Happy Thanksgiving (a day late), and Happy Black Friday, DDA!
The last 48 hours have been an absolute whirlwind, but this time tomorrow, I will be on a plane, just 1 hour away from Orlando, if all goes according to plan!
Wednesday night was sheer H E L L getting ready to go. This was the most difficult packing I've ever had to do - and we ended up needing 5 suitcases to do it.

Of course, 2 of them are carry-on size (and one really just has a rolling cooler for the cruise inside, plus some other miscellaneous toiletries), but 5 suitcases still scare me. We have a n/s flight tomorrow morning, but I still want to arrive at the airport with 2 hours to spare to give the Houston TSA plenty of time to process our bags. When we left from here 2 years ago after Thanksigiving for WDW, my bag did not make it on my original flight, due to their TSA dept. being understaffed.
I was up until 3 a.m. Thursday morning packing (ended up having to do most of Jonathan's, too), and was back up around 6:20 a.m. to finish packing, load up, and head to Houston. We ended up not leaving our house until 10 a.m., but Thanksgiving dinner wasn't until 4:30, and I wasn't going to be rushed and forget to do something to prep our house for being away.
We flew to Houston (kept praying that all the cops on the road wouldn't pull us over), and had to head straight to Jonathan's parents' first to see his middle brother and familiy, as they were having their dinner with my SIL's family, and weren't going to be around.
This is the brother's family that is not making our trip - and after yesterday, I'm even more relieved. Those children are so ill-behaved, the parents do nothing to discipline them, and then wonder at all the problems they have. My BIL was mad at his parents that they didn't remove all their picture frames and knick-knacks on account of his 1-year old DD. Umm, how about you teach your child the meaning of the word "no". My BIL has changed so much since marrying my SIL, and not in a good way. I'm scared to think how this family will turn out in a few years.
They left, I went to my parent's house to unload/change, and then we all went back over for Thanksgiving dinner. This is the group that will all be together in WDW, and I think we will have a good time. My nieces are so sweet, and so excited - all they wanted to do was sit on my lap and talk about WDW.

I think their heads are likely to explode once they get there

- they are in the single digits today.
The only damper was that Jonathan's grandmother was there - and is very ill with some sort of horrible chest congestion, running a fever of almost 102, etc. My MIL didn't take her to the doctor on Wednesday, and of course the only thing open yesterday was the ER, so they were going to take her first thing this morning. I felt badly that she was so sick...but my MIL kept encouraging everyone to go in and visit with her. Umm...I don't think so. I haven't worked this hard and long for this trip to be KO'ed by my grandmother-in-law. I told Jonathan as much, and kept plying him with Airborne. I also made a game of washing hands with my nieces, so hopefully we'll all dodge the bullet. My MIL sometimes just has absolutely no sense.

I told her to go ahead and have the doctor prescribe for her whatever they were going to prescribe for her mother, and she should start taking it preventatively!
It was an exhausting day, and I was in bed by 10, which is way early for me. Was up this morning in time to print our boarding passes with SW at the 24-hour mark, and need to run out to the drug store for a couple of last minute items. Other than that, I'll just be relaxing, watching the UT football game, and counting down the hours. I can't believe it's almost that time!
