Hey strangers...

Hope everyone is enjoying their thanksgiving. I know we are as we have many things to be thankfull for this year. Specifically the one sleaping on the living room floor right now.

However I'm not sure how thankfull I am for tomorrow... I turn 40 and that is a real Black Friday!

HI! Your kiddos are both absolutely beautiful... and I'm thrilled Aidan is finally home with you! :goodvibes Happy Birthday!

DH and I have been desperately trying to think of something to buy. We've been through all the Black Friday ads and we can't find ANYTHING.:guilty:

No kidding! For the first time in YEARS I'm not going out. I was so disappointed (call me crazy!) but I was trying so hard to find something worth my time!

Good Black Friday Morning DDA!

I am not going out to face the crowds today! There really wasn't anything in the ads that we had to have!

Woke up to the ground coated in white! It looks so Christmasy out!

Dinner at Banana's really bit the big one! Cold and dry turkey, cold and yucky green been casserole, flat deflated rolls, intstant potoates with canned gravy. Yuck! All this goodness for the measley some of $10.95 per person!

We went to Wal-mart afterwards, and picked up a turkey breast and some other things, and made our own Thanksgiving feast for supper! Now that was the real deal! And, I spent way less on those fixin's than the whole dinner at Banana's cost! Oh Well.... That's where the in-laws wanted to go, so we went along!

I need to finish up some sewing projects today for Christmas, and then Leighanna wants to see Santa downtown in his little house on the square. So I guess that are our plans for today!

Have a great day all! Safe travels to all those braving the crowds today!

Ugh, your Bananas Thanksgiving doesn't sound at all appetizing! I'm glad you were able to salvage the night! :)

Morning all--no black friday shopping for me! I justwoke up and still laying in bed. I was going to head to the hospital but mom is headed home--She thinks that maybe my grandpa wants ot pass away alone..she, my grandmother, and i have been at his side the entire time so well leave him "alone" for today..The nurses will call us at the sign that something changes..

Good morning, DDA!

We had a really nice time with my bosses! Dinner was yummy and we even got to bring home some leftovers. Princess ran around and played with DS - she had a blast!

DH was WIDE awake shortly after 1 AM but I told him he was NOT going out. Last year the day after Thanksgiving was the day he got hit by the guy who dropped his phone, so I did not want him out at that hour. He was thinking of going to do his paperwork at the office!:scared1: :sad2:

I think today might be the day he gets his camera. We looked at a BUNCH online yesterday so we'll see what he wants to do.

Tom - Sorry your Bananas dinner was icky!

Mac - What a beautiful family! Aidan and Mya are just precious!:goodvibes

Jen - Thanks for the Gray's reminder last night! What an episode! I hope you can relax today.

Jennifer - So how did your news go over?;)

Stephanie - Yay for bargains!

Tammi - I am glad you had a good day! YourBob's mom sounds like a very nice lady!

Hope all the Black Friday shoppers got want they wanted and that sometime today you can get a nap in.

Hi Sue

Thanks for taking the time to stop by with some info.

Adaptivemall.com is a great place to look at what is available and see what your options are.
The Maclaren Special Needs strollers have been made for at least 25 years that I know of and they are a good choice for someone who doesn't have many positioning needs (they are meant for people with mild to moderate disabilities).
The Convaid Cruisers have more positioning options and would be suited for someone with more severe disabilties than the Mac Major strollers are. They are more expensive, so you may need more documentation/evidence of need for that rather than a less expensive one.
Adaptivemall has a lot of other special needs strollers and travel chairs besides just those 2, so it's a good place to look.

Tom, sorry that dinner at bananas was no good, but glad to hear you got the real thing for dinner.

What a great Black Friday shopping adventure!!!:woohoo: :woohoo:

Some highlights.... 3 pair of Reeboks and 6 pair of socks for $46.00!

Comforters for $25.00!:dance3: :dance3:

We didn't stand waiting for any store to open today. We didn't need any major items that were going to be gone in seconds.:goodvibes

The line for Circuit City was insane!!!!!!! Wrapped around the building:eek:

We didn't need a thing there...:cool2:

We're headed for bed. I'm exhausted.....:goodvibes
Sounds like a productive night. Congrats on getting the great deals.

That sort of makes sense. He could be hanging on for you all.

I got a call from my MIL last night. She was asking if my mom was coming tomorrow. She said "We received the teddy bear today". I was like "What?" Then I remembered. My mom's church sends Teddy Bears to church members, their family & friends in the hospital or suffering a lasting illness at home. The members collect Teddy Bears, they get a ribbon around the neck and then they get loved up in church during services. They have a note attached to them and then they are sent to the person in the hospital. My mother had one sent to my FIL & MIL. My MIL was very touched. She said it made her whole day.

Did I tell you how much I love my mother? She is an awesome woman. She does so much for others. She has sent a Christmas card to my MIL & FIL every year since Chuck & I married. Something about them being a part of the family now.

