 Oh no Marti I think I did give you the lurgy :sad2: that's what I had. Get lots of sleep -I started the amoxy on Friday night and felt much better by Sunday - then I sat in front of the tv on Monday and was back to work Tuesday... I felt better by about the Wednesday.

:grouphug: :wizard: Feel better soon :wizard:

So its all your fault huh?? :teeth: I'm starting to feel better already, but I have a question for all of you nurses out there -

should my chest feel like there is an anvil on top of it?? I complained to the doctor and told him I kept massaging my left breast because either my heart of my lung hurt. He checked and said it must be a pulled pec muscle. But now my whole chest feels like a weight is sitting on it. Is this normal??

I'm back to my Easter questions :)

Does anyone have a cute Easter dessert recipe they want to share? I want something Christopher (5) and I can make together to serve with Easter lunch. I've found some things on Family Fun and Kraft, but nothing I really want to do yet.

I'll share one a mom made for Christopher's Easter party yesterday. I may make these if I don't find something I like better.

She frosted a cupcake with white frosting, then sprinkled pastel decorator's sugar on top. Then she placed a white Peep chick on top. Everyone thought she had bought them because they were so adorable!

Ok, here's what I do: I make JellO-Pudding eggs as place cards at the table. The recipe is so easy and very yummy! Christopher would be able to help you decorate them.

1 pkg. (4 serving size) instant pudding (any flavor)
1/3 cup boiling water
1/3 cup margarine, softened
3 C. powdered sugar
8 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Mix pudding mix, water and margarine in a bowl until smooth. Mix in powdered sugar one cup at a time, stirring until mixture forms a ball. Form into 1 1/2 inch egg shapes. Refrigrate until firm. Microwave chocolate for 2-3 minutes or until chocolate is almost melted, stirring after one minute. Stir until chocolate is completely melted. Dip eggs into melted chocolate; decorate as desired.

I usually use melted white chocolate to write people's names on the eggs for place cards, and let my kids sprinkle them with small candies. These are darling and yummy!

I also make Jell-O Beans using a mold I got from the jello website. I make them in all different colors and serve them like this. I place a large lettuce leaf on a small plate, then add a scoop of cottage cheese. Then I sprinkle the jello beans on top. If you don't have a mold, you should look into getting one. My kids adore these, and because I make them with sugar free jello, I feel ok with letting them eat them on a day when their sugar intake will be through the roof.

You can also go to the M&M's website, and they have darling desserts and treats for every holiday. There are darling bees and ladybugs made out of chocolates, etc. Cupcake recipes, and other cute things. I've tried several of them and they are fun and yummy.

You can make cupcakes and frost them white. Then using jellybeans, arrange them in flower shapes on top of the cupcakes. They turn out really cute!

This year I'm doing the strawberry daquiri cupcakes that were posted here earlier, and I'm going to raid my kids Easter baskets for goodies to decorate them with. I may let the kids do this as an after dinner activity.

Hope this helps!

Hi, everyone.

I just talked to the GI doctor. We are going to see him on Tuesday at 12:15pm. He is trying to figure out which test to run on Rees to see the status on his reflux and Fundoplication. Rees has severe anxiety and gets very upset at the hospital. All of the tests require Rees to drink something, which wouldn't work with sedation. So, he's looking into which test would be the least stressful for Rees and give him the information he needs. Everyone agrees that most likely the Fundo has failed and needs repairing. What he worried about is the possibility that the Fundo has also herniated into his chest. The surgeon would need to know that information before proceeding.

They have doubled his reflux meds to get us through the weekend, and if he has another bad episode before his appointment, we are to go to the ER. I am hoping we can schedule whatever test he decides to order for next week. Once we get the results we'll schedule surgery. John and I are estimating that surgery would be in the next 2-3 weeks with a 5-7 day hospital stay and then recovery at home. Rees also needs a tendon release on his foot (from the Cerebral Palsy), so we will contact the Orthopaedic surgeon to see if they can do them both at the same time.

Thank you again for all the prayers, calls, and support. It means so much to us all. And Happy Easter and Passover to all of our DDA friends!

Thanks for the update! We'll continue to pray for Rees, his doctors and you and the others. I hope that you can have a wonderful Easter weekend regardless of all that is going on.

Ok, I don't have time to catch up because we're grilling with my family and I'm starting late. But I just had to mention this:

curlywurly.jpg

I found them for only $0.59 (the real thing!)

And Marti wasn't kidding.... they are GOOD, and now Kyle understands why I always trek to the UK Pavilion every time we're at Epcot in hopes of finding them.

