Well, Easter is officially over at our house. 4 very happy, sugared-up kids have finally fallen asleep.
Alan and I decided long ago to keep the Easter baskets hidden until after church, so our kids could focus more on the religious aspect of the holiday for the first part of the day. Unfortunately, that means the kids were really antsy to get home after church. Add to that, the fact that Jacob lost his first tooth this morning, and we had one excited little boy! Alan tied a piece of dental floss around the tooth, and gave a yank and out it popped. Too bad that the tooth flew out of the floss and we can't find it! Good thing the Tooth Fairy accepts a note explaining the situation.
At church all the children sang 2 songs that I've been working on with them. The second number was accompanied by hand bells, and it sounded so good! I was so proud of all the kids; they did so well and were so serious about it.
After church we came home, and the kids were able to finally hunt for their baskets. Luckily, the EB didn't hide them in hard to find places, so they were able to find them quickly. They looked through their loot while I pulled the ham out of the oven, and threw the rolls in. 20 minutes later we were eating. Katie proclaimed it the "best Easter meal of my life!" High praise from her as she hates ham.
After dinner, we watched Leslie's new movie, Thumbelina, while the kids colored, and munched on candy. I managed to bag up all the candy from their baskets so I can regulate how much they eat each day.
Tonight, we pieced on deviled eggs, strawberry daquiri cake and watched Narnia. It was a good day! No fighting (that's a huge deal, here, lately), and all kids were thrilled with their baskets!
Marti - I did get pictures taken, and will post them tomorrow! I'm too exhausted tonight!
See you all in the morning!
