Check out day! We were both feeling let down because we were leaving the cabins and the Wilderness Lodge. The good news is that I was going to ride Tower of Terror at Hollywood studios. Ever since they rethemed the one in California Adventure Park, I've been planning on riding the one at Hollywood studios. So, I have been waiting for many years.
My husband never rode Tower of Terror or Guardians of the Galaxy at DCA, but has often said that he was going to ride. Today was the day. Let's just say that he ended up being terrorized by the ride and he didn't want to go on any rides after that. Meanwhile, I was very happy with the ride and I enjoyed how it was a bit different than the old one in California. I immediately plotted my solo trip and how I could ride the Skyliner from Riviera and just ride the one ride at the beginning or the end of each day (or even both the beginning and the end).
He needed to have a long sit after the ride and I ended up getting a flavorless kid's meal or chicken strips and fries to pass the time. Note to self- I don't like chicken strips or fries. Just because every vlogger says that they are good doesn't mean that they are.
We watched the Indiana Jones show and I rode Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railroad. It was very cute how the queue was different than the one in Disneyland. After that, I watched the Villain show. I can't say the show was bad, but it's not like I'll ever recommend it to anyone. That was about all we had time for before going to The Brown Derby.
I didn't order an entree. I ordered the asparagus soup (so good that I wish I ordered 4 bowls), a beet salad and the carrots side dish (which was huge). My husband had the halibut. We both thought our meals were excellent and we would actually come back to this park just to eat there again. The lounge outside serves the full menu so we don't need to worry about making a reservation next time. Very good place. I couldn't decide what to have for dessert and I ordered 2 desserts, neither of which were good. So, I only had a few bites of each of them.
We got on the road about 3:30pm to drive to Fort Lauderdale. Due to an accident, road construction and avoiding the tolls, it took us 5 hours to get to the fort Lauderdale airport to return the car. If that wasn't bad enough, things went downhill quickly after that.