That's how my grandparents all were. It's part of what makes understanding Phil's family so much harder some times. We have had many Christmases in OK with at least one parent-in-law from another side joinging in. At my grandma's funeral my mom and her sisters all had their MIL/FIL there as well. We grew up thinking that was the norm in families.

We're back from Sam's. We spent over $1100 in 10 minutes.:scared1:

DH got his dSLR camera. It's a 10 mp Olympus. We think it dropped another $100 overnight. DH and I both thought it was $600 yesterday, and today it was $500.:confused3 Works for me. He is trying to get it out of the package now. I want him to practice with it so he is comfortable using it at WDW in 19 days!

So while we were waiting for DH to go grab a cart we stumbled across a big display of Wii bundles. The same thing I was looking at online yesterday. So we bought that, too. DS says he understands he will not be allowed to play with it until Christmas morning. We stopped by Toys R Us but their sale on Wii games is over. Please post if anyone sees them on sale between now and Christmas.:)

Happy Thanksgiving (a day late), and Happy Black Friday, DDA!

The last 48 hours have been an absolute whirlwind, but this time tomorrow, I will be on a plane, just 1 hour away from Orlando, if all goes according to plan!

Wednesday night was sheer H E L L getting ready to go. This was the most difficult packing I've ever had to do - and we ended up needing 5 suitcases to do it. :scared: Of course, 2 of them are carry-on size (and one really just has a rolling cooler for the cruise inside, plus some other miscellaneous toiletries), but 5 suitcases still scare me. We have a n/s flight tomorrow morning, but I still want to arrive at the airport with 2 hours to spare to give the Houston TSA plenty of time to process our bags. When we left from here 2 years ago after Thanksigiving for WDW, my bag did not make it on my original flight, due to their TSA dept. being understaffed. :sad2:

I was up until 3 a.m. Thursday morning packing (ended up having to do most of Jonathan's, too), and was back up around 6:20 a.m. to finish packing, load up, and head to Houston. We ended up not leaving our house until 10 a.m., but Thanksgiving dinner wasn't until 4:30, and I wasn't going to be rushed and forget to do something to prep our house for being away.

We flew to Houston (kept praying that all the cops on the road wouldn't pull us over), and had to head straight to Jonathan's parents' first to see his middle brother and familiy, as they were having their dinner with my SIL's family, and weren't going to be around.

This is the brother's family that is not making our trip - and after yesterday, I'm even more relieved. Those children are so ill-behaved, the parents do nothing to discipline them, and then wonder at all the problems they have. My BIL was mad at his parents that they didn't remove all their picture frames and knick-knacks on account of his 1-year old DD. Umm, how about you teach your child the meaning of the word "no". My BIL has changed so much since marrying my SIL, and not in a good way. I'm scared to think how this family will turn out in a few years. :scared:

They left, I went to my parent's house to unload/change, and then we all went back over for Thanksgiving dinner. This is the group that will all be together in WDW, and I think we will have a good time. My nieces are so sweet, and so excited - all they wanted to do was sit on my lap and talk about WDW. :cloud9: I think their heads are likely to explode once they get there :rotfl: - they are in the single digits today.

The only damper was that Jonathan's grandmother was there - and is very ill with some sort of horrible chest congestion, running a fever of almost 102, etc. My MIL didn't take her to the doctor on Wednesday, and of course the only thing open yesterday was the ER, so they were going to take her first thing this morning. I felt badly that she was so sick...but my MIL kept encouraging everyone to go in and visit with her. Umm...I don't think so. I haven't worked this hard and long for this trip to be KO'ed by my grandmother-in-law. I told Jonathan as much, and kept plying him with Airborne. I also made a game of washing hands with my nieces, so hopefully we'll all dodge the bullet. My MIL sometimes just has absolutely no sense. :sad2: I told her to go ahead and have the doctor prescribe for her whatever they were going to prescribe for her mother, and she should start taking it preventatively!

It was an exhausting day, and I was in bed by 10, which is way early for me. Was up this morning in time to print our boarding passes with SW at the 24-hour mark, and need to run out to the drug store for a couple of last minute items. Other than that, I'll just be relaxing, watching the UT football game, and counting down the hours. I can't believe it's almost that time! :yay: :yay: :yay:

Congrats to all on the good Black Friday deals!

I'm glad to hear so many enjoyed their Thanksgiving days, or made the very best of the hand that was dealt them. ;) :grouphug: :grouphug: to those who were missing loved ones that had gone before.

Denise - so glad to see you posting, and I hope that you and your family had a wonderful day together. Still saying prayers for Rees!

Mac - it was good seeing you, too. I'm so glad to hear Aidan is doing well, and that Mya is such a good big sister. :goodvibes Happy birthday today!

Jen - :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: Hope you get some good rest today, and I will keep praying for peace and comfort for you and your family. Did you get to see any of the Cowboys game yesterday? Hopefully that lifted your spirits some.

Jennifer - your little card made me tear up. :goodvibes How did the family react?

Loads of :wizard: :yay: :grouphug:  all around. Thank you all for another wonderful year of friendship. I hope the rest of your year and holiday season is filled with special blessings, befitting the women (and men) that you are. :goodvibes
