I was terrified of the epidural so I wanted to see (as things progressed) if the pain was worse or the fear of the epidural. I never said I wouldn't get one, I just wanted to see how things went.

As they were trying to get labor going after about 6 hours at the hospital we heard a woman screaming "Oh God help me" "somebody please help me" interspersed with piercing screams (think horror movies)...on and on and on... When the nurse came in my mom asked her about it and she said the woman was having a natural childbirth. That about did it for me :lmao:
:lmao: Hope noone heard me in another room I'd be mortified. ;)

Hi all, trying to catch up from page 1900.

Denise,
I absolutely would go see that surgeon your friend has used if she had a similiar experience. I think you'll feel better talking to him. Prayers for Rees.

Jen (Blueeyes) Sorry to hear about your friend.

Becky,
We all love Splash too. I have a Disney sing along tape that has Zippadeedooda on it but I haven't seen the movie. I know there is controversy over it but I would love to see it.

Vicki,
I am with you regarding M:S! I rode it when it first opened. I had the worst headache for 3 days & I was so queesy. The whole concept is great & I would like to see the "tamer" version.

Kate,
Hope Nick is feeling well today & everything went ok with his Ct scan.

Eeyorecln,
Natural childbirth? What's that? I asked for drugs as soon as I walked in the hospital door..(& I was induced 3 times) :lmao:

Ellenbenny,
Sorry you have been dealing with so much stress at your job.

Elin,
Way to go on the 40 lbs loss! That is awesome! :thumbsup2

Tammi,
You are going to have a blast at MNSSHP!! I wish I could go this year!

Heidi,
Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!

Amy,
***??? Tom Cruise gets stranger & stranger (if that is a word) every day! I can't believe I used to like him in HS.

Hi to everyone else...hope all is well with the DDA's!

Why is it that there have to be so many negative people on these boards? There are others knocking people for wanting to ride MS without the centrifuges. Did I question them on why they would be stupid enough to risk their health to ride something that makes a good percentage of people sick? No, if it makes them happy, I say let them go for it but don't question me on why I would want to ride it the tame way when I know that I would be sick for the rest of the day!

ooo let me at 'em!

I have a sudden urge to watch all 6 hours of P&P :lovestruc .

If you lived closer we could have a marathon! I think that's the only way I watch it. I always swear I'm just going to watch a bit, but I tend to watch all of it over the course of 2 evenings at best!

:cheer2: Congratulations.

Today I am the secret reader for my son's 1st grade class. I picked out this cute book "The Trouble With Cauliflower"..when I am done reading I am going to tell his class that I brought them all cauliflower as a treat! Then surprise them with goody bags I made last night. (Pencils, stickers, & a Hershey bar)

Um..I am a SAHM..this IS my social life! :lmao:

I am calling our Pediatrician tomorrow for the referral to the other doctor and will make an appointment with him ASAP. I will also ask for the written reports on the tests this weekend. I have now heard from 3 of my friends who use the same GI doc. They have all switched as he is so conservative and doesn't take stuff as seriously as they'd like. John said I am NOT over reacting. He said if the doc had seen Rees that night, he would be singing a different tune.

Anyway, taking John to the car rental place on our way to school. Then school (less than 4 weeks left and then they go to Kindergarten. My kiddos are getting so big), then ballet (BK's recital is June 2), then off to our last night of choir and dinner. Kids have a big performance tomorrow night for all the parents and church members. I get to do lead Head-Shoulders-Knees-Toes in front of about 300 people. should be fun.

So I won't be back until tomorrow late. Kate, good luck and sending you prayers for the CT. Rees and BK have both had one (about the same age as Nick). Once they drank the syrup stuff and got sleepy, it wasn't bad. I know you're scared. I'll be saying a prayer for you and Nick around noon. Call me on my cell if you need to talk.

I know I'm not doing a good job of keeping up today. So sending love, hugs, prayers, congrats, hi, and all that jazz to my home girls in the DDA. Love y'all!

