Those are awesome!!!! I really need to remember those for next year!!!

Good Job!!!!

I've never tried this. So I am not sure if it is good or not. PLus I'm not sure how much it may differ from what you are used to.

FRIED CORN MEAL MUSH

1 c. cold water
1 c. corn meal
3 c. boiling water
1 tsp. salt

Mix cold water and corn meal. Stir into boiling water and salt. Cook, stirring, until it boils; cover and cook over boiling water in double boiler 30 minutes or cook on slow fire, uncovered. Pack into greased metal can or mold. Cover with plastic and chill overnight or until firm. Slice 1/2 inch thick and brown in skillet. Serve with syrup.

Not sure if this was ever discussed...but has anyone read the book The Kingdom Keepers?? I bought it for my daughter...I have been reading it, and it really enjoyable. It's about these kids that have to solve a mystery at WDW...it has so many specific details to the parks that I feel like I am standing in the Magic Kingdom.

I would love to get his on a book on tape format for Kyle, I think I need to check into this. He would love it and so would I!!!!

Well Miss Smarty Pants I cooked them for over an hour becuse I hasd so many and it was in such a big pot :rolleyes2 !!! They weren't coming to a boil for a while so I turned them up and cooked them longer that way and then I had heard tho let them sit on the stove in warm for about 15 mins.. That equaled out to about an hour. Also I am very picky about boiled eggs and I have to have them 100% cooked no undone parts so I always cook them a little longer than most people...SO THERE!!! :teeth:

I just gave Carli and Kyle a nice long bath and now Kyle is sobbing in pain, saying his ear hurts....This may be a long night!!!! Croos your fingers that a little Motrin helps him through the night.....

Hope you guys have a great Easter!!!! What are you all doing???

Sending :wizard: for a good night and the ear pain to go away.

Hi all!

Sorry I missed the Minnie/Mickey talk last night! I almost spilled my Diet Coke all over the keyboard!!

While you were chatting we had our first fire in our outdoor fireplace last night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DH spent all last summer building our patio and the fireplace and we finally finished it the weekend before we went to WDW. By the time we got back it was too cold in the evenings to enjoy it :(. The whole block came down to help us celebrate- we had a ball!
Here's a picture of it:

Have a Happy Easter!!!!!!!!!

That looks great - we have a week off in May to sort out our back yard - but it's way to small to build anything like that :sad2: Can you cook on it?

Girl, I live in the deep south where it's almost 90 degrees and HUMID already. My behind will be inside as much as possible! It never fails when someone asks me when I'm due and I tell them Sept. 3rd the first thing they say is boy it's going to be a miserable summer for you

Honestly, I think it's a boy and I've thought that all along. It really doesn't matter to Brian or me either way. Christopher wanted a brother really bad until the other day when he said he wants a sister :confused3

Caroline is my first choice for a girl's name :) . What's her middle name?

Her full name is Caroline Grace but we almost never call her Caroline, and then she knows that we mean buisness!!!! She gets mad though because everybody mispells it. She is SO a Carli and not a Caroline, but I figure that when she is an important Doctor or Lawyer she can be Caroline. Our moms names are Carol and Linda so we told them that she is named after them but really it is after the Neil DIamond song Sweet Caroline ;) !!!!

I had Kyle July 2nd and I was miserable, so I feel your pain!!!

Julia annouced tonight that the Easter Bunny was going to put the Easter Egg hunt outside -

BUT the weather is calling for rain - so inside it is - so she might be disappointed -

she is also going to be sad b/c the Easter Bunny never found The Parent Trap - when my mom got to blockbuster - it was the old version and it was too late for me to check anywhere else!

I am just going to make her a certificate and tell her it is in the mail

I feel so bad, I saw it at Target today!!!! I can get it and sneak it to you on Monday!!!!

OK, once again about the eggs. My Name is Julie~NOT~ Julia Child :rotfl2: !!!

Hmm... I'll have to check! I'm home now to play with photoshop anyway (took lots of pictures at the zoo specifically to play!), so i'll look to see if I have the program as well. I can't wait to see what you come up with!
I wouldn't get too excited  :teeth: Kate has set that bar pretty high after all!

Will you show us what you do to the zoo pictures? I can't wait until I have some spare time on my hands to really have a play with photoshop - I want to try that selective colouring tutorial :goodvibes

How does a fireplace waste electricity?? I must be slow or something. But wouldn't it reduce your electricity costs if you have a wood burning one since you wouldn't have to use the electric heat as much, unless you don't have electric heat. I know you should put a blower on the fireplace to spread the heat but that doesn't take much electricity.

Can someone please explain.

I would love one of these although an outdoor fire circle surrounded by rocks is good enough for me.

Becky

while the fireplace is in use the heat tends to go up the flue (chimney) unless of course you have a blower that much is true. It seems that the area right in front of the fireplace is kept warm. Having a blower and fans to spread the heat further through the house is best and the house has to be very air tight

there are just some places that we like for lunch but we have to run to the non smoking section.
Thank goodness for protection :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

When I moved back to PA I could not understand why they kept asking smoking or non-smoking. Since in Florida since 2003 any restaurant that does a certain percentage of sales in food must be non-smoking. I forgot it was only Florida that had this legislation.

But if they're married, then how come they have two houses??

That's what I was wondering but even the current cartoons have them living in separate houses, so who knows. :confused3
