Kate -- that's too funny. I never thought about whether kids recognize accents, dialects, etc. :rotfl:

Hi everyone.

Jennifer - I'm so sorry about your arm. I hope it isn't too painful. Congratulations again, btw.

Denise - unfortunately there is nothing I can do or say to make life easier for you, so :grouphug:

I hope everyone is having a good day. This morning in downtown Fredericksburg we have what is called The Great Train Race. I guess it is because it starts at the train station, and it is a one mile run, sponsored by a local running club, for kids. Each age/sex has a different heat. Nicholas ran at 11:15 against all the other 6yo males. There must have been, and I'm guessing, 75 or so kids in his bracket. I found out today that this kid of mine can run. Not only did he finish the mile run but he did it in 9 minutes. I think he came in around 20th, give or take. He even surprised himself. We drove the route last night and he saw how long it was. At the end of the race there are all sorts of refreshment stands and bands playing/dancing. It was a fun morning. Then we went to the nursery and I got a bunch of hanging baskets for our front and back porches. Now our house has some color! :teeth:

BTW Jennifer, what does the 2020 in your screen name mean?

WTG Nicholas!!!!!

Yay Nicholas! That sounds like a fun morning!

Honestly, I have no idea about the 2020 :rotfl: 20 is not my favorite number, I had no premonition (that I know of) of what might happen 15 years from when I signed up......

I am DEFINITELY one of the users who would change their name if I could, since it literally means nothing to me

It's on the South end of the strip...about 2 miles past Mandalay Bay. No big deal if you have a rental car...however, if you don't..you either have to take the bus..or the monorail to Mandalay Bay...and then catch the trolley to the outlet center...sort of a PITA!!

Guess my brother won't be going there for me, they are staying at the Bellagio and SIL will be lucky if she can get him out the casino although she doesn't like to gamble. Wednesday is her birthday so he treated them to this trip (more like for himself but she said she would go if they stayed at the B).

Hi, all. Drive by posting. I'll try to catch up later. Rees refluxed at dinner last night and isn't eating much. I think I've given myself an ulcer (literally). My stomach hurts all the time and having quite the upset tummy. But somehow I'm still hungry and wanting to eat! Go figure. Anyway, I'll be back later.

That is not good, what did he eat yesterday???
Keep us posted :wizard: :grouphug:

Julia and I were watching a movie and I said - is that the mom from parent trap - (we were wrong it wasn't) but Julia says

"I think it is but she talks different in Parent Trap - she talks in between" (she has a British accent)

I asked her what in between meant - and she said "well she doesn't talk English and she doesn't talk french - she talks in between them" :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

That is funny cause we were just at Home Deopt and some guy asked us if we had a French accent, ours is more British as SA was a English colony :teeth:

Good to hear your trip was such fun. What building number did you stay in at POFQ? Steffy and I stayed in #4 last year and our mousekeeper Fanny was just the best.

Terry

We were in #4 too. LOVED the location. Top floor near the food court. I think I'll try for first floor in August with the kids though. We were always up & out too early to meet the mousekeepers but they did a great job.

Sorry I disappeared yesterday. Emma woke up late and wanted Cheetos for breakfast. When I said no she cried a bit on the family room floor and fell asleep for hours. Then she woke up vomiting. I was getting really worried about her when she had a dry diaper from Friday night until about 8:30 last night. She was still vomiting this morning but has since eaten dry cheerios, saltines and a rice cake. She won't touch either of the 2 pedialites I offered her but she's kept the water down for most of the day and has had several more wet diapers. She's finally up and playing now.

Bernadette - that is an awesome picture. What kind of camera do you use? I can't wait to see more.

Thanks to all for the compliments on the photo. I really love the light quality in the photo. I took it around 5:30pm.

I have a Sony W7. It is a 7mp camera that while small enough to put in my pocket is not a credit card size camera. Those ultra small ones don't have view finders. It was so bright and sunny my whole trip I don't know how you'd take photos without an actual view finder. It sometimes has trouble focusing and it can be slow to recharge the flash but I've been happy overall. I had a 4mp Sony that I was happy with but wanted something a bit smaller. My "old" camera has a camcorder battery so it was quicker to recharge the flash but I think this new one actually takes outdoor photos quicker. The new camera takes AA batteries and I course use rechargeable ones but its nice to know that if I had to I could just put "regular" AA batteries in it. I just noticed in today's cirulars that Sony now has a Sony W100 that is an 8 MP and is the same price I paid for my W7 last August. I would think there might be some good deals on the W7.

I uploaded all 600+ photos to Ofoto. I'm putting in photo titles and deleting some of the not so great ones now. I'll upload a few more to Photobucket to post here but if anyone wants to all 600 just send me your email so I can send you the link and you won't need a password.

Can't wait to go back with Lizzie and take more photos of the Flower Fest. I picked up a brochure on the last day and realize all that we missed.

I went to the doctor today and am still pretty much in limbo

good news: they can not see any real damage to my knee from the mri

bad news: this means surgery is not a guaranteed solution

he wants to give me a few more weeks with PT at home before he makes the decision - so he gave me a lovely and stylish knee brace to see and I am going back after disney to see what we are going to do

Kate - I'm sorry there weren't more definitive answers on your knee. On the bright side, at least they didn't demand surgery right away! You'll still get to enjoy WDW albeit with a knee brace. Hey, whatever it takes to get you to the World, right?

You are most definitely NOT old!!! (So says the lady that was born in 1967, graduated HS in 1985, and from College in 1990. I was on the 5 year plan for College!)

With all the pixie dust -- the DDAers must have been shining - Paul got the job he wanted!!!

But it is more than likely that he will work 5am to 3pm shift -- and that means I'd be getting Matt on the bus. Currently my wonderful husband gets up everyday to get Matt on the bus. But this is a great move for our family. And Paul is pretty psyched!

Congrats to Paul on the job! :cheer2: :woohoo: :thumbsup2

Condolences to Marti on having to get up so early.

Hello Everyone! I hope everyone's Sunday was WONDERFUL! Bob and I bought a new Toro lawn mower yesterday. Our other one broke last weekend, and it would have been the cost of a new mower to get it repaired. So now I might just run the gas out of it and see if a scrap metal shop will take it for some cash. The bad news was that we had to use or Disney money to buy the mower! :( Glad I counted all that change last week! Oh well, I still have around 140 days to stock pile up on change again.
Other than that, nothing exciting has been going on. Getting the yard ready for the summer...planning on installing a bocce ball court sometime in June. Shouldn't be too hard, just a few rail road ties and sand. :) Have to edge the driveway, refinish the picnic table and benches and find a spot for a new bird feeder, redo the trim around the screen windows in the back porch...wow..I write this down and it looks like it'll take all summer... With the thoughts of a party in the middle of June, we'll be able to get most of it done by then. (crossing fingers...)

If anyone is heading north to Geauga Lake or Cedar Point or Cleveland Zoo, don't hesitate to give me a call! I'd love to meet any of you in my neck of the woods!