I hope that the new doctor can get you in quickly. It sounds like the right move. It's great that you have such a good support system of friends that can help share their experiences with you. :wizard: that the car doctor will be kind in his estimate as well.

I agree there is no other Mr. Darcy. My mom has the new Pride and Prejudice and I like Keira Knightley but I can't imagine this other guy as Darcy so I keep telling her I don't want to watch it.

I've liked him in everything I've seen him in, though.

Speaking of his other movies, I loved Love Actually. Great movie!

I like his other movies too! Love Actually is very good, Shakespeare in Love, A thousand Acres...

He just never makes me obsess over him as much as when he is (any variety of) Mr. Darcy  ;)

Yes I did and I can't wait either!!

I wish milk would go on sale here (it's price controlled or something like that). I pay $4.80+ for a gallon of milk.

I usually watch Letterman but if Tom was on last night thank goodness I fell asleep before it came on. I can't stand him anymore. YUCK!!!!!

Everyone send me good vibes that I make it through another crazy day. We will be rushing around from 12pm to 7-8pm. Yesterday I came home with elephant ankles I was so swollen. I've also done something to my foot so I'm hobbling around a bit.

:wizard: and :grouphug: to all that need them!
Just remember to take care of yourself and that little princess: . :goodvibes

It's supposed to hit 78 today in Cincinnati, but the only exciting thing planned right now is a trip to grocery store. 1/2 gallons of milk are 10 for $10 so we'll be stocking up on chocolate (for Kevin), skim (for me) and whole (for Alyssa). I don't think I'll be buying three different packages of Oreos though Jennifer! :teeth:

Hey, did anyone else read or see that Tom Cruise has changed Katie's name to "Kate" now because Katie is a girl's name and she's a mother now? I read this in the paper yesterday and last night on Letterman he said "Kate" at least 10 times. I wonder if Katie Couric will discuss this issue with him anytime soon. ;)

Hope everyone has a great day!
Amy :)

Your milk purchase sounds like ours while we're here. We have 1%, 2%, skim and chocolate.... are you going to Kroger? I love when they have that special :goodvibes

As for Tom and "Kate".... I'm so over him :confused3  What a goofball!

I can't believe you posted this!!!! Hugh Jackman is my all time FAVORITE celebrity crush! After that episode of Friends where they choose 5 celebrities that are "freebies" I told Alan that Hugh Jackman was definitely at the top of that list for me. I love, Love, LOVE to see him in X-Men, Oklahoma, Kate and Leopold, etc. DH won't let me own any of his movies. I think he's a little jealous! I don't care! I'm not giving up my Hugh!!!

Me too!! Phil laughs anytime I bring home a movie of his home from the library. I don't think I actually own any though. Now John Cusack....those I own! :thumbsup2

I got this from my friend via email today & thought it was funny..Thought I'd share...

Love & Marriage
Marriage (Part 1)

Typical macho man married typical good-looking lady and after the
wedding,he laid down the following rules:
"I'll be home when I want, if I want and at what time I want-and I don't
expect any hassle from you. I expect a great dinner to be on the table
unless I tell you that I won't be home for dinner. I'll go hunting,
fishing, boozing and card-playing when I want with my old buddies and
don't you give me a hard time about it. Those are my rules. Any comments?"
His new bride said, "No, that's fine with me. Just understand that there
will be sex here at seven o'clock every night... whether you're here or not."

Marriage (Part 2)

Husband and wife had a bitter quarrel on the day of their 40th wedding
anniversary!
The husband yells, "When you die, I'm getting you a headstone that reads,
'Here Lies My Wife - Cold As Ever.'
Yeah?" she replies. "When you die, I'm getting you a headstone that
reads, "Here Lies My Husband Stiff At Last.'"

Marriage (Part 3)

Husband (a doctor) and his wife are having a fight at the breakfast
table. Husband gets up in a rage and says, "And you are no good in bed
either," and storms out of the house. After sometime he realizes he was nasty and decides to make amends and rings her up. She comes to the phone after many rings, and the irritated husband says, "what took you so long to answer the phone?"She says, "I was in bed.""In bed this early, doing what?" "Getting a second opinion!"

