Paula, I hope the night goes well, and that you and Bethie will get some sleep! Now that I've seen pictures of your babies, it adds a measure of empathy! Take care of those precious babies, and take care of yourself, too.

Thank you, she is up and playing with the pots and pans. I can't make her sleep for a while, she slept for a while this afternoon.

DH is in Atlanta this week for a conference and the baby won't settle down well. I think I'm not going to get much sleep.

Did you get any sleep last night? Today?
I hope you all get some sleep soon.

We got some awesome news on Grandma Hoo-Hoo. Surgery went well and it's not cancer!! :cool1: We will be going to MT and not WDW this summer. This served as a gentle reminder that WDW will always be there grandparents not so much.

I am a firm believer in prayers and pixie dust and I  the fact I can come here and know that we all encourage each other.

So, does that mean that I may get a chance to meet you?!?

The MRI went fine - does anyone know how to read one? Cause I have no idea what I am looking at - although I have the films

I actually found it relaxing - listening to music - I almost fell asleep!! :teeth:

I have to wait until next Wednesday - I can tell you one thing I am NOT having surgery before May 18 - I am going to WDW!!!

Tomorrow night - I am going to see Les Mis - it is my all-time favorite show so that will help lift my spirits!!!

Oh, Les Mis should be really good! I heard a lot of preview stuff about it (not that it isn't always a great show anyway!)

I didn't respond at first as I figure Denise has already answered this (or someone else). But you can give Motrin and Tylenol together and see if it works, as they work differently. I think this is about what you are doing -- but give one or the other every 3 hours instead of 6... regarldless of what her fever is (as in, don't wait until it spikes again, give it scheduled), they can be overlapped like that. I hope she is feeling better soon!

ETA: PLEASE just watch the dosage though. Anytime you give Tylenol (with or without anything else) -- or take it yourself -- give accurate doses :)

L&T just came out last month, so it should still be in the stores. Try Best Buy, Target, etc. Or tell the DH and Dkids to try there for Mother's Day!

Actually, I'm doing my own shopping for Mother's Day. I have since 1997. DH is just not much of a shopper. Not even when I write him a list, and put it in his hand. And when he does shop, what does he get me? Sound of Music! :rotfl2:

So far, I've bought myself a new bathing suit (Eeyore), a Disney Italian Charm bracelet, and 2 Disney shirts. Now, L&T would make a perfect Disney ending to my Mother's Day!

Thanks for the head's up! I'll head to Target tomorrow!

Can adults take both at once, too?

I just read 36 pages to catch up from last night. My eyes feel like this

:wizard: :wizard: to Kate and Bethie.

Theresa I'm glad that Grandma Hoo Hoo is doing better.

Hello to everyone else, I really did read, but didn't take notes. The new signatures look great.

I have a rough day. I had to get up early to get Colby to an 8:30 dentist appointment. I am not a morning person so my day was off to a poor start. As we were exiting the Dentist (He had a great exam by the way) My mom called to say that she had been diagnoses with Whopping Cough. She began feeling poorly on Saturday and had been progressively getting worse so she went to the doctors yesterday. They told her then that she either had a URI or Whopping Cough, but didn't treat her then, waited for the test results. Well apparently Whopping cough is extremely contagious so my whole immediate family 11 of us are on Z packs. I don't know what they didn't start her yesterday as I'm sure the Z pack would have covered both issues. Her results had to be reported to the State Disease Control office so she was on the phone all afternoon with Doctors, Nurses, state officials and school nurses (she works at a high school). For now they are only treating immediate family, but if anyone that came into contact with her gets a cough they must immediately go on the meds. Since she has been at work at the school and we had their anniversary party (30 people) they had no idea where to draw the line as to who should be treated. So after several hours of waiting to hear from doctors we got our meds called in an all 5 of us have started our course. Tonight we had Cub Scouts and did the second half of our Athlete unit so I got plenty of exercise. I was really disappointed that only one other parent participated tonight as we had 100% participation the first time. 4 parents actually just sat and watched. Oh well, at least today is over and I'm off to bed.