I am off to get my hair cut and colored. Can't wait to get this gray covered up!!!

Oh, I so need to do this! I was hoping to do it tomorrow, but things keep getting in the way! I'm going to try to snag DH into taking Katie to a birthday party so maybe I can sneak away tomorrow night. Of course, DH doesn't believe that I have any gray. Got to keep that illusion going! I also need to get my DPoodle clipped for Easter. That will probably have to be on Saturday! Keep your fingers crossed that I can get it all done. And in between, we have to color Easter eggs, have a mammoth hunt with all the cousins, nieces and nephews, a baptism to go to, Easter dinner to cook, etc., etc. Doesn't this ever get any easier? I'm just hoping I can find the time to do everything!

hmm... remind me which one that was again... :rotfl:

I have three assignments to write in three weeks and I'm scared stiff :scared1:

I must be good and do a little every day to get it done... and not spend hours on the DDA

Can't wait until the middle of May - then I have 4 months to do fun stuff like scrapping and finally printing my 2005 trip photos... and planning a trip for Pal Mickey to come stay.

:cheer2:

Ok, so the current goal that we should be checking on is whether you've worked on one of your assignments that day! :rotfl:Will do!!!!!!

I'll post it for you. I made them a couple of weeks ago and my kids loved them. They didn't like the taste of the rum extract, so this time I'm just leaving that out.

Strawberry Daiquiri Cake

Cake:
1 package of Supermoist White Cake Mix
3/4 cup water
1 package (0.14 oz) of strawberry Kool-aid mix (powder)
1 tablespoon grated lime peel
3/4 teaspoon rum extract
1 10 oz carton of frozen sliced strawberries, thawed and undrained.
3 eggs

Lime Frosting:
1 tub vanilla frosting (I like the pourable kind best)
2 teaspoons grated lime peel

1. Heat oven to 350. Grease bottom of 13x9 inch pan or line cupcake pan with liners. (will make 24 cupcakes)
2. In large bowl beat all cake ingredients with electic mixer on low for 30 seconds, then beat on medium speed for an additional 2 minutes scraping the bowl occasionally.
3. For cake cook 30-35 minutes. For cupcakes cook 18-25 minutes. Both are done when toothpick comes out clean. Let cool for 15 minutes before icing
4. Mix remaining 2 tablespoons of lime peel into icing and stir. It helps to heat the icing for about 20 seconds in the microwave first, and makes it easier to poor or spoon onto the cake.
5. Top with fresh, sliced strawberries.

Note: I put strawberries on the pieces I serve so the left over ones don't go bad. I also keep leftovers of this cake in the fridge, it keeps a lot better.

You have some gorgeous kids!!!!!

Denise - It's good to hear that you finally got some answers, be them good or bad. It's always reassuring to see an end result in sight. I love the pics too! Karate looked like it was fun cuz you can see it in your children's faces!

Curly Whirly's are officially going on my "What to buy in EPCOT" list for our trip in September...right under pearl shopping in Japan. :lmao:

- - - - -

I hope everyone's day was uneventful. I had a meeting today at our main office, which is a 45 minute drive from home :scared1: . (Thank goodness for paid milage!) Drive home took me an hour and a half . WHY do people have to literally stop their cars to see an accident on the other side of the freeway?! I could never understand that.
Also waiting on news from Delta. Their statement for strike or not should be out either tomorrow or Monday. I'm hoping tomorrow, because that means that they arn't waiting until last minute...
Bob also came home today informing me that they've cut all overtime where he works (CNC Machinist, factory of 12 people). He's going from a 65 hour work week to a 40 hour work week. :sad2: We are already learning how to stretch a dollar. He actually asked me for my coupon box today. :rotfl: He's never used a coupon in his life. Should be interesting.

Denise,
Here's hoping it all goes well and taken care of soon. That way Rees will be ready for whenever you decide to travel to WDW.

Have a good weekend with family and friends

Those are adorable!!!

How did the boys like karate? Jacob just started this year. He just got his yellow (gold?) belt Monday. He loves it, and his instructor is just the best! It's really helped his self-esteem.

I'm sure it would still be yummy. It just wouldn't have the citrus burst. I got a zester for a wedding present, but I really never use it. Just this last year, I bought myself a microplane since I've been using a lot of recipes that call for freshly grated ginger (I couldn't believe the difference that made in the recipes). I use it for grating citrus peel, as well. It reallly wasn't that expensive, either. I think it was about 2.50.
