Hi!

DBF and I are big Disney Channel fans (though we don't have cable, so we watch it on vacation or at my parents' house) and I'm a big fan of musicals.

Should we troup over to my dad's tonight to watch the High School Musical movie on Disney Channel tonight? I've been reading online what a phenomenon it is -- so many songs going to #1 in one week, winning ratings the first and second time it aired, etc.

According to Walt Disney, Mickey and Minnie Mouse have never been married on screen. But, in 1933, during an interview with Film Pictorial, Walt said, "In private life, Mickey is married to Minnie... What it really amounts to is that Minnie is, for screen purposes, his leading lady." Two years later in 1935, he told Louise Morgan in the News Chronicle "There's no marriage in the land of make-believe. Mickey and Minnie must live happily ever after." The discussion of Mickey and Minnie's wedding has been fueled by the 1932 film Mickey's Nightmare in which Mickey falls asleep in the armchair instead of meeting Minnie at the local dance. Mickey dreams of being married to Minnie and is surrounded by numerous little Mickey mice. Then in 1935, a cover for for the sheet music "The Wedding Of Mister Mickey Mouse" shows a picture of a beaming Mickey, dressing in a tux, leading Minnie, dressed in a veil, from the church to the happy cheering of Horace Horsecollar and Clarabelle Cow. This music was a Novelty Fox-trot with music by Franz Vienna and words by Edward Pola with special permission by Walt Disney.

Officially, Walt stated about Mickey and Minnie, when he once wrote in the Film Pictorial (1933), "In private life, Mickey is married to Minnie. A lot of people have written to him asking this question, because sometimes he appears to be married to her in his films and other times still courting her. What it really amounts to is that Minnie is, for screen purposes, his leading lady. If the story calls for a romantic courtship, then Minnie is the girl; but when the story requires a married couple, then they appear as man and wife. In the studio we have decided that they are married, really." In 1997 Russi Taylor, the current voice of Minnie married Wayne Allwine, the current voice of Mickey after a five year courtship. Russi's theory about Mickey and Minnie's public image, "The characters aren't going to get married, because children relate to Mickey and Minnie at their own levels. They don't know how old Mickey and Minnie are; but if they were to get married, they would become adults, and it would spoil the illusion."

the ears will be on the back - I think the last one is my favorite - but what does everyone else think? (note: those who will actually be wearing the shirt will have a higher weight in the decision)

I think I will have to make this line blue or black - I forgot about the red shirt!!

Kate I think the last one with a blue line instead of the red. But they are all cute.

Kate -- I like #2. I agree it's busy, but it makes me happy. But maybe #3 would be better on a shirt. I just really like #2. And I love the ears!!

I'm still trying to work my schedule and finances so I can go too!!

I'm not laughing at you Jennifer. You'd have to go back and read all the old posts on High School Musical to understand. The short answer is that I think the queen is the president of the High School Musical fan club. They have watched it so many times at their house that they have all the songs memorized and know the dance.

You really are asking the wrong bunch!!! I should have countdown clock for the release of High School Musical. My girls love it!! I explained it to some friends as a Tween version of Grease without bad words and turtle time(didn't use turtle talk but you all get my jist!!)

I like the middle one, but maybe it is too busy with all the hats around the border.

Maybe if I saw the last one with the different border? You will also need to change the red square on the top left.
