What a gorgeous shirt!!!!! Oh, the cupcakes are awesome too! Glad that no firemen had to be called!!!! What else did you cook?

A 20 pound turkey, fresh green beans, baby carrots with maple glaze, corn, mashed potatoes, stuffing and gravy. We sent them home with left overs and she promised to make a turkey pot pie for us. She asked if I've ever made one and of course I said "Does it look like I have Martha freakin Stewart stamped on my forehead?" We laughed!! (its true, but we laughed!)

I think that's why I feel like I fit in so well here. We all have so many of the same qualities. Did you ever feel like you didn't fit in anywhere? Well, the DIS (specifically DDA) is the one place that I truly feel like I fit in.
:woohoo:

As long as everyone knows that I'm trying to be a smarty pants, and not cruel, I guess I'm ok.

Glynis, I'm really not sure anyone could mistake you for cruel! :teeth:

Good evening everyone

Man - I am TIRED!! But we had a GREAT day!!!

then we had brunch - this is what my MIL prepared:
Pasta salad, caeser salad, eggs, goetta, a spinach and egg quiche, a mushroom and egg quiche, ham, cinnamon rolls, regular rolls, and another roll but I forget what it was. The amount of food was sincerely obsene!! When we were done we could have fed an army with the leftovers - and then she says

Who wants dessert - she had a cheesecake tray assortment - I felt horrible b/c none of us could eat another bite!!
I hope you all had a wonderful day!!

Sorry to hear about your knee, I hope you can quickly train it to stop misbehaving.

Talk about having a large variety of food. Here is our extensive list. This is short for my Mom normally we have a larger variety and more desserts.

Turkey, Ham, Potato Filling, Sweet Potatoes, Corn, green beans, broccoli with cheese, carrots, spinach dip with beer bread, Grand’s biscuits, honey lemon muffins, homemade strawberry jelly, homemade, apple butter, macaroni salad, cole slaw, pepper cabbage, deviled eggs, Jello eggs, Pink cement, turtle brownies, pineapple sour cream pie, rice krispy treats, cheesecake, peanut butter pie, angel food cake, sugar cookies, peanut butter eggs, cherry cream eggs, coconut cream eggs and butter cream eggs. I think that covers everything.

She always sends everyone home with leftovers and also takes some to the one neighbor whose wife died about a year ago.

I went to 8am church, than I helped my Mom get lunch together for the 15 people she was hosting. We ate lunch around 12:45, played some card games, watched Narnia and Toy Story 2 with my Mom’s friend’s kids. Somewhere in the we had dessert, it is separated from the meal so that we can actually eat it. I took my grandmother back to her nursing home and had dinner. I attempted to nap and then I went to work and I just got back from work.

Becky

I am bag on page 1383 so I have a bit to catch up on.

Clare- Did you get to cleaning the loft yet?

I showed DH the signature that Kate made me before I left for work and he decided to read a few posts. Well he read about the Turtle and was asking what you all meant by it. I told him, babe, they are talking about “Your Boom”. He laughed.

Kate- DH sends his sincere thanks for the signature; he is going to put it in our emailing signature also. And yes he did about off load some fecal matter he was so happy.

Kristine- sorry about your son and the ticket. He will always be your son, but he is on his way to becoming a man and that means his has to have his dork-a-sorus moments. I must say Dr. Laura came to mind.

Did you post about using rub on tan? This was my thoughts onthat: I was a bit worried about you being so white down in sunny FL, at least now the other DDA cult members won’t hide from you.

Happy Anniverary

I'll have you know I did NOT get Chick Fil A for b'fast today. But I will make sure to tell you when I do!

I wouldn't expect anything less!

Sorry to post and go... we're having more company in less than an hour. Catch up with you later.

Oh - and we're having hot dogs, hamburgers, broccoli salad,on-the-grill potatoes, baked beans, fresh fruit salad and of course... Dole Whips for desert!!

OMG! If they were to ask me of all the people on the DDA which is the least likely to be cruel, I'd have to say Glynis. It is so obvious from all your posts how sensitive & caring a person you are. I love all the people on this thread but you have always stood out to me as an extra special caring person. I don't think you have to worry about anyone ever thinking you are cruel.

Y'all are killing me this morning with all the food talk! Sounds like you had a great Easter too, Becky. And I'm glad your grandmother got to come too.

Let me share my day.....

...

This is why we bought this house. The kids had a ball in the back yard. The inlaws had a place to smoke :smokin: We had 16 people when we expected 9 and it was no big deal. Just pull up a chair or sit on the sofa and pull up a tv tray or sit on the deck and take your plate and smoke.... There was still plenty of food, some had plates of food to take with, so my DSIL cooked enough.... Everybody gets along, and it is so nice that my DSIL has so much family right near us.

It was such a good holiday. I am blessed. :cloud9: :cloud9:

Sounds like you had a good time! I'm glad the weather was nice and you were have the yard for extra space to enjoy one another's company! :goodvibes

***Your Birthdate: July 20***

You are a virtual roller coaster of emotions, and most people enjoy the ride.

Your mood tends to set the tone of the room, and when you're happy, this is a good thing.

When you get in a dark mood, watch out - it's very hard to get you out of it.

It's sometimes hard for you to cheer up, and your gloom can be contagious.

Your strength: Your warm heart

Your weakness: Trouble controlling your emotions

Your power color: Black

Your power symbol: Musical note

Your power month: February

I don’t know how much of this is true, but it is rather interesting.

Thanks! Yes, I broke the VHS copy. I'd like DVD, but those are really expensive since it's "in the Vault" again. Off to check now.
Denise - I was just about to offer you mine as I have VHS and DVD - then realised our video systems are different so it wouldn't work...

the thought was there though!

Hope you find a copy - that's my favourite Disney movie :goodvibes

Steffy,

Sounds like you had a house full of fun and love! Great Easter!

First off - there is no such thing as a midwest accent - people on tv talk like ME!!! :thumbsup2

and I would take great offense at the crocs comment - except I wore them with my easter outfit today - yes a balck and white skirt and balck top with my tie dyed crocs - my knee couldn't handle the heels - so I just told everyone I was wearing easter egg shoes!!!

My tid dye crocs went on the minute we got home from church. I love both the knock off's and the real ones. I have to alternate between them so neither one feels neglected!

Steve asked me today if I ever have non-Disney thoughts

I wasn't sure how to answer him!!

We had the same conversation! :rotfl:

Troy (BIL) and I were singing with the kiddos at Kyle's grandmas yesterday. One of them wanted to sing Under the Sea, and when I knew the words, they were quiet impressed.

Kyle told his family that he's pretty sure I think about Disney more than anything else, including him.

He's probably right. Are we hopeless? :rotfl:

Tia,

Thanks for the reminder about Half.com. I just got the DVD (just the single disk) for $11 including shipping from a buyer with 99.7% positive feedback. I appreciate the help. Between the stroller and this, you're really helping me spend my money!

Alan asks that question all the time. I tell him, No. My happiness revolves around all things Disney. Luckily, though he doesn't share my obsession, he will "enable" it. Hee, hee.