Marriage (Part 4)

A man has six children and is very proud of his achievement. He is so
proud of himself, that he starts calling his wife," Mother of Six" in spite
of her objections. One night, they go to a party. The man decides that it's time to go home and wants to find out if his wife is ready to leave as well. He shouts at the top of his voice, "Shall we go home 'Mother of six?"His wife, irritated by her husband's lack of discretion shouts right back, "Anytime you're ready, Father of Four."

It is the first 2 letters of my first middle and last name. Hence why every other letter is capitalized.

Rebecca Ann St***t

Nobody ever gets it because I never go by Rebecca, anymore. Unless I am writing things not related to the internet. I had a friend in college named Renee' and everyone always thought my screenname was for Renee'. I had another friend who called me ReAnn, I should have picked that up and used it as my name, as then my name would not have been used by many.

BTW: I put the stars as I don't want my entire name out on the internet.

Ahh I did always wonder - that's a really cool idea :thumbsup2

Wouldn't work so well for me as mine would be ClLoSw

Oh and just picking up on something Kate said - I always pronounce your screen name reeannstreet - as over here St is an abbreviation for Street - rather than State :teacher:

So my friend has reminded me, why I don't like driving when I am tired. He was driving home and fell asleep at the wheel, he hit a tree and the guardrail and he flipped his car over and totaled it.

He is extremely lucky to be alive and to hardly have any injuries. He had to have staples in his right knee, he is bruised and sore all over and his head hurts, plus he doesn't remember what happened, which I think is probably a good thing. He is walking, talking and went to work but is so lucky to be alive. He was only about a mile from his house.

This has me scared because of how I work and am out at all hours. I had a friend who died because they fell asleep at the wheel, so it has me a little shook up. As I sometimes drive when I am tired, it has reminded me I need to be especially careful.
 :scared1: :worried: :faint:

Becky - and everyone else for that matter - please be careful if you're driving tired - and remember if you get sleepy stop the car and take a break.

Yeah, ClLoSw is a bit tougher to pronounce! :teeth: Mine would be JeNiKa, kind of cool! My "maiden screen name" would have been JeNiLa, which would have been fun to rhyme with Vanilla. :rotfl:

Hmm.... I think I need a nap, or food or something -- I'm much too easily amused this afternoon :teeth:

I didn't really. I mean, not totally

I knew you meant the same candy (essentially). I just wanted to try those to see if they taste different. For one, your Cadbury chocolate is MUCH better than ours. Not even the same class of chocolate. That is, except for the Mini Eggs at Easter. Those are my all-time favorite Easter Candy, so when I saw those in the aisle I bought some. Everyone said they were much better, richer chocolate, blah blah blah....... but I like our crappy version MUCH better! :confused3 :rotfl:

But I didn't know they changed the name to Starburst... then my guess is JJ's won't carry the "international version"

Jen - if they don't carry them then PM me your address and I'll post you some :thumbsup2

And I totally agree cadburys chocolate is the best chocoloate to be found on the planet :teeth:

Well that's just the thing. Colin Firth, not so much. ANY Darcy he plays? Irresistable. :rotfl: In fact, Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorite novels EVER..... and now I can't watch any other version now, because he IS Mr. Darcy -- in any form. ;)

I also adore the Bridget Jones books. I read them all when the movies were coming out, and a few times since. Also some of my favorite movies.... I laugh out loud during them still!

In the book, did you know Bridget interviews Colin Firth about the P&P series? That's the reason I bought the mini-series DVDs! To see what all the fuss was about :rotfl:

They didn't quite know how to handle that since he was in the movie as Darcy, so they cut out the scene. But on the bonus features (of 2: The Edge of Reason, I think?) Rene Zellweger stays in character and interviews "Colin Firth". It's hysterical! :goodvibes

I'd forgotten she'd interviewed CF in the book. I've never atcually seen the P&P series - I tried to read the book when I was younger and couldn't get my head round the story so I wasn't tempted by the series...
