Good evening everyone

Man - I am TIRED!! But we had a GREAT day!!!

Yesterday was so beautiful that we had our windows open and ate outside - our lawn guy was here yesterday - so you can imagine the sore throat, runny nose and itchy eyes I woke up to this morning - A Claritin-D quickly cleared it all up (Just file this for the rest of the story!)

The kids loved their Easter baskets and Easter Egg hunt - Julia was even okay with her note from the EB saying he would bring Parent Trap back to her once his DVD maker was fixed!!!

We then headed to my in-laws for brunch - they went all out - there were 6 adults and my 2 kids there

the kids had another egg hunt and the adults enjoyed mimosas as we watched (remember that Claritin-D?!!?) - Nick was also so excited b/c my MIL had a dancing bunny with an egg in its hand and the egg pops open during the song and out comes a ducky!! He finally got his ducky out of an egg!!!!

then we had brunch - this is what my MIL prepared:
Pasta salad, caeser salad, eggs, goetta, a spinach and egg quiche, a mushroom and egg quiche, ham, cinnamon rolls, regular rolls, and another roll but I forget what it was. The amount of food was sincerely obsene!! When we were done we could have fed an army with the leftovers - and then she says

Who wants dessert - she had a cheesecake tray assortment - I felt horrible b/c none of us could eat another bite!!

Their kitchen is upstairs and we ate downstairs so by the time I had chased my kids up and down the steps 3 or 4 times - my knee decided it was done for the day! and at about the same time - the claritin-D and Mimosa decided they didn't mix well and I was on the verge of a food coma!!! Luckily - they were all very understanding as I lay on the couch doing everything in my power not to just fall asleep and they even chased my kids for me!!

On to my parents house for dinner and luckily I was able to get a little rest in the 1/2 hour car ride and arrived there feeling a little better.

We had another Easter Egg hunt - my dad is the MASTER of hiding easter eggs - he loves to use tape when hiding - I have seen him make contraptions to hang eggs in places and one year - he taped one inside the register - the older we got the harder he worked to hide them - a normal Easter egg hunt at our house lasts an hour for 12 eggs each - but it is always a blast -

we had 4 hunting for eggs - ages 2, 4, 8 & 10 - my dad offers a reward to the first person to find all of their eggs - The ten yo was sure the money was his! What he didn't know was my dad's hiding curve usually means the youngest will always win - which Nick did - when he found his last egg - he promptly screamed - Nicky wins, Nicky wins - it was so cute!!

After dinner - my knee became very angry with me and I had my first all out collapse and fell (I have caught myself every other time) - thankfully I didn't get hurt and didn't have anyone or anything in my hands - but I finally realized why the doctor told me to quit carrying my kids around!! Now if only they understood!!!

We came home and Nick was out in about 2 seconds - Julia might be on a sugar high b/s she can't sit still long enough to fall asleep!!

I hope you all had a wonderful day!!

Sounds like you had a great day - please be careful with that knee Kate - wouldn't want you or those cute kids of yours getting hurt. Can you wear a brace or something like Julie said?

Most of you who have been on here for a while and especially the past few months will probably remember that my Mom has been steadily declining in health. Well, tonight she died. It was not really unexpected nor sudden, but it hurts, nonetheless. Bob and I were going to PA to visit her and his parents this coming Friday. I guess we will be going sooner now. Please keep my brother in Boston and my sister in Allentown in your thoughts as we all all be traveling at some time this week.

ELin - I'm so sad to hear your news - take care and I will be thinking of you :grouphug:

OK, I actually need help with something. I have not been to a funeral since my Dad died 14 years ago. Add to that the fact that I have recently lost 35 pounds. Is it appropriate to wear slacks to a funeral? I am talking good quality, lined dress slacks. Is it more correct to wear a dress? Should it be black? I think I am going to have to find time in the next day or so to go buy something and I want to make certain I don't spend money foolishly and buy something I can't wear any other time. Thanks for your help.

Elin - I'm sure someone already answered this but I think slacks are more than suitable and as to whether your outfit is black or not, go with what's in your heart.

