Lindsay - I hope you have a wonderful, magical trip. Enjoy the time with your family. :wizard: that none of you catch whatever it is that Grandma has.

The tree and the mantel are decorated. Now we are going to start putting the candles in the windows.

Lindsay! Enjoy your trip! Kiss Mickey for me and tell him I'll be there on Friday....:santa: :smickey:

Hi all! Last night went well. I waited until right before dinner to give them out, got made fun of for making Thanksgiving Cards :), and then they were all thrilled. My mom shrieked "TWO?!" so loud that nobody else could finish reading their cards without a bit of confusion, but all in all it went well  My little sister was tearing up, which says a lot for her!

I hope you all are having a good day!

Sometime today I'm going to tell the kids we are going to WDW in 2 weeks. I just don't know how to do it. Since I didn't put a lot of planning into it there won't be much fanfare. Then tonight when their dad picks them up I need to remind him about it. We haven't spoken of it for months so I'm sure he's forgotten. I hope he doesn't give me any grief. If you wouldn't mind, I could use any extra pd that might be laying around.

Thanks, Tammi! :goodvibes Just learned that she has a bad case of bronchitis, but not pneumonia, so that's good. They're starting her on antibiotics today - hopefully my MIL, too, as she'll be with her until the day they leave for Orlando. And my MIL is notorious for getting sick.

Sounds great! That's the one thing that didn't get done before we left - I really wanted everything to be decorated so I just had the tree to do when I got back. Oh well, something to look forward to...

I will! :thumbsup2

You got it, Tammi. I hope all goes smoothly! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Happy Thanksgiving (a day late), and Happy Black Friday, DDA!

The last 48 hours have been an absolute whirlwind, but this time tomorrow, I will be on a plane, just 1 hour away from Orlando, if all goes according to plan!

Wednesday night was sheer H E L L getting ready to go. This was the most difficult packing I've ever had to do - and we ended up needing 5 suitcases to do it. :scared: Of course, 2 of them are carry-on size (and one really just has a rolling cooler for the cruise inside, plus some other miscellaneous toiletries), but 5 suitcases still scare me. We have a n/s flight tomorrow morning, but I still want to arrive at the airport with 2 hours to spare to give the Houston TSA plenty of time to process our bags. When we left from here 2 years ago after Thanksigiving for WDW, my bag did not make it on my original flight, due to their TSA dept. being understaffed. :sad2:

I was up until 3 a.m. Thursday morning packing (ended up having to do most of Jonathan's, too), and was back up around 6:20 a.m. to finish packing, load up, and head to Houston. We ended up not leaving our house until 10 a.m., but Thanksgiving dinner wasn't until 4:30, and I wasn't going to be rushed and forget to do something to prep our house for being away.

We flew to Houston (kept praying that all the cops on the road wouldn't pull us over), and had to head straight to Jonathan's parents' first to see his middle brother and familiy, as they were having their dinner with my SIL's family, and weren't going to be around.

This is the brother's family that is not making our trip - and after yesterday, I'm even more relieved. Those children are so ill-behaved, the parents do nothing to discipline them, and then wonder at all the problems they have. My BIL was mad at his parents that they didn't remove all their picture frames and knick-knacks on account of his 1-year old DD. Umm, how about you teach your child the meaning of the word "no". My BIL has changed so much since marrying my SIL, and not in a good way. I'm scared to think how this family will turn out in a few years. :scared:

They left, I went to my parent's house to unload/change, and then we all went back over for Thanksgiving dinner. This is the group that will all be together in WDW, and I think we will have a good time. My nieces are so sweet, and so excited - all they wanted to do was sit on my lap and talk about WDW. :cloud9: I think their heads are likely to explode once they get there :rotfl: - they are in the single digits today.

The only damper was that Jonathan's grandmother was there - and is very ill with some sort of horrible chest congestion, running a fever of almost 102, etc. My MIL didn't take her to the doctor on Wednesday, and of course the only thing open yesterday was the ER, so they were going to take her first thing this morning. I felt badly that she was so sick...but my MIL kept encouraging everyone to go in and visit with her. Umm...I don't think so. I haven't worked this hard and long for this trip to be KO'ed by my grandmother-in-law. I told Jonathan as much, and kept plying him with Airborne. I also made a game of washing hands with my nieces, so hopefully we'll all dodge the bullet. My MIL sometimes just has absolutely no sense. :sad2: I told her to go ahead and have the doctor prescribe for her whatever they were going to prescribe for her mother, and she should start taking it preventatively!

