially, GSUSA, the national organization, says that we aren't even supposed to call them Brownies or Juniors. We are supposed to say Brownie Girl Scouts and Junior Girl Scouts. This is a popular misconception because of Cub Scouts & Boy Scouts being different organizations.

What company are you a rep for?? I've done a bunch of scrapbooking in my not quite so busy life. :rotfl2: But have to clean the desk so I can get to it so I can actually do some scrapbooking. PLus I have to order photos, I just realized I almost filled up the 30 gig hard drive on the laptop, I gotta start taking things off so I can save more reccent things. :rotfl2: I will still keep the photos but in various other forms.

Creative Memories. :goodvibes They have so much Disney stuff! I am in love, I tell you...

All levels are currently called Girl Scouts with different designations for the different ages. I know in the past Brownies were a completly separate program than Girl Scouts but today they are all Girl Scouts.
(Sorry I had to take this as an opportunity to educate about Girl Scouts.)

Three of my Brownie Girl Scouts are flying up to Junior Girl Scouts. The other four will still be Brownie Girl Scouts, if they register. I will not be the Brownie Leader whether they register or not.

We have spring registration right now. I only got registrations back for two of the Girls who are bridging and one of their parents. That is it and I am supposed to hand them in on Tuesday night. I should probably call the others but it shouldn't be my responsibility to call them. They should be adult enough to know they were due back last Wednesday. I did say something at our awards but don't know that anyone was really paying attention.

I think I missed that gene as well!

I think you love shopping, as long as it is on EBAY or for Pal Mickey. :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

Me three, I hate shopping. I can never find anything that fits or looks good.

I'm also interested in knowing which company you are a rep for. I've been thinking about getting into that. I need some motivation to get my scrapbooking done. I've got lots of ideas but just haven't done it. If I was a rep, I'd have to do it!!!! :rotfl:

That was exactly my motivation. Crop parties are soooo much fun. My daughter and granddaughter are helping. My DGD has one scrapbook completed. It is great!! :artist: :artist: :artist:

Thanks for the explanation! This is new to me. I was a leader 30 years ago. Gosh I'm old...

Hooray for Vicki beating me to the correct information. I am so bad about saying Brownies, Juniors or Scouts. It should be Brownie Girl Scouts, Juniors Girl Scouts, Older Girls 11-17, Girl Scouts. As I was a Venture Scout which is a Boy Scout program for Boys and Girls over the age of 14 to the age of 20, when I was in college. Technically I cannot say scout as it is trademarked by Boy Scouts. I try hard to use proper terminology but sometimes I slip-up. :rotfl:

If you are having a crop, let me know. I would love to come if I have the time. :thumbsup2 My sorority and fraternity I was involved in would have scrapbooking parties to put together the organiazations scrapbboks quite often.

I have been scrapbooking for years, but still am about a year and a half behind. It really is an expensive hobby. The market just keeps growing. I, too, love the new Disney products that CM has. I can't justify buying those, though, until I get caught up.

Is the dark paper the blue/red stripe or the purple stripe?

I never saw purple stripe. I believe my dark had the blue/red lines.

ETA: But now that I think about it I'm not sure, so wait for someone else to answer before you trust what I think!!

It is the shopping for myself gene that I missed. I have black dress shoes, navy blue dress shoes, white sandals, tennis shoes, water shoes and two pair of crocs. That is pretty much the extent of my shoes. I might have 5 other pair that I hardly ever wear!!!! I have one purse. When I get tired of it, I buy a new one. I have about 20 pairs of pants (including dress pants, casual slacks, and jeans). I probably have 20 long sleeve & short sleeve dressy shirts and 30 tees (because of Girl Scouts only), 15 sweatshirts, 5 sweaters, 5 dresses, and 5 shorts. That is about the extent of my wardrobe. Oh I can't forget that I do have two dressier suit outfits.

I'm also the kind of girl that takes a shower in the morning, brushes her hair, gets dressed and that is the extent of getting ready. I figure I'm clean what more can someone want. Chuck takes longer in the bathroom than I do.

Maybe that's why I went overboard with my kids, their dolls and Pal Mickey!!! :rotfl:

You have some gorgeous kids! I think I'll keep my youngest baby away from the picture of your oldest baby! She will want to come on my trip in December to meet him during our mini DDA meet! :rotfl:

We got the keys to the new house today! Now, we have to make a list of all we want to do (e.g. paint the nursery, etc.) before we officially move in.

I'll try to give you a virtual tour...I'll skip the bedrooms (4 total) and bathrooms (2 1/2 of them) since the pictures don't do them justice though.

Here's the front of the house:

Here's the back of the house:

Here's part of the backyard and you can see how the pool (still unopened) has a wonderful safety fence around it:

There is a playroom in the basement (that's not our fuseball table):

playroom.jpg

And while the kiddos are playing, I also have a craft room in the basement:

The tour continues :)

Here is one angle of our kitchen...while we don't have as much counter-space as we do at our current house, there's still a lot of room:

kitchenangle1.jpg

Here's another angle of the kitchen. There's a huge walk-in pantry (on the other side of the refrigerator), but I didn't take a picture of it:

kitchenangle2.jpg

This is the dining room, attached to the kitchen:

Here's the living room and front door:

And finally, here's the family room, and the sliding glass doors leading to the backyard:
