Sorry Kate, but once again it is almost midnight and I am starving and now I will have to go find some of that type of food tomorrow. I can't post the type as it will upset :furious: the queen and I would hate to do that. :rotfl2:

I also can't post where my Girl Scout troop is going tomorrow as it involves food, I can't even call them by their age level name as it involves food. Why must everything involve food?? :confused3

Speaking of food: I tried a new recipe for pork chops tonight that was really easy and really yummy! Mmm, I love it when a new recipe actually tastes good enough for my kids to eat instead of pick at.

Oh, by the way, I was in Walmart today and what do I find in the ice cream section? The Mickey bars that Denise posted a while back. I grabbed a box, and the kids had them for dessert. Boy did they love them. They looked so cute, too! It was a fun reminder of DL even if the real Mickey bars look different. Thanks, Denise!

I was trying to get caught up on my shows.

Did anyone else think Kat walked into tonight's competition with a big disadvantage being the only female on Elvis night?

Amy :)
I have heard lots of women successfully sing Elvis -

I think she tried to sing beyond her capability - and her arrangements were too complicated

she should have left the all shook up out of hound dog - that is when it really seemed to go downhill

and then with the 2nd one - I agreed with what simon said - I just wanted apple pie and you put way too much cream on it - she got lost in the music - it sounded like she was trying to outsing the music

I really don't get Elliot - he sings well - but I don't think he has mass appeal

I think it will come down to Taylor and Chris - but I have no idea who will win

Was Jim's birthday today? Happy Birthday Jim!!!!!

It was his birthday...he is now officially an old man he said. He turned 39 today.

I am going to be so sick of birthday cake by the end of the weekend, that friend is making two birthday cake surprises for Saturday for the girls.

I'm back on page 1852. I'll never catch up...

I got off the plane, went to my nephew's house, went back to the airport and came home. No time to do anything. I didn't even get to a drugstore to buy a postcard!

Oh well. My leg is going to be in this cast for at least another month...

I made my great-nephew these onesies...

My sister is going to go to WDW with me. I was able to explain the concept of the word gift... :rolleyes1

We had steaks and potatoes and corn for Jim's birthday dinner. He loved the fact that he grilled them without Grandpa's "help". We have a friend that made him any cake he wanted and he asked for Carrot. It was yummy and I don't like carrot cake. :thumbsup2

But I am so stuffed even the thought of food makes me feel blech!
Thats the last straw, I am so gone as I can't take the food talk anymore.

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :teeth: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:
I guess if I stay on the computer it will keep me away from the food as I don't have any here in the room with me. I can just think about how it might taste but don't have to eat it.

What brings you about at this hour. I am suprised you are not in bed sleeping. How are you doing tonight?

I don't care what type of food it is, I don't want to hear about it or see it typed as I will have to find something to munch on and I am trying to be good. :teeth:

Becky, silly, you need to take notes from the Queen about our posting styles. I have been posting at this time for a few nights in a row now. :teeth:

And I just ate a nice healthy turkey sandwich...too lazy to add lettuce and tomato though. Just turkey on wheat with a little ( ;) ) mayo.

We also think it will come down to Taylor and Chris. Right now it's still to close to call, at least in our house. My girls are rooting for Elliott they have become smitten with him.

Mayo or Miracle Whip?

Um, I typed mayo. I would type miracle whip if it was miracle whip! :teeth:

Which reminds me, a poor girl I went to HS with had the nickname "miracle whip." Who's gonna be the first to guess why...

I thought Chris did the worst tonight. I haven't been impressed with him the last couple of weeks. I truly thought that Elliot would be the next to go until the performances tonight. I thought he did a great job. However, I don't think he is an "Idol". It will be interesting to see who goes tomorrow night. I love Kat's voice but she needs to pick better songs. I loved Taylor's performances tonight.

You're very warm, but now you have to think of the slogan...

Ok, I have a question regarding this. How many of you have both in your refrigerator?

The reason I ask is that I have to buy mayo and miracle whip. The mayo is for the egg salad that is my MIL's recipe and the miracle whip is for the potato salad that is my DM's recipe. We've tried both with the other and it just isn't the same. It's nice that Chuck & I both prefer his mom's egg salad and my mom's potato salad. At least I don't have to make two kinds of egg salad and two kinds of potato salad. I just have to always have mayo & miracle whip in the house.

I only have miracle whip in my fridge

a sandwich just isn't a sandwich without the tangy zip of miracle whip
