Is Abi friends with the 4th grader? Could you start by having her over more often or inviting her out with you? She is at a very important age as far as needing someone stable and caring in her life. Maybe as you get closer to her, you'll find a way to help out the family. How well do you know the parents? Is is well enough to ask if they could use a helping hand?

As far as your rant: I used to sew puppets and dolls and go to craft shows. It was amazing the number of parents who let their kids handle things with messy hands and also make a mess of the displays and not even try to straighten it up.

Abi and the 4th grader used to be best friends but in the last year it's kind of gone by the wayside. There just doesn't seem to be any happiness in the family anymore. I am going to try and get her to come with us more but I have a feeling mom counts on her being home. Mom is blind and I think more than anything overwhelmed by having 3 at home by herself...she used to be the one who went out to work while dad was a combo SAHD and worked from home. I just so wanted to give them a bath!!

I have the 2 disc HCOE cd set and it does not have Spectro on it. I wanted it so badly that I bought the Spectro dc off of ebay.

Hmm... I bet it's not on the DVD at all then, like Vicki thought. Bummer! I'll have to stick with my crappy computer version, and try to get a better tape when we (ever) go again.

Actually I was! I tried to find your quote, because I didn't think you mentioned the actors. I thought you were just saying that as far as the story goes (since actors, writers, etc always have a backstory going on that doesn't make the movie.. you know, to get the whole picture in their heads), that the MICE were married "off stage"
