Not dumb at all! Kyle had a friend who, throughout undergrad AND medical school, wore a dress pants, dress shirt and tie to EVERY test he ever took! I on the other hand, always preferred pajamas or sweats. :rolleyes1

Whatever works for you, is PERFECT! Can't wait to hear about it.

Well, usually I just wear a comfy pair of jeans and a Tshirt, but I felt the need for the confidence that being all dressed up gives me.

It was a trick I used to use as a teacher. I had a class of Seniors who thought that they were going to get the best of me. I heard through the grapevine that they were going to refuse to read the book that I had assigned them. Luckily, I found out, and appeared in class the next day all Power Dressed. VERY high heels, killer dress, makeup and hair done to the nines. Scared the crap out of those kids.

I needed some of that confidence today. I present in a little over an hour. I've spent the last 2 hours going over my notes, and polishing up my presentation. I've decided not to mess around with it anymore. It'll just make me more nervous! So, here I am! For a little while anyway.

To everyone else, hi!!!!!!!!! I'm sorry if I missed anyone. But y'all are in my prayers.

Thanks, Denise! I'm so glad that your kids are having a good day. Way to go, Jenn and Marci! This group really knows how to go above and beyond the call of friendship. This is the best place in the world!

Oh we so need to stop this!! I didn't get a honeymoon either!! Unless you count a night at a hotel after being stopped by a cop. Let me just tell you that was the highlight of my wedding weekend.

Some people! :badpc: (not quite deserving of a "furious" smiley, so just pretend with me :rotfl: )

I posted some of my Zoo Blooms pics on the photography board. Lots of nice comments made, other Cincinnatians joined in and shared theirs, it was going well. And the thread still IS going well, which I should be thankful for. But someone had the nerve to PM me and ask if they could have a copy of the original lion file. At first I thought nothing of it. A few people have asked for pics, and I don't mind sharing.

She goes on to say she "can't bear to look at it anymore" because the photo is "so sucked of color". ***?! I look to see if I can figure out what she's talking about. Sure enough, picture looks perfectly fine to me -- even the grass is bright green, so I didn't know what she was talking about. I was a little insulted!

But then I figured it out. And PMed her saying, "I don't mind sharing the copy at all. Can I ask though, what you found was lacking in color?" Sure enough it was the lion that was making her not be able to "bear looking at it anymore". Sheesh! So I politely replied, "I don't mind if you play with it still, but it's one of Seigfried and Roy's white lions...... so he is supposed to be that color". :rotfl:

ETA: Still no response from her. I'm hoping to see what she "did with it" to "fix it", becasue I'm SURE she just upped the saturation or (please no,) COLORED the lion yellow!

Marci --

I was out and about visiting some elementary schools today, all of which had received Grants for Innovative Teaching through the Junior League of Dallas. One of the schools was off 45S and MKL Blvd.

I saw an off ramp to Kaufman on my way! How much further is it to Kaufman from there?

Beowulf just might be my ALL TIME least favorite book. I still get worked up when I talk about it, it's so bad! :rotfl:

I second that!! Frankly, anything we read in Semester 1 of the History of English Literature was blecky! Semester 2 was when things got good: Shakespeare, the Romantic poets, etc.

you should get at least one accident forgiveness!

Oh come on!!! Beowulf is great! Adventure, gore, supernatural villains, etc. That was one thing I taught my seniors that the boys all loved. Of course, they didn't have to read it in Olde English like I did in University. That makes a big difference. The right translation can make or break a story. What about Chaucer? Anyone up for some Canterbury Tales?

I'm glad that you enjoyed Shakespeare, though. Too many people don't, and I can't understand that!

You are such an enabler! I love the Art of Friendship bag. Do you think there is a zipper at the top of the bag? This is exactly what I've been looking for. I think I'll have to order one. I know that some of the bears tees fit the Pal Mickey. I found that on the www.palmickey.net site. Thanks so much for sharing this with us. I think I'll be placing an order.

Glad to help! With my BABW stuffy family, I couldn't justify buying a Pal Mickey. So I'm happy to enable you and everyone else, and then enjoy the photos.

If you do get a bear shirt, let me know how it fits.

Ok, so here I sit all dressed up ready for my presentation when what do you suppose happens? I lose my Internet connection!!! I panicked like you wouldn't believe. Frantic calls to DH, but he doesn't call me back. I finally had to get on my hands and knees behind the desk to tinker with the cable connections. I don't know what I did, but it worked. Now I'm afraid to move anything on the desk for fear it will go out again!

That would be just my luck, too. Lose my connection right before the presentation. Well, I'll laugh about it since I got it back, but it could have been bad.

Yikes!

Forgot to add that in this photo it looks like there is a top zipper.

Good thoughts for Rees.

triplefigs said:
Rees goes tomorrow morning at 7:30am for his Upper Endoscopy and Bravo pH Probe test at Scottish Rite hospital in the surgery center. Rees will have General Anesthesia for the tests, so I'm not sure when we will get home tomorrow.

He has been off the Reflux meds since Wed am. After the Bravo pH probe is placed during the surgery, we will feed him the acidic diet through Sunday morning. We turn in the monitoring device either on Sunday or Monday am to get the results of the pH probe test. Once the doctor reads it, then he will decide if Rees needs to have his Fundo surgery repeated.

Thank you all for the emails, prayers, and calls. I will keep you updated on his progress.

Hope he starts feeling better soon. :wizard:

Try and have fun tonight. I know easier said than done.

We read Olde English as well. Maybe that was it, but I doubt it. It was just "he kills the monster" then they party for 40 pages, repeat. :rotfl: It's a classic though, so you obviously aren't the only one that enjoyed it!

I do love Shakespeare, an actually enjoyed Canterbury Tales
