This was the first Survivor season that I actually hated!! I absolutely HATED the outcome - I would have loved Terry to win, and I could have handled if Cerie won, but what a waste between Danielle and Aras. Shane was soooo right when he said: Both of you are underserving - it should have been Terry.

Jen -

I have only caught bits and pieces of Grays anatomy - last night after DH - I didn't turn the tv off - now I am hooked!!!
Can't wait to see the finale tonight!!!

I feel bad for Danielle...sitting there realizing she wouldn't have won either way. I agree with you though...it wasn't the best season. I LOVED the challenges though...Cerie looked good and I still think she "played the game" the best. But oh well.. Next season!

Although often times kids don't end up changing at camp anyways unless forced to, not sure why but this seems to be an observation I have made. .

I remember my DH telling me about his first time at camp. It was a camp that his Grandmother sent him to. He was not happy at all and even tried to run away. He actually got a mile and half away before they caught up with him. So he gets home and his mother is checking his suitcase and finally asked him where his underwear was. It seems that he really, really listened to her when she told him to put on a clean pair every day. He had all six pairs of underwear on! :lmao:

All lap top users I have question. :confused3
How do you keep your lap top from cooking your lap?
I have even set it on top of a plastic cutting board.
My legs still get hot.
Is it me, the laptop, or do they all do this.
At my age I don't need 2 heaters on @ the same time. :lmao:

My fan is on the right side of the laptop so i make sure that that is off my leg...my legs still get warm, but not too bad

Okay moms - I could use some advice

there is a girl in Julia's class who is mean and it really hurts Julia's feelings - we have talked with the teacher and she tells us the problem is universal with this little girl and not a problem with Julia - I have told Julia that she needs to play with the other kids and to not let the other little girl bother her and to avoid her when she can

well today Julia came home very upset about the other little girl - and I couldn't figure out why- she finally told me that she and this little girl spent the day fighting over who was friends with girl #3 - I asked why Julia didn't just go play with the 4th little girl in their class - turns out - she is out of town - thus making Julia the third wheel

why is it ingrained in us as little girls that we can't all be friends - why are we always competing to be the best friend and get jealous when others come into the mix - I know this is something that will always be an issue b/c girls will always be like this but I wish I knew how to make this easier for her or how to help her deal with this

any advice?

It very much varies from laptop to laptop, it depends on where the fan(s) is or are. Some get much hotter than others, I just sit mine right on my lap. Sometimes mine bothers me more than others. Try a thin pillow on your lap or a foam pad or something to get it off your lap. Good luck to you in figuring out a solution.

I'm glad to hear your Mother's Day dinner was good.

Denise, have you tried putting Mickey on his back on a table and having Rees press Mickey's hands with the heel of his hand instead of squeezing with his fingers? That might work.
What about clipping a spring clothes pin, the type you press on the one end and the other opens. Clip this on his hand and then press on the clothes pin part that is over the sensor. Maybe even put something on the clothespin so it is soft. I don't know if this will work or not.

It is what laptops do. I cut a board and covered it with shelving liner to fit across the arms of my chair. It gets the laptop a couple of inches off my lap but still allows me to sit in my chair and enjoy DISing. My laptop still gets a little room but at least there is some air between me & the laptop.

Glynis mentioned coals so I am assuming that her Dutch oven is different than a crock pot. None the less if anyone wants the recipe I will post it later.

Deb

A crock pot is a cast iron kettle used to cook over open fire, or in the coals. It's really a fun way to cook while camping. Very pioneer! We traditionally take a sourdough start and make biscuits and hotcakes while camping. On a fun side note, the sourdough start I have is one that was started by my great-great-grandmother when she crossed the country in a handcart company in 1847. It's been in our family since then, and we just keep feeding it and it just keeps going and going and going. Yummy stuff!

I still cry and my kids are 34, 31, 27. My oldest son was saying boodbye to me tonight and he said thank you. I said your welcome and he held me and looked directly in my face and said again "Thank You for all you do"
Of course I cried and am crying now as I write this.

:lmao: :lmao: Good to know it is not just me :lmao: :lmao:

I really like my name now, but as a child I hated the first day of school. I always dreaded hearing how the teacher would pronounce my name. Some would get it right, and others would just slaughter it. Made me cringe. Anyway, when I got into college I started going by my middle name, then I met DH and we started dating. Then I went back to Glynis. Alan and Ellyn just sounded to cutesy for us.

Glynis was more common in SA than here and I knew a couple growing up.
