I promised some photos earlier so dh and I took a stroll down memory lane tonight. It was very nice as my parents took all 3 boys for a sleepover at their house tonight. So here goes my little stroll down memory lane with a disney time line:

This is a photo of Chris and I at the Alter on our Wedding day, July 25, 1992.

This is us walking into the reception

Here is a photo of us with some large stuffed Mickey and Minnies. It is strange how the characters have changed so much in just 14 years, but then again so have we.
63925Deb_and_Chris_Honeymoon_web-med.jpg

And here was our deluxe honeymoon suite :rotfl2: Fort Wilderness. We had very little money at the time and neither of us had been to Disney before. It was just fine and started our Disney obsession. Who'd have thought then that we would buy DVC? I guess we're moving up in the world. :thumbsup2

This was our first Disney Vacation as a family. April 1998. Fort Wilderness Cabins that trip. Nick was 2 1/2 and after getting lost at MCO he was put on a leash for our sanity. Hunter was just 6 months on this trip.

Here we are in April 2000. We stayed off site at the Holiday Inn Family Suites which is now the Nicholodeon Suites. It was less than $100/night for 9 of us. :thumbsup2 Nick was 4 1/2 and Hunter was 2 1/2. Amazing how our family had grown.

Here we are in November 2001. We drove down with our Motor Home and stayed at Fort Wilderness. Most people, including us were afraid to fly at that time. This was right after 9/11 so the parks were pretty slow that year. We were there over Thankgiving and got to do the first MVMCP that year. It was great seeing all the christmas decorations and Osburne Lights.
63925Disney_Nov_2001_web.jpg

This photo included our newest family member. This was August 2003. Nick was almost 8, Hunter almost 6 and Colby 9 months. We drove down again, this time with our new travel trailer and stayed at Fort Wilderness. The shirts that all my guys are wearing were ones that I made. I couldn't get enough material to make one for myself, but those shirts got a ton of attention.

Next trip was July 2004. Drove again with our Travel Trailer. Had to get another trip out of those APs. Nick was 8, Hunter was 6 and Colby was 1. Those are one of the T-shirts that I designed prior to meeting you guys :teeth:

And this is last trip October 2005. We stayed at Pop Century and POFQ. Went to our first MNSSHP and had a wonderful time. Nick was 10, Hunter turned 8 the day we flew home and Colby was almost 3. These are our tie dye Mickey shirts.

.

Our next trip will be our first trip home. Wow how times have changed.
Thanks for humoring my trip down memory lane.

Deb

That's like Florida. Florida is very much a northern state but slowed down. But that is because no one is originally from there. Everyone is a transplant into the state and originally from somewhere else.

When I lived down there I probably met about 50 people who were originally born and grew up in Florida and never lived elsewhere. Makes for a very interesting culture. Especially of people who can't drive because everyone learned to drive elsewhere. :rotfl2:

Becky

You can add me to your list of people you know from Florida. I was born in St Pete but moved away when I was 7 years old.

night all I will try to catch up with you all on monday. I work tomorrow.

Very cute picture Amy -

I don't ever remember meeting a character when I was younger!! I don't think they were really around then!!

I've been good today. I've gotten lots of pictures organized. Becky is helping me by scanning the pictures. I need to work with her to get them named and dated properly.

For Katrina's graduation, I had to scramble to get all the pictures in the frame where there is a slot for each year. I found the pictures and my BIL put them in the frames the day of graduation. We also had to sort through boxes of pictures trying to find some good ones to post on a bulletin board.

I'm hoping to have everything so organized for Becky's graduation next year, that there is no last minute picture stuff. I'm really hoping to have a family powerpoint presentation put together that I can have running during her party. The week-end of Becky's graduation next year is also my 25th wedding anniversary week-end. We'll probably have both celebrations that week-end so that family only have to travel once. I can't believe that I'm actually getting them organized!!! If all goes well, I will be putting together a family presentation of my growing up years for my brother, sister & mother for Christmas.

I also got all the laundry done today except for Chuck's towels for his basement bathroom. I'll do those in the morning. I have gotten all the laundry done every week-end for the last 3 or 4 months. That is also big for me. I would get it all washed but it would lay unfolded on the couch for weeks sometimes.

Yay! That's wonderful! Sounds like you are really organized! Congratulations on the laundry. That is one major hurdle to overcome.

We had a nice evening. Dinner turned out pretty good and Alyssa absolutely loved playing with Alex (she's a 4th grader). Debbie said she was looking for a "sign" this week, with where to move (they're currently in an apartment), and then I sent her an email updating her on our situation. :goodvibes She loves our house, the price is right...she just has to decide if she wants Alex in the school district we live (and she works--secretary at the middle school) in. She promised she was going to do some soul-searching and she said she'll let us know soon, since obviously we need to contact a realtor, if she decides not to move to Sharonville.

Like I said last night, I'm trying not to get my hopes up! Please keep us in your thoughts! :wizard:

Thanks!
Amy :)

Seems like everyone is in a cleaning mood today. I cleaned out the closet (and can now see the floor!) and took 6 bags of clothes, 2 lamps and a 3x6ft painting to Good Will.

I'd love to post a pic from when I went to Epcot in 87, but I was Mom's third child and had the least amount of photos taken.

UP: Congrats on finishing the laundry! I know what that's like too!

Alyssa was born a week early on 04/03/04...so close! At least there were a few more 4's since the time was 4:14 a.m. :teeth:

Whoa, Matthew better not even think about 06/06/06!!!

Amy :)

I was being sarcastic too and teasing you! I thought that it was you and tinker1bell had told the story. Tinker1bell did come on and tell me it was her and that she still swears that no one got trampled. I teased her again. You'll see the postings eventually as you catch up!

Actually, I think your story about Mickey is even funnier now that I know you were the one teasing her about the bus. A case of the pot calling the kettle black, I think!!! :rotfl2:

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Yes, it was a lot like that!!! Especially since she knew the Mickey story....

I'm so bad.....

Funny you should say that. I thought the same thing too. I went back to look for pictures of me at Disney World when I was there with my family in 1976 and on my senior class trip in Spring 1979. Couldn't find any of me except long distance at Blizzard Beach. However, I did find two pictures of characters. One was Mickey Mouse and the other is Pooh & Tigger while on my senior class trip. Weird. I don't even remember seeing them when I was there!

What is the vinegar used for? I saw it over by the easter things and wondered. We loved Easter in SA, they had the most wonderful eggs, they looked like real eggs with a hard white candy white a thin layer of chocolate and then were hollow - yummy.

The vinegar is to set the color.

Looks I may be in for a bad night...my girls share a room...the oldest is at a sleepover. Kirsten has decided she's afraid to sleep alone. Mind you she has slept alone numerous times...she's already working herself up.."can I sleep in your bed" Bill didn't have a happy look on his face....I knew I was in trouble when he put on aftershave a little while ago...think he had other ideas. :teeth: Oh well...what's a mom to do?!

I still have my autograph book from the first time I ever went to Disney and it has tons of autograph's in it. We went for my 10th b-day in 1985. I was such a geek, not only did I get character's autographs but I remember getting the pilot on the planes autograph, the juggler in Epcot's autograph, etc. etc. !!!

Amy you look adorable in that picture!!!

You look incredible!!! I would never have guessed 61. No way. :yay: :yay: :yay: 06/06/06. Kate's going to have a ball with that!!!

You know, I never even thought about the 06/06/06!! I guess I can't see past the 62 (the number that is most prevalent in my life).