It was an exhausting day, and I was in bed by 10, which is way early for me. Was up this morning in time to print our boarding passes with SW at the 24-hour mark, and need to run out to the drug store for a couple of last minute items. Other than that, I'll just be relaxing, watching the UT football game, and counting down the hours. I can't believe it's almost that time! :yay: :yay: :yay:

I hope you can relax now and enjoy all of your hard work. I'd add some crystal light immunity to your airbourne routine. Can't be too careful with something as important as WDW :thumbsup2 :wizard:

Jennifer I am so happy for you  I teared up when I read your Mother's reaction. That is so wonderful. Those babies will not be spoiled :rolleyes1 well not anymore than any of our WDW loving kids.

Tammi I love your new signature. Someday maybe I'll find time to make one or to "borrow" one of the cleaver one's on here :rolleyes1 :wizard: :wizard: That you dxh2b isn't a prick about the situation. Oops did I say that out loud :rolleyes1

We got back from shopping around 10:30. We bought most of the things that we wanted and can certainly do without the rest. Overall the crowds were managable. I think that I really need to start wrapping soon. I plan to take a nap now then I'll work on doing some decorations while the house is still dust free :thumbsup2 TTYL

Lindsay - Have an amazing trip! I hope everyone stays healthy!!:wizard:

Tammi - Good luck with XH! Hopefully he won't be a butthead about the trip.:wizard:

Jennifer - I am glad your cards were a hit!:)

Dadboss just came by and brought me my paycheck.:goodvibes I meant to ask him about it yesterday but I completely forgot. Guess I need to run to the bank.

Jen - :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: Hope you get some good rest today, and I will keep praying for peace and comfort for you and your family. Did you get to see any of the Cowboys game yesterday? Hopefully that lifted your spirits some.

Great game yesterday! i mean, it was a boring game to watch since we won by so much , but i was happy with the result!

HAVE A GREAT TRIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cant wait to hear how they react!

Some extra :wizard: for y ou!

Thanks everyone.

We are progressing nicely on the house, but taking a lunch break now. Alyssa and I cleaned up some of her room and have a great big trash bag of stuff to throw away. She has a whole bin of stuffed animals that needs to be sorted. Anyone know of any place to donate them too? Then we took several large Little Tykes items (kitchen, basketball hoop, ride on cars) to the basement and cleared out the playroom. After lunch we will work on our Disney tree.

Lindsay, have a safe and fun trip. :wizard: that no one gets sick.

Jennifer, happy to hear that your family was excited. :)

My tree is up and decorated, but it still needs some more ornaments. So in Jan, I will be hitting the Christmas store in DD again. :goodvibes

I just came back from the mall. I bought a 29" Delsey suitcase at Dillard's for $55. It even MATCHES the 2 other blue Delsey suitcases we already have!:rotfl2:
I saw Marci there, too! She was headed home for a nap.:)

The problem with my lovely new suicase is that I don't know if we can fit all those big pieces inthe car. We were pushing it last summer, so we may end up leaving a couple of the smaller pieces at home. I guess we'll see!

The kids just left with their dad. I reminded him about the trip. I got the rolled eyes, but no grief. YAY! So now it seems really real. I don't have to worry anymore about him canceling my AKLV ressie, and the kids now know. 16 MORE DAYS!!!!

Sounds like you had a good morning!

We're back from Sam's. We spent over $1100 in 10 minutes.:scared1:

DH got his dSLR camera. It's a 10 mp Olympus. We think it dropped another $100 overnight. DH and I both thought it was $600 yesterday, and today it was $500.:confused3 Works for me. He is trying to get it out of the package now. I want him to practice with it so he is comfortable using it at WDW in 19 days!

So while we were waiting for DH to go grab a cart we stumbled across a big display of Wii bundles. The same thing I was looking at online yesterday. So we bought that, too. DS says he understands he will not be allowed to play with it until Christmas morning. We stopped by Toys R Us but their sale on Wii games is over. Please post if anyone sees them on sale between now and Christmas.:)
