Kate, hope they figure out what is wrong with Nick this time. :grouphug:

I have a very strong fear of doctors and them not helping Nick, makes it even worse.

Another busy day is over!!! Happy Birthday to Skunka and Alyssa party: :bday: party:

Hunter only lasted 10 minutes last night on his backyard campout, Nick made it until 6 AM, then came in the house and went back to sleep in his nice warm bed. Chris toughed it out of course. Our temps got very cold here last night and we got a very heavy frost. Chris said when he unzipped the tent this morning snow fell in :rotfl:

We went to our Maple Orchard today to clean the lines. That is when we pump clean water up through the lines to clean them out. Each tap has to be closed off so that the water will move up the line. It takes forever and it is all up hill. I keep telling my brother that I am not a Mountain Goat and we shouldn't try to do it all in one day, but it is useless. Chris and I were both exhausted and our feet were killing us. The boys tried to help, but get bored easily. My wild child Colby was accidentally soaked by Hunter so we removed his shirt to get him to stop crying. Well, we all know that Colby is accident prone and while trying to keep up with Nick he tripped and fell onto a fallen tree. He got some good scratches on his arm, chest and cheek. He didn't want me to clean them up, but I had to get the dirt off. I cleaned them and covered them with antibiotic cream so I'm sure he will be fine. That kid manages to get hurt just walking through the woods. It is a good thing that he was my third son because if he was the first born he would have been an only child. Chris and I have said that for years. He is the one that is going to give us a run for our money :sad2:

When I got home from the Orchard I finished cleaning the camper and then sorted through all the info the kids brought home on Friday. They both have major projects done on May 26th. Looks like I will need to start budgeting their time.

Deb
You had a busy day. I'm glad Colby will be OK. Isn't that funny how 1 kid can get so many more injuries than the others. Our DS Zack is like that. All 3 of the kids jump on and off the couch. I am always lecturing them about this but I ususally catch them a day later. A couple years ago Zack bounced off the couch and managed to bang his elbow against the tile around the fireplace(fake one). He must have banged it hard cause his elbow was broken. I was such a nervous wrek that for a week I made him play sitting on the couch, he wasn't allowed to walk around. :rolleyes1 I know the dr. said the cast was pretty sturdy but I wasn't taking any chances of course after a week he was getting so antsy I let him get up. My DH thought I was nuts but noone had ever broken anything in our home growing up so I was in a panic. I hope Colby has an accident free week. :wizard:

I must not have been a good hostess. All my kids couldn't wait to leave me! Katie was 2 weeks early. Jacob was 3 weeks early and the twins were 5 weeks early.

I had the pregnancies from HE(well you know what I mean) and looked forward to the deliveries. I couldn't wait and neither could my kids. Nick was 10 days early 8 lbs 2 1/2 oz. Hunter was 5 weeks early 7 lbs 3 oz and Colby was 3 1/2 weeks early 7 lbs 13 oz. I am so happy they came early. We are blessed that none have had any issues with being premature.

There are tons of suburban areas in St. Louis that are great. Many of them are low crime and you're still about 30 minutes from the airport. I really like it. Also, there are lots of things to do - zoo, art museum, science museum, history museum, etc that are all free. There are several really good school districts as well. My family lives in West County (there is North, West and South) and they all like it.
Thanks. It sounds neat with all the stuff to do. I did tell DH I would miss being able to go to the ocean in the summer and the mountains in the winter. But we would get more than 2 seasons rain and summer. Hard to decide. We'll be talking about it. Of course, I reminded him I would still require trips to DL even if we move. :goodvibes

As I have posted before I am not having the Brownie troop next year. At the sleepover on Friday night, I was approached with the "We have a job for you". One of the leaders has specifically requested you to be their co-leader next year because of the awesome job that you are doing.

The service unit director said I know you want to take a break but this person would really, really like you as their co-leader. I told them I would think about it. If I do it, it would definitely be on my terms with an up front understanding that I might leave at any moment. It would be with the junior high age level or Cadettes.

PLus I found out my session at the sleepover was the girls' favorite.

Whether or not I take the troop, it was nice to be noticed for doing a good job.

Becky
:thumbsup2 It's always nice to be noticed for the hard work you do. Congratulations on the offer.

I am so busy today, but had to stop in and catch up. Waiting to hear on Rees' results. I hope the little guy doesn't need surgery :wizard: I'll check back later.

Well, we may still stay at the CR. The monorail is a BIG deal to Rees, and we've already told him we're staying there. I just don't know if it's worth the risk to upset him. I just mentioned it to him, and he just keeps asking, but where will the monorail be? How will we ride the monorail?

If we do switch to POR, what is the easiest way to get to the CR, Poly, and GF? We have lots of early character meals (no prob if at the CR with the monorail). Would it be easier to get a cab and pay?

John and I are really torn. $1800 is a TON of money (and it would really help to save it), but when you weigh the monorail, ease of transportation with Rees, and bigger rooms, it may be worth it to spend it this time. John says every trip will be better, so maybe CR this time and try POR next time. Any opinions?
We stayed at POFQ in Dec. (they share a bus with POR) and had NO problems with transp. No, I take that back, once out of 8 days worth of waiting for a bus we had to wait awhile, but we still made it to the park prior to opening.

