Jen- Here's a  for you. Just take it one step at a time and remember we are here for you.

Deb-thank you so much for posting all the updates. It was nice talking to you and Chris yesterday though.

Grandpa passed very peacefully. My mom actuallyc alled my dad around 6:50 and told him notto rush down because grandpa was the same. I took a shower and came in around 6:45...Mom and i were just chatting next to the bed when werealized his breathing was a bit different. So we held his hands, told him how much we loved him, and talked about funny stories /memories. Right around 7am, he passed away. We sat withhim for a few minutes, then called the nurses is. They confirmed that he had passed and then we called my grandma, uncle, dad, and brother.

I am so glad that i got tobe there with him ,but i am having such a hard time today. I am trying to be strong for the family and when i talk to people on the phone ,but right now, i just cant help it . I just sorted through pictures for thep hoto collage and that was so hard. I know that he is better off right now-no suffering! I just cant believe my grandfather is gone.

My mom, grandma, and uncle are at the funeral home right now making arrangements..were thinking its eithergoing to be Monday/Tuesday or Tuesday/Wednesday. Work is letting me take off whatever time i need, so i am thankful for that.

T\he women we dealt with in hospice were absolutely wonderful. They hugged andh eld us when they came in and saw he had died. One nurse sat with me when i couldnt sleep last night. They were amazing women.

Thank you so much for being there for me guys

The exhibit opens next October. If you Google King Tut Dallas you can probably find where I signed up to get the e-mail for advance ticket purchases. It doesn't cost anything to sign up.
I think Eric and DH would get along swimmingly. Maybe we should leave them at home to play Wii while the rest of us go see Tut!:rotfl2:

Mother just phoned and said they are going out to lunch and then they will be here. All of a sudden I feel like there is an axe embedded in my skull. We were JUST in the mall 10 minutes ago! The shops in that mall are WAAAAYYY too exclusive for my sister to be shopping in. She says she needs a dress for "winter formal" which she may or may not actually attend. But I am sure she wants to get a dress here so she can go tell her classmates she went to DALLAS to buy her dress because the shops in Kansas just aren't good enough for her. She is quite an elitist for someone who is about 1 step away from being on welfare.

Mother believes that nobody should ever tell my sister "No" for any reason. Her father DIED, you know! My sister was the biggest manipulator when he was alive - she played both parents against each other until someone gave in to her whining. Now Mother is reinforcing the belief that my sister is entitled to anything she wants, regardless of whether it is practical and affordable. And I am the outcast.:sad2:

My mother has a life insurance policy on me from when I was little. My father is the beneficiary. He's dead. Been dead for 18 months. I have asked my mother MULTIPLE times to let us take over the policy and name DH as beneficiary, but she keeps dragging her feet. She made a comment the other day that as long as she retains ownership of the policy she can be sure it is being paid!  EXCUSE ME? DH and I pay our life insurance bills JUST FINE, thank you! And all of our other bills, too, come to think of it! So what was that comment? Is she planning to hire a hit man so she can collect on the policy? She isn't even the beneficiary, so if I drop dead right now I don't see how that would be useful to her! Sometimes her behavior is so bizarre I just can't even begin to wrap my brain around it. :sad2:

Thanks for the headsup on the exhibit. I preregistered. I think I will leave Eric home with Mo and Lucy. No need for him to ruin a perfectly good weekend. ;)

Sorry for all the drama with you mother.

Thank you.

You're welcome!

Now I need to get back to my house. I swear it never actually gets clean, crap just gets shuffled from one area to another.

My evening project

Colby was so excited to be putting up the village. The first box had the skating rink in it. He helped me carry things up from the basement and helped me empty the boxes. Then he talked about how he was going to teach Daddy the Christmas spirit and made him help too. It was too cute.

We also watched Grid Iron Gang tonight on DVD. It was actually a touching story and had me in tears during parts. Who would of thought that a movie starring the Rock would bring me to tears :confused3

Gorgeous! Is that your new furniture? It's gorgeous too.

Whatever you have in purple is cut off for me.

That is my tribute to June... but I think when your old cookies are gone, it will be there, Heidi. At least it is on Firefox and IE for me now. AOL.... not yet. But it usually takes forever for the cookies that it holds onto to go away...

Jen, I'm so sorry for your loss. :grouphug: We are here for you whenever you need us. Please keep us posted if there is anything we can do for you.

Jen, so sorry for you loss!:grouphug:

We're here for you if you need anything!

My wife lost her Grandfather on Thanksgiving, so we can definitely feel for you!

I wish I would stop feeling sick. I started feeling sick on Tuesday and keep feeling worse. I guess it doesn't help that I worked Midnight to 8am Thursday to Friday in Hershey. I am not supposed to work anymore till Monday which is a good thing. Although they wanted me to work Sunday and then changed their minds.

I was supposed to clean but don't feel like it. I ended up going to Michael's and AC Moore with my Mom to get some stuff for the holidays. I ended up getting the closure piece I needed for my necklace, I thought they were $1.99, well the were $12, they will be going back. I am not paying $12 for ten necklace closures. IMO they don't warrant a $12 cost but what do I know??:confused3 :confused3 I found other ones at Michaels which I have used and will be keeping.

I got about 14 skeins of yarn for 50 cents apiece so I will have to make some things with that. I also got a square grapevine wreath to decorate to hang up at work. I want to decorate it with feathers and beads and maybe some ornaments but did not see what I wanted to finish it plus I was feeling pretty crappy so I decided I would go later to find the stuff to finish it.

Jen I am sorry for you loss

:wizard: :grouphug:  to all of you

I took Leighanna to see Santa last night! Here is her pic!

Can you believe that she asked him for Butterscotch the pony again this year! You can't fault her for trying her darndest!

Also, downtown in the AAA window was this display! I thought of Chanon and all of you!
The Mickey dances and moves his hips back and forth!

I am loving all the cool Holiday signatures.

Everyone is very creative. I wish I was creative

Jen I am sorry to hear about the passing of your grandfather  You know we are here for you

Hi everyone,

I am way back on Wednesday night on the posts.
Hope you all enjoyed your Turkey day. Ours was o.k. but my mom did a job on me & as usual I wanted to just go home. Dana's mom just went on & on about the past & how terrible & boring her life is now & that she wishes she had her "life" back whatever that means. :confused3

She has no interest in the grandkids dances, plays, grades or anything.
She loves to start every sentence with "When I...blah blah blah":sad2: You can't bet in a word!!!!

Anyway Dana felt bad for me (& us!)& said we should just go to Disney next year for either T-day or Christmas, (yeah, ya think! )

We took the kids shopping today at the mall. I just want to be with my kiddies & Dana, then we are all happy.

Jen,

I am very sorry about your Grandpa....it was good you were there for him. I am sure he knew that.

Robyn the socket thingy sounds painful. Glad all is well with Molly!

Cute pictures Kristine & Tom!

Sorry Thanksgiving was not so good for you. I agree with Dana, next year just pack up the family & go to Disney! :thumbsup2
