OK, I'm really psyched!! I just talked to DH, and he agreed we should book a trip in September to take advantage of free dining (assuming I can get it tomorrow). I am looking at Sept 16 - 24. We have 9 nights booked with rented DVC points at Beach Club Villas in January for the 1/2 Marathon, so I am looking at a value resort for this September trip.

I need to hear the pros and cons between All Star Movies and Pop Century. We stayed at Pop in Dec '04 and liked it, but DH suggested trying somewhere new. Of the All Stars, Movies appeals to me the most. Does anyone have any experience that would sway me towards All Star Movies or Pop Century for this trip?

Of course this is all dependent on there being availability of the Free Dining at one of those resorts. And our dates could be flexible if necessary to get the Free Dining.

Hi, Ellen,

If you get to choose, I would go with Pop. I've never stayed at ASMo, but have stayed 1 night at Pop. I think the theme is more "adult", you don't share buses, and the rooms likely don't have as much wear and tear since they're newer.

I will probably never stay at ASMo after the horror my BIL and SIL went through last December there - they had a stay like you read about on the resorts board, and figure have to be urban legend. I wouldn't have believed it if it wasn't them! In a nutshell (without grossing anyone out), think bodily fluids in bedding, gross room, and my nephew ALMOST swallowing someone's pill that was left on the floor (thank goodness he'd only made it through the protective outer coating before his parents got ahold of him).

Guess what? I finally finished it! My trip report... :woohoo: I just managed to write the final 7 days in the last 3 hours... obviously the posts aren't as long as the earlier ones, in fact one day I lost the plot entirely and couldn't remember what we did at all! That last week we were both so exhausted from packing in so much in the first two weeks that we spent a lot of time sleeping!

The moral of the story is that I need to take time out of the day - everyday - on our next trip no matter how tired I am to write the report, because I've forgotten so many details... but it's done, and I can add it to my wedding photos so when I'm old and grey I can re-read it and remember the memories

We have been to AS Movies & we liked it. We stayed in Toy Story building which was a nice location because my kids love that movie. It was too cold to swim but the pool was nice looking. The food court was very good. I remember not waiting on line very long there. The room was big enough..we had our DS (then 6 months) in a crib in between the 2 beds & it was fine. We also got alot of towel animals there too..didn't get any at POR.
We'd stay there again but we are now 5 so 1 room there is out.

WTG Clare!!!!! I'm on my way over to read the rest of it now. You can also edit your signature and remove the "work in progress" bit.

What's your next goal going to be? :rotfl:

I love it! It is just too adorable!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

Can I ask you one tiny favor? Could you do one that says "Denise" and uses Scriptina font so I could have it for my email? Nobody in "real" life knows who Triplefigs is. :confused3 Just noticed the 2 signatures are dancing together.

No need for laughter - I do have one  Besides writing 3 assignments in the next 4 weeks I really want to scrap the photos from our vow renewal for my MIL and have it printed as a book. That's the practice run before I do our real ceremony photos :goodvibes

How many of us are in the midwest? Have we heard from everybody yet? If you know somebody that may have been affected, please have them post it they are ok.

I am from the Midwest :goodvibes
The bad stuff was way south of here! We got a lot of rain, but it is making the grass look pretty again!

Didn't someone (I'm thinking Kate) post pictures and step by step instructions from start to finish? I'm sure that would help!

Kate/Denise/Marti - love the new signatures!

Glad everyone is OK from the storms last night.

I was on spring break and the sirens woke Kevin up but not me. He turned on the news and saw they were saying the tornado was heading to our street! He tried to wake me up, but I wasn't very cooperative. The tornado ended up destroying houses further down our street in Blue Ash, which is lucky for us, since it took him so long to convince me to go to the basement.

