Hi Guys;

We just got some bad news tonight about our 4 year old dog Cody. He is a big Golden Labrador Retriever.

Dave took him to the vet today for his regular check-up and shots and they felt a lump on the top of his hind legs. They did a needle biopsy to see if it was anything to be concerned about.

We went out for a quick dinner and when we got home there was a message from the Vet asking us to call them immediately. We called and they said that it was a tumor of some sort w/many active cells to it. I don't think that it sounds too good by what she said. We have to take him in right away to have the tumor removed and sent to a pathologist. If it is benign that will be all that we have to do, if it is malignant there is not much they can do.

He is the absolute best dog in the world, he is so gentle and loving. He looks after the kids and lets them do anything to him. I don't know what I would do without him!!!

I am also worrying about how much this will cost, I mean we already paid almost $300 for today. Obviously though we will do anything that we can do for him!!!

I know that in light of all of the many hardships that I have heard about on this board this may sound trivial, but he is such a big part of our family!!! If anyone can spare a prayer or two I would very much appreciate it!!!

Thanks,

Julie

Julie -- the animals that we choose to bring into our families are not a triviality by any means. We love them and want them to be our companions for a very long time. Here is some pixiedust: that the biopsy will come back in Cody's favor.

That's part of my problem, I already do to much so I can't see my ideas through. But I also found another part of my problem, it is the day I was born. :rotfl: It is quite scary how accurate it is.

Neat

Your Birthdate: September 28

You have a Type A personality so big it makes other Type A's shrink away in shame. You never shy away from adversity - and you love to tackle impossible problems. Failure is not an option for you, and more than a few people are put off by your ego.You tend to be controlling, and you hate leaving anything up to chance.

Your strength: Your bold approach to life

Your weakness: You don't accept help

Your power color: Bronze

Your power symbol: Pyramid

Your power month: October

I am not sure what to think. I do not think of myself as a Type A person. I will ask Steffy. :lmao: :lmao:

Your Birthdate: August 11

Spiritual and thoughtful, you tend to take a step back from the world.
You're very sensitive to what's going on around you, yet you remain calm.
Although you are brilliant, it may take you a while to find your niche.
Your creativity is supreme, but it sometimes makes it hard for you to get things done.

Your strength: Your inner peace

Your weakness: You get stuck in the clouds

Your power color: Emerald

Your power symbol: Leaf

Your power month: November

Your creativity is supreme, but it sometimes makes it hard for you to get things done. this one had me cracking up - maybe that is why I have so many different things on my plate!!

I am sure someone here could come up with a gift certificate of some sort. They do have wdw gift cards though. Which are not the same as Disney store gift cards.

Boy you were chatty, I go to work for 8 hours and come home to 322 new posts. We will be at 21,000 posts till Sunday at this rate. :lmao:
Becky

That's because the Disney Store is now owned by Childrens Place.

So I've been ruined by the turtle talk last night. Tonight a girl in her late teens or twenties comes into work with a green shirt on. The back of the shirt has two turtles on top of each other, doing you know what. I burst out laughing I could not help myself and was given a very weird look.

Hopefully if Denise gets a turtle Tattoo it will not be this. :rotfl2:

On a more serious Disney note, this little boy kept asking to go look at the suitcases. He kept insisting that she buy him a suitcase. I only want a small one.

Why do you want a suitcase. For school, but also when I go see Mickey Mouse.

She told him He didn't need one but he insited for quite a while he needed a suitcase, he was very nice about it no temper tantrum or anything but he really wanted a suitcase.

Becky

I sure hope Denise doesn't get a tatoo with turtles doing EEEEwwww!! Can you imagine the little figs asking her what they are doing and trying to explain that one!!!!

I think if you have to ask somene else then you are definitely NOT a Type A ;)

Julie - Sorry to hear about Cody. Pets are not just animals, they become part of the family. Hope the results come back negative & all is o.k.

Julie,

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

When Gilmor had failing kidneys, if we could have afforded almost $4000 we would have tried a transplant.
To help Cobain stop getting infections and crystals forming we went ahead with the reconstructive surgery that means he has a hole of sorts and no more pee pee and no more pom poms.
It was worth the over $600 since he has lived 6 more years.
That is always the hardest decision. You hate like heck to even be thinking about the money part of it. You will know what to do when you find out the results.

Kate - Just keep swimmin..just keep swimmin... THANK YOU KATE! (Now if I could only find it on her photobucket account!!! She still hasn't pm'd it to me! :cool1: )
Oddly enough, I can picture you scooping your kids up in a big hug and smelling them. :) Yep, that sounds weird when I read it twice.

Robyn - It's my job! No need to thank me. :teeth: All I ask is a thank you note or a postcard from DW!

Denise - We are on Airtran from Akron to Atlanta to Orlando. Arrive into MCO at 1:39pm.

So Kate, you still around? I'm gonna go hunt on your photobucket account again...

Kate did a great job on you siggie!!! Love it!!!

Kate you and I got exactly the same thing. It appears it is just done by the day, since we are both born on the 11th of different months.

I checked and it is just done by the day. Yeah well, it is still pretty accurate, at least for me and some others.

Congratulations. Very cool design!! Are you guys doing these on photoimpact?

Deb

I am doing my "animations" (if you can call them that) on Photoshop. But I haven't downloaded a gif animator yet, so they're pretty simple! :)

Prayers & pixie dust that it is benign. Dogs & cats are very important in families. There is something very comforting about having them around.

Just back. Rees was really anxious which turned out to be a good thing. Said they'd request mainstream classroom and have him not pulled out of class for any help as they're afraid it'll just make him that much more nervous. Instead, have the resource teacher and therapists come to him in class. I'm very pleased.

Asked about Disney, and they will actually approve his trip because he is Special Needs and has anxiety disorder. Said it was much more important for him to go when it wouldn't stress him out and be low crowds. I just have to tell them when, and they'll write the letter. Said it would completely excuse all 3 kids for a week! So look at my ticker now!

Off to Target to shop for the Easter Bunny. Be back later.

ETA: now y'all have got to help me plan costumes again!

I'm so glad it went well today! :goodvibes

I don't want to miss anyone else who is traveling...

...and Happy Passover to those who are celebrating another way...