We were at the stop each morning between 8-8:15 and were at the parks within 20 mins or so, plenty of time to get through security and await the rope drop. We are one of those families that are happy with their transpo and find no need to rent a car.

Sheesh, you finally made your big decision between Oct/Dec, and now you've got to make another one. You poor thing....:guilty: .

Thanks everybody for your good wishes and pixie dust. They're definitely helping a lot since today I really felt better and the pain is almost gone. I didn't even need pain reliever all day long. The kids are doing great and they are even being helpful. I'm just having some trouble with every-day activities, especially with DD 17 months, as far as changing diapers, bathing, combing, picking her up, etc., but DH has been great and is helping me a lot.

On the other hand, today it was a fun day since we celebrate in Mexico Children's Day, you know like Mother's Day? We went to our Club and they had a kid's party with all kinds of sport activities and games for them. They divide them according to their age, and each group rotates each activity. They gave them a t-shirt, candies and lunch was included too. They had a blast! This day you find special treats for kids at restaurants, stores, malls, etc. They also had a Children's Day party at school, but they had theirs last Friday. Preschool had games and activities like cookie decorating, necklace making, mask making, beauty saloon, hospital, etc., one in each classroom, and the kids were able to go from one classroom to the other to do all the activities. Elementary school went to the movies that day.

Denise: I'm glad Rees did good and I hope the doctor has good news. :wizard:

Kate: I hope Nick gets better and it all ends up to be "just a virus". Good luck with the test results.

Amy: I'm sorry that things didn't work out well this weekend. Sending you pixie dust. :wizard:

Happy Birthday to Paul and Alyssa!! party:

Monica
Glad your finger is feeling better. The Kid's day sounds like fun. My family does an "unbirthday" party in the summer. As before the baby we had no birthdays in the summer and the only holiday was 4th of July. The kids would keep bugging me about when Halloween(the next major holiday)was going to get here. Well, we watched Alice in Wonderland and they loved the unbirthday party scene. So we decided why not? We play games and have cake and ice cream and go out to dinner somewhere special. Everyone gets one present. It breaks up the summer.

How would you get to early character meals? Take a taxi? Would that be the quickest route? since we'd be saving so much money, maybe rent a van for the week? Or just pay for a taxi those few times? I don't want to have to go the MK and then get a bus to the resorts or go to DTD to catch them.

How long is the boat ride from POR to DTD? Does it run fairly often?

Still haven't heard from the GI doctor yet. After lunch, I'm taking the kids to run errands. I'll forward my calls to my cell phone to make sure I don't miss him. I'll let you know as soon as I hear.

Well, I had been debating and debating sneaking down for my birthday and then saw the stuff about Priceline and $36 at Music and Sports. I decided to take a chance and ended up with 5/21 at Music and 5/22-24 at Sports. I am going to add the 20th today at AP rate hopefully. Looking at airfare I think we'll get to MCO around 3. I was thinking Spectro and Wishes that night as well. I'm going to figure out today what we're doing the other days as soon as I get the airfare locked in.
:Pinkbounc congratulations on your birthday trip.

He's good. Went back on his meds last night. Went to school this am and was in a really good mood. I think eating what he wants has made a big difference. He is a huge milk drinker (about the only thing he will drink) and he couldn't have it all weekend. He's had almost an entire carton of milk since yesterday! And we got McDonald's after the movie and popcorn during the movie, so he's a happy camper.
I'm glad to hear Rees is in good spirits after this week-end. :sunny:

Denise -- I know that wherever I stay at WDW, we will have a good trip. And I agree that $1800 is a ton of money. But I think you will be so glad you spent the extra money, since 1) you have lots of ADRs in that area, 2) it will be easier to go back and forth between them and MK and Epcot on the monorail 3) Rees's favorite thing is the monorail so him being able to watch the monorail during breaks will be priceless!! It might also be very calming to him (and to you all) to be able to watch it. As a parent who has a child with sensory issues, I've found that familiar things mixed in with some unfamiliar things, help my child adapt much quicker then when he's in a totally unfamiliar environment.

I think mentally and physically it would be a much less stressful trip to be at a monorail hotel. If you have ideas about where you'd like to stay on future trips, why not visit those hotels with the kids on this trip so that it will seem more familiar if you decide to stay there. Just a thought...

Tia, go right ahead and crash our party! We don’t even have a date for our party, but you can crash it anyway!

(what do you mean this post was in green?)

You can go back to black...as I had to cancel already.   Damn cat (who I hate btw) cost me $250 in vet bills after chewing off and eating a third of a shoelace. Add to that the guilt that we need to get Terra to visit family in CA sometime soon...my BIL just misses seeing her so much even if no one else acts like they do (they almost certainly do, he's just the only one other than DH that has held onto his ability to express emotions in their slightly messed up family). The guilt got to me and I decided that I am going to have to cut my losses and cancel. :sad1: I really shouldn't feel bad since I do have two trips planned in the next 10 months, but of course I do. I just don't want to give up my nice long 10 days with free dining and MNSSHP in Oct for the 3 park days I would get now if too many things come up. Sorry to miss you all May 18th-ers...still working on July though.
