The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 7

I only have 4 more days of teaching school after tomorrow (and 1 work day!). Can't believe the year is almost over. Kids have 2 weeks left, and then I'll be the mom of Kindergartners. How scary. Tuesday night is the Parents Night at their Elementary School. It's really happening.

BTW, I haven't heard about the other pre-school teaching job. I really want it as it's at the church where we are members (where I teach Sunday School and Choir). The minister, head of music, and my co-teacher of my choir class (she' the music teacher for the pre-school) all have said something to the Director of the Pre-school. So PD that I hear something positive soon.

Oh, and an update on Rees. I had a productive talk with the GI Doc today. I think he now realizes why John and I are so concerned. We talked about everything. The big issue is that if it is really bothering Rees, then it IS a problem. He agreed. And Rees has lost 4 pounds in the past 6 weeks. His appetite is down big time we are guessing due to reflux pain. the trouble with re-doing the Fundo is there is only so much stomach available for the surgery. If we do it now, then what happens 5 years from now when symptoms appear again and we have no other solutions? So that's why the doc really doesn't want to do surgery now. Unfortunately, if he keeps losing weight we'll have to take some kind of action. The doctor said we may have to put a feeding tube back in so that we can supplement his calories. So, now we're looking like we may be going down the whole Failure To Thrive/Feeding tube road that we did before. Needless to say, we are so upset. I do understand the doctor's view now much better, and I feel like he heard me. Oh, he wants us to video Rees when/if he has another big reflux episode so he can see exactly how he's reacting. so, that's my update.

Thanks for the update...glad you came to a resolution of sorts!!

Here's some major PD :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: for the other job!!

Okay everyone,

I am Steffy's seeing eye person. (making sure she does not dip her sleeve in her plate. makes sure she dusts crumbs off her shirt and the one sign of a very good true friend-- that if one stands up and her pants dont look just right tell her so she can fix them and she does the same for me :goodvibes )
I am announcing that she is going to Chicago and will not be back until late Monday night. And of course since you know she must read each and every post even though I will give her the Readers Digest version, that will take her another three days to catch up :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Now back to your regular posting and reading

she is visiting her sister's son, his wife and their new baby, Her new grandnephew. I could try to talk to her and see what her time frame will be

I am glad you had a good talk with your doctor today - I hope that things calm down for Rees!! Poor little guy - it doesn't seem fair that the little ones have to go through things they can't understand!

The doctor working with me right now with Nick is new to us (not the practice) and I feel she is really listening to me - we love our regular doctor b/c he is pretty cautious about things - but I know when I want action - he is not the one I make the appointment with - so I know exactly what you mean when you say at least now you feel like he heard you!

Oh - and I hope you don't get a chance to video Rees b/c I hope for the whole fig household that you don't have to go through that again!!!

Hey guys... I need your opinion. Here is another Family shirt design I am playing with. Which one do you like better- the red or the green?

Damn Girl, It just keeps getting worse. I'm glad you feel like the doctor heard you, but get that second opinion anyway. :grouphug: :grouphug: That things start looking up.

Seems like bad news around here continues....we got a call that Bill's cousin died. She was only 59. She was a cancer survivor...during Easter she had a terrible head ache...she ended up at the ER. Turns out she had a blood clot. Things were looking up when we left for Vegas...but I guess took a terrible turn and she passed away tonight. I didn't know her very well, nevertheless, I feel very bad for the family. I think I am developing a death complex.

I like both. But I like the green better. I think it makes the words stand out more from all the red with the star and santa Mickey.

I had one of the most tiring, stressful, busy weeks that I can remember in a very long time. It just doesn't seem to improve, but no need dwelling on every little thing that is going on. Just to update you guys, I have not received a single response to the email that I sent out at 9 AM. Not even from the families that were not at the meeting last night and haven't signed up for anything at all. I suspect that they will not reply until late next week if then. Oh well, I'll bring food and wood for my family and we will have an awesome weekend none the less.

Deb

Cinderumbrella, is there any way to make the star green. It would make Mickey pop even more? Just a thought.

Happy Cinco de Mayo, everyone! BTW, 6 years ago today I was admitted to the hospital for the remainder of my pregnancy. I had emergency surgery on May 6. Thank the good Lord it worked. So, today is always a special day around here. We're going out tonight with the kids and getting Mexican to celebrate. I'm headed to bed. See y'all tomorrow.

:wizard: for the job. I'm glad your dr. listened to you and you were able to hear his reasoning. I'm sorry that Rees is still having trouble and now the weight. :grouphug: You will continue to be in our prayers.