Marti, I got 3 packages in the mail today so I guess I did something productive today :smooth:.

Deb

WOW I hope your mom gets better soon and I am sorry to hear to all have meds to take.
Take care!

Deb

Wow, Deb!
:wizard: and :grouphug: to you and to all your family! Hopefully, none of you will get the coughing part. Z-packs are our friend, aren't they?

Sorry things didn't go well with Cub Scouts. At least you got some exercise! I'm anxious for Jacob to start Cubs, but I'm nervous, too. DH is really into Scouting, though, so I think he'll have a good experience. DH still has his Scout shirt, and his sash with all the badges. He got his Eagle as well, and it's something we talk about a lot, so Jacob sees it as something fun, and that he wants to do! I'm glad Alan is so into it, because I'm not sure if I will be or not!

Paula- :wizard: for Bethie!!! My kids would never drink pedialite but they would eat the pedialite pops and when the flu struck in Feb I tried Gerber's powdered version that you mix with water(fruit flavor) and they liked that a lot better.

Kate- :wizard: for your knee!!! The blister on my toe (from my Crocs I think) doesn't sound so bad. Love all the new sigs! Enjoy LesMiz. I too love that show but can't remember the last time I saw it. You must have been a baby. :teeth: I know I wasn't at my current job so it's been well over 15 years.

Tammi-congrats to Nick!

Denise-BK is beautiful and looks SOOOO happy! Enjoyed the Atlanta gang photo. I will mail the package before I leave.

Amy- :wizard: for your house and please take it easy.

Tia-thanks for the info. I think we'll be there for the Wiggles. I would really enjoy seeing them.

Vicki-how about a postcard or photo from the world for the crib notes? PM me your address/email. I just got a new camera cell phone. I think I may do the 250 photos messages for $5 for the month of May. Then I can send home photos to DH of Lizzie & I.

Things are getting crazy at work (and of course I was in a meeting all morning this morning and again tomorrow) and I've got sooooooooo much to do before my trip that I'm not sure I'll get back before I leave. Don't send the dogs out after me til at least May 8th. :teeth: Who am I kidding? I don't think I can really stay away. Who needs sleep anyways?

If Jim gets the time off and how much....if it's just a day or two it will be a whirlwind through MT a little longer and WATCH OUT GLYNIS HERE I COME!!!

Well, people, it's time for me to hit the hay! I have to give my final presentation in class tomorrow night, but I'm sure I'll check in here before then. I plan to spend most of the day putting the finishing touches on my project, and lecture notes, so don't be concerned if I don't post much.

I hope everyone feels better tomorrow (Bethie, Kate, Ellen and anyone else).

Thanks for the siggy Kate! You're the absolute best!

Well, I edited my post a bit to Paula, if you want to read it. What I listed there is the general recommendation for children.

Adults can definitely take both at once, but just watch the dosages on each to make sure you dont' exceed the maximum. In fact, I almost always take Excedrin and Ibuprofen for really stubborn headaches.

But certainly take your doctor's advice if he ever tells you otherwise, or if they make you feel sick, don't take care of the problem etc :teeth:

WooHoo!!!!!!!!! Picture me jumping up and down, and Alan running in to ask what's up!

I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Well I had my kids at the same time you did, and they told me 25 - 35. It didn't help though becaused I gained 40 with the first and at least 53 with the second, but I stopped weighing myself the last 2 weeks. I didn't want to know anymore. And my mother also reminded me constantly about how she never gained more than 25 pounds. Like I said, it didn't help, I couldn't control myself.

That's still the recommendation, 25-35 in healthy moms... which seems tough! I wouldn't know though, that's just what the textbook says. You're really only supposed to consume like 500 extra calories daily or something like that until/unless you breastfeed, then it goes up another 500.

Good luck on the presentation tomorrow!! Now go to bed!!