I only say this because I chose to wear a pink top to my nan's funeral as I wanted to remember the happy times, when I got to the house before everyone else was wearing black so I changed. My grandad had been in a bad way since she died and hadn't really spoken clearly to anyone - anyway I walked back into the room and he looked right at me and said - why have you taken off that pretty top? Go put it back on. So I wore pink to my Nan's funeral, and when the sad day came that we buried my grandad I made sure I bought a new pink top to wear.

Glad to hear you had such a nice Easter - but uh oh - the knee sounds like its giving you a run for your money (another saying Clare!). But you are correct, right now the knee brace isn't a good thing. But I would check with him what he thinks about WDW.

SNAP! We use that one here :goodvibes

Thanks. Yes, he wants A LOT more turtle time lately. He says he feels like he's having an affair or something. Well, as long as it's an affair with me, I'm ok with it!

First off - there is no such thing as a midwest accent - people on tv talk like ME!!! :thumbsup2

and I would take great offense at the crocs comment - except I wore them with my easter outfit today - yes a balck and white skirt and balck top with my tie dyed crocs - my knee couldn't handle the heels - so I just told everyone I was wearing easter egg shoes!!!

:rotfl: :rotfl:

Oh you are so going to wear crocs to Julia's wedding :rotfl:

Okay, I hope this idea doesn't make me a bad person, but get your dr. to write you a note for a wheelchair-- or whatever a person needs to rent a wheelchair at WDW.

I'm not advocating that you use it at every park, but for AK which is all walking and totally exhausting it could be useful. Plus, you could get to the front of the EE line. And the other ladies could be with you.

Is that terrible of me to suggest?

Jennifer

I was gonna suggest it to...

Ouch! I hope that your knee is feeling okay today. Gotta love having others around to chase the kids for awhile.

Anybody know where to find a copy of Beauty and the Beast? I, uh, kinda broke the kids' copy this weekend. Now I'm in the dog house! Anywhere other than Ebay?

You need VHS right? It's still associated with eBay, but www.half.com has some copies. A new, in shrink wrap, copy is about $6, plus shipping. I have successfully purchased from half.com sellers on many occassions.

Just wanted to say that I enjoyed looking at the pictures of the delicious cupcakes & the beautiful eggs! Sounds like you all had a nice Easter & all the kiddos were pleased :goodvibes

Tia our schedules are totally different lol We are staying at AKL, so maybe on the day you are spending at AK we can meet there in the morning?

Oh no! Keep me posted on what you do decide and we can work something out. Our AK day will be all day through the parade so just let me know what works for you.

I am so envious! I love Boston Market ham!!! Unfortunately, we no longer have any Boston Markets around here. So, we had to make do with one that I cooked. Poor us!

I didn't get any. :( Unfortunately, they only do ham for orders and catering anymore. I had been hoping they would have it as a special for Easter. Instead I had chicken, but still yummy.

That's Matt's future wife! (he just doesn't know it yet :teeth: ) She was in Matt's first grade class and is being raised by her grandparents (long story). We've hit it off with them and love hanging around with them. She and Matt act like they are already married - bickering etc. It's really cute!

That was going to be my guess! :) It looks like you had a great day.

Took me almost an hour to catch up, and now I have to get ready for work. :confused3
Elin - Wear whatever you want! (Even though it's been answered already!) When my grandpa passed away, everyone when casual...jeans, t-shirts, etc...Grandpa was always casual in life, and that's the way we wanted to celebrate his life. People still comment to me today at how great his funeral was (sounds weird huh?) But everyone was so relaxed there. We knew he was in peace.

Tia and Tink- Just let me know what day you guys want to get together. My schedule is adjustable! Tia, one of us is gonna have to bring a large towel for Spectro and Wishes for the 7th! I hope the 4 of us can fit comfortably on the bench where we can see everything!

Denise - Cute turtles. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

Kate - Sounds like you had a great Easter!

Glynis - You look great!!! :woohoo:

To everyone else: :grouphug: :cheer2: :hippie:  :cool1:   :wave2:  :flower3:  pixiedust: :fish: :disrocks:
