The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 7

I am sitting here trying not to cry or drive myself crazy

I really thought Nick was better - he wasn't himself today but certainly better and I knew that since he had a fever of 102 or higher for 4 days - he wouldn't be up to par yet -

he cried when we went to get Julia from school and really would pick resting over anything else

tonight he seemed to really perk up and was actually driving me crazy at bedtime - I was so happy - he seemed more like himself -

and then all of a sudden he grabbed his nose and said not again - my head hurts mommy -

I am so frustrated - what could it be - I talked to my BIL who is a doctor and he said that even though his sinuses were clear of fluid - it doesn't mean they weren't inflamed and I should give it a few more days before I panic and go to the doctor again

I just hate that he is in pain and I wish I knew what to do for him

Alternate the Motrin and Tylenol, prop him up on several pillows, turn on a humidifier, and give him the Claritin. Also, try a warm compress on his face/cheeks.

Can I tell you that Samoas Girl Scout Cookies go really well with a glass of red wine!

Samoas go well with everything!! Haven't met/ate a thing they didn't go with!!

My nickname for Alpha Phi Omega- national co-ed service is C.O.W or Cave Of Wonders. My Jersey actually says C.O.W on the back for the nickname. My big brother did not realize abbreviated it spelled cow. I think that is what pregnancy brain did to her. She was pregnant when I became her little and she created my nickname.

Can anyone tell me what movie the Cave of Wonders reference comes from?? This being a Disney related board I am sure someone will know.

I will tell you how I got it after someone figures it out.

I'm sure someone has said Aladdin by now, but I'll play anyway

Jen, sorry it didn't go as planned, but you are going to have so much fun! I did a scavenger hunt once for John all over the town I lived in. at the end was me in my b'day suit. Now he was VERY excited about that hunt!

I am so sorry to hear that you don't know what is wrong with your baby. I hope you find out what is wrong with him soon.

Could you try putting an ice pack on his head with a towel under it. When my sinuses hurt, it helps immensely even if pain killer doesn't because it numbs it.

BTW: How is your knee today??

That sounds like fun! Except it'll never happen, unless Kyle gets over his goofiness about this! I'd be sitting around sans clothing for an awfully long time, while he moped around!

I had a couple odd things happen this weekend and I wanted to get everyone's thoughts on the second one.

First-we saw two different proposals this past week. The first was at the Rockies game and was so sweet with both the girl and guy end up crying. The second they both end up crying also but different reasons. This one was at the Nuggets game on national tv the guy gets down on one knee, long proposal, beautiful ring...the girl runs off the court and the guy leaves the opposite direction dejected. Poor guy.

Second- this one kinda creeped me out afterward. We had a piano recital and one of the mom's of one of the young men who played came up and commented on how much Cassidy has turned into a young woman......talking the physical sense her, how she was getting the curves in the right places. This woman and I are friends and I was so uncomfortable...felt like she was sizing Cassidy up for this young man. She did come back and go to mundane stuff. These two will be in marching band together next year. Would you have been creeped out? or am I really nuts?

How very interesting and yet bothersome that the lady ran off the court. What do you think she hears from people? (Hey look….. isn’t that the girl who left the guy hangin’) How sad (as they shake their heads)

As for your friend noticing your daughters changing body, I am not so sure how I would have dealt with that. Knowing me I may have said something like…. Maybe if I stop feeding her she will not grow into a lady and always stay my little girl. Then again I am the smart mouth type on occasion. I do think that would have let her know that she had jumped WAY over the line with the words she chose.