And yes, if anyone would like to hear the sirens at noon on Wednesday, I'll PM you my phone number! :rotfl:

Amy :)

Yikes!! Tornadoes are my biggest phobia. One came through the Chicago area in 1990, but south of me. (Kristine, down in Plainfield- remember?) I remember driving down with my HS girlfriends to check out the damage :sad2:
I live .5 mile from a fire station so the sirens are loud here too! They did go off once right after we moved here in '04- the sky was green and the clouds were swirling but nothing ever touched down. I was in the basement with Kyle (who was about 14 months old), my old beagle (rest her soul :goodvibes ) and DH stood on the front lawn with all the neighbors going "ooh- look at that!" :rotfl2:

Sorry. The laughter wasn't about you setting a goal but me getting on your case already when you just completed your last one. I should have been just celebrating with you rather than pushing you! I guess it's the mom in me!

Hi everyone. Don't die of shock, but I'm back!!!!!

First of all, I apologize for not letting anyone know about leaving. My dad was called out of the country for work, and he asked me to look after my mom. She has diabetes, heart problems, etc., and dad is nervous about leaving her alone. So, I only had time to pack up the twins, make quick arrangements for the older 2 kids to get to school and back, and hit the road. I love being with my mom, but they don't have Internet at the house, and that is just a bummer! I was able to log on once at the local university, but didn't have enough time to catch up on the DDA. I tried to get Alan to post what was going on, but he felt funny about doing it, so he didn't. I'm sorry to have caused so much trouble. You'll all be happy to know that the Queen, and Tammi have already given me my talking to, so I've been properly disciplined. :teeth:

Now that I'm home, I'm trying to catch up. I'm still back on page 925, so it will be a while. Looks like we've gained some new members! Welcome to everyone! Welcome home Amy, Kevin, Alyssa and Matthew! I'm so glad that you had a great time! It's awfully good to see Denise posting again! It's feeling more and more like old times in here! Kate's new designs are amazing as usual, and I see a whole new summer wardrobe for my kids appearing.

My BIL had the gastric bypass surgery and things did not go well for him. Unfortunately, he neglected to tell his surgeon that he has some medical condition where he reacts badly to anesthesia. Consequently, he wouldn't wake up.....for 4 days....!!!! I guess it was so bad, they opened him up again to see if there was some problem with the procedure. The only person who knew about the condition is his ex, and she didn't even know he was having surgery. Once they got him awake, he developed pneumonia because he wasn't able to do his breathing exercises for those 4 days. So, his recovery is not going as well as he'd like. Poor guy! However, if you don't tell your doctor about things like this, you kind of deserve what you get! I'm just grateful that I didn't have any of those kind of complications.

Well, back to catching up! Talk to you later!

Glynis, we missed you and were so worried about you! I'm glad you're back safe and sound and posting on the DDA where you belong!

Now that Glynis is back and we can stop worrying about her, has anyone heard from Theresa (babytrees). I haven't seen her post since Friday but I don't remember her saying they were going anywhere. Did I just miss that one? I've sent her a pm and haven't heard back from her.

Sorry Ellen - We've never stayed at either - but I'm sure one of the other addicts will help you out.

Kate, Tammi and Kristine - before you all start yelling at me, today is Paul's day off and I dragged him down to the mall to go to Payless. SOOOOO, yes, there will be four crazy women driving Segways around Epcot with stupid matching shoes. As for the t-shirt - I will gladly pay somebody to do one for me; I don't do tie dye (but at least I have the shoes to match :teeth: ).

And one more thing:

Happy Birthday Alyssa!!!!

:rotfl2: Too funny...I so have the visual of us tooling around on the segway

I was wondering if we could all send prayers and PD to the families, friends and Units involved in the C-5 plane crash this morning. According to CNN no one is dead, and the crew is in the hospital, but the prayers could be used for all involved. The fear and stress must be very high.

http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/04/03/c5.crash/index.html

Also prayers and PD for all of the Midwest effected by the storms.

I prayed this morning for all effected by these storms. I do hope that no one in the DDA or DIS lost anything due to these storms.
Praying for all involved!!! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Yes...plainfield & joliet got hit tremendously. I have always had a tornado phobia myself...although not sure why...there hasn't been a direct hit in this area for over 60 years. My youngest always says..."Oh no, a tomato isn't coming, is it?" :rotfl2:
