Its about 1/2 mile at best, why bother with those buses?

Where are you walking to get there? Is there a path or are you talking out on the main road?mgkkgdm said:From POR, its right around the corner from OKW. We always rent a car and drive everywhere, I'm on vacation and cannot be bothered waiting for a crowded bus JMHO

I don't think I would make that walk with a little one in tow -
I thought you were talking about on that main road! I know what you mean now!mgkkgdm said:There is about 100 yards of grass off the road that I would walk on and that has got to be better than the 40 min bus ride with transfer at DTD with a little one in tow...

Hunter only lasted 10 minutes last night on his backyard campout, Nick made it until 6 AM, then came in the house and went back to sleep in his nice warm bed. Chris toughed it out of course. Our temps got very cold here last night and we got a very heavy frost. Chris said when he unzipped the tent this morning snow fell in![]()
We went to our Maple Orchard today to clean the lines. That is when we pump clean water up through the lines to clean them out. Each tap has to be closed off so that the water will move up the line. It takes forever and it is all up hill. I keep telling my brother that I am not a Mountain Goat and we shouldn't try to do it all in one day, but it is useless. Chris and I were both exhausted and our feet were killing us. The boys tried to help, but get bored easily. My wild child Colby was accidentally soaked by Hunter so we removed his shirt to get him to stop crying. Well, we all know that Colby is accident prone and while trying to keep up with Nick he tripped and fell onto a fallen tree. He got some good scratches on his arm, chest and cheek. He didn't want me to clean them up, but I had to get the dirt off. I cleaned them and covered them with antibiotic cream so I'm sure he will be fine. That kid manages to get hurt just walking through the woods. It is a good thing that he was my third son because if he was the first born he would have been an only child. Chris and I have said that for years. He is the one that is going to give us a run for our money
When I got home from the Orchard I finished cleaning the camper and then sorted through all the info the kids brought home on Friday. They both have major projects done on May 26th. Looks like I will need to start budgeting their time.

so I have no answer on the headaches which concerns me that they might be migraines - the doctor said it could also be the fever
the fever was much lower today and he is sound asleep now - so I hope that maybe he is getting better
he did scream about his head once - but I am not sure he didn't hit it - so I will just keep an eye on it this week
the worst thing that happened to me the whole day was when the nurse popped her head in while I was waiting for the x-ray report and said to me "you need to call your husband" my world stopped - I couldn't breathe - all I could think was that they x-ray had shown something horrible - turned out I had called Steve to let him know what was going on and he returned the call to the front desk and asked to have me call him
I am sure she had no idea how she said it came across but it really scared me until I realized what she meant!
I hope they aren't migraines. They are icky no good things and for a little one to have them is even worse.
monicatb said:On the other hand, today it was a fun day since we celebrate in Mexico Children's Day, you know like Mother's Day? We went to our Club and they had a kid's party with all kinds of sport activities and games for them. They divide them according to their age, and each group rotates each activity. They gave them a t-shirt, candies and lunch was included too. They had a blast!
ReAnSt said:As I have posted before I am not having the Brownie troop next year. At the sleepover on Friday night, I was approached with the "We have a job for you". One of the leaders has specifically requested you to be their co-leader next year because of the awesome job that you are doing.
The service unit director said I know you want to take a break but this person would really, really like you as their co-leader. I told them I would think about it. If I do it, it would definitely be on my terms with an up front understanding that I might leave at any moment. It would be with the junior high age level or Cadettes.
PLus I found out my session at the sleepover was the girls' favorite.
Whether or not I take the troop, it was nice to be noticed for doing a good job.
