I think I have to have this Monopoly game.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1640872

We got the Disney Trivial Pursuit game a couple of years ago. It was fun playing it with the family. On previous trips, I took just the pack of cards so we could quiz each other on the plane.
I have a Disney monopoly I wonder how different this one is. I think Joe & Lizzy would really like the TOT Clue. And someone mentioned on that thread that there is a Splash Mountain Sorry.

About 1/2 hour before Target I started in on one of my head attacks...I was miserable...I wish I could be done with these.
:wizard: Hope it goes away fast!

I forgot to tell you all that Cassidy was so excited yesterday she had to call me at work...why you ask?? Because we will be hosting a Takiyama, Japan student the week after Thanksgiving.

Back at the beginning of the year we were told the kids from Takiyima would be coming to perform with LHS in the Downtown Denver Parade of Lights. Cassidy begged to host a student...I said as long as we were in our own place..sure.

She is so excited!! and it sounds like we will probably the kid for 4 hours a day to entertain/corrupt:rotfl: .

I just have to figure out what to feed a Japanese student. :confused3
Cool!

So much for sleeping in, I was up at 6am  So I have been messing around with our Dec. itinerary :thumbsup2 I swear I am going to have a binder full of papers to take, so I can be able to keep track of all the activities, ADR's, best parks, hours, ect. :rotfl: Does the Osborne lights have a set schedule for every evening? What about the carolers at AK & the story tellers at Epcot? I also just seen a post about something at MK called "Twas The Night Before Christmas". Anyone know what this is?

I am sure I will have a lot more questions as the time gets closer!
Janet-I thought the "Twas the Night Before Christmas" was only at the party UNTIL the party stops and then it was at the MK during the day-on a schedule.

The Epcot Storytellers are on a schedule. My biggest regret from last December's trip is only seeing one story teller. We say the Monkey King in China. Don't forget to see Santa & Mrs Claus in America-they are the real thing!!!!!
Here's a few photos of the Twas the Night-very cute-worth seeing and the Monkey King:

TRU is having the B2G1 on Wii games is anyone needs some. I hate to pass it up the sale but Santa's bringing 8 games so I think we have enough!
So they aren't having a deal on DS games. That's OK as they don't have the ones I'm thinking of getting Emma. I want to get her Smart Boy's Gameroom-she'll never go for the 'girl' version, maybe Interative Storybook. It is made by the same company as the smart boy game so I'm worried there may be duplicated stuff. Maybe the Crayola game for her too. I'm trying to find a few that don't require too much reading.

I can't believe how many of you are decorated for Christmas already. When I was growing up, we used to put the tree up for my parents' anniversary on December 1st, and everyone thought we did it so early.

We go get our tree the weekend after Thanksgiving weekend, because we are never home for Thanksgiving. That is so late compared to all of you, but I need the tree to last until Epiphany, and I can't quite go artificial yet. (I think that may be coming as I get older...the kids would never have it, though.)

I also don't know how mothers who work full-time get anything done. I am seriously thinking of dropping the 4's class next year so that I can go back to having Mondays and Fridays off. I am never home for more than an hour or so that I don't also have kids here. Plus running errands is near impossible. Class hours are 9:15-11:45, but I seem to not get out of there before 1:00 pm or 2:00 most days. From the time the kids get home around 3:30, we have to be out most days. Then there is all the prep work at night to get through. I know that is nothing compared to what most of you do, but I feel like I can't get myself together ever. I think I need someone to teach me to be more productive. Kudos to all of you!!!
Beth-I am much more on your track. I'll be lucky if I can get DH to get tree up Thanksgiving weekend. It is too heavy for me to move. I did go with a prelit fake tree a few years ago. We used to do cut your own and it was not too much fun walking around in the cold and not being able to make a decision on which tree to pick. It is nice to not have to worry about watering the fake tree.

That is the link that shows the castle lights until 1/6/08. We have a 4PM ADR at Sci Fi. I think if we hit Osborne Lights just as they start that would give us enough time to get to MK to see the castle. The MK has EMH that night-open til 11pm.

We are looking at getting 8" by tomorrow morning.
:scared1:

I told the boys they could choose 1 nice gift for Christmas beings going to Disney is part/most of their Christmas gift. They both wanted an XBox 360 Halo Edition. So I bite the bullet & bought the XBox Halo console, Halo 3 game & an extra controller. Besides some stocking stuffer they will get at Disney, this is it.

My question now is do I let them open this before we leave or wait till we return?
I was all set to say wait til you get home but then I read everyone elses responses and now I can see the advantage to giving it to them before the trip. Lots of help from me too huh?:rotfl:

DS and DH just came in from playing outside. I was brushing my teeth. DS asked me what I was doing and I told him I don't like eggnog. Turns out he doesn't like it, either!:rotfl2: He wanted to taste it, so DH gave him some. I guess DH likes it.:confused3 Blech!
One of my nieghbors has a cat that LOVES eggnog.

We're HOME~!!!
:cool1:
:dance3:  :woohoo: :cheer2: :wave2: :dancer: party: :jumping1: :worship: :mickeyjum :tigger: :donald: :goofy:
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Continued prayers for Reese and the entire family!

I got in on the Victoria's Secret Deal too. I ordered a turtleneck sweater for myself. I've never bought from Victorias Secret, but I wear turtleneck sweaters all winter so it will be wonderful. The lip products will probably be given to my MIL for Christmas. The woman didn't even call to wish Chris a Happy Birthday today  I'll wait until I get the scarf then decide if I should keep it or give it to someone for Christmas. I seldom wear scarves so we shall see.

Jen,

Sending you 's and praying that your grandfather is able to go as peacefully as he can. You are handling this in a way that would make him very proud of you. It's not an easy thing to do. :wizard:

So I was too excited to sleep but that was a good thing as the alarm didn't go off so I was up on my own at 4:30. Don't know if DH didn't set it for me or didn't set it for 4:30. I showered and got Lizzy up at 5:00. We were out of the house a few minutes early-before 5:30. I had to call Dorinda as we got close so they could move their cars so I could my car all the way into their driveway-out of the way. Their 17 year old son drove us to the boat-just a few blocks from their house. We were there a bit early for the 6:15 boat. We had to be careful on the ice on the ramp to the boat.

The shuttle bus was waiting for us at the airport. We quickly checked our bags and headed through security. Ralph made it through security without incedent-can't always say that about Ralph. We had breakfast at the gate. Lizzy ate an entire bagel with cream cheese. She's usually too excited/nervous to eat so I was really happy that she was actually eating something. We saw a local family at our gate. They have a DD Lizzy's age, DS Joe's age and DD Emma's age. I knew they were going but didn't know they were going the same day/flight as us-they were even the same row. They were supposed to stay at AKL (w/dining) but her sister decided to join them so they switch to the Buena Vista Palace because there weren't any rooms at AKL for sister.:scared1: I haven't seen them to see how there trip went. It was the kids' first visit.

When I got on the plane I could see there was someone in my seat in row 4. I told the flight attendant and they moved the person. It was a woman with her elderly Mom. They should have been both aisle but the daughter was in my middle seat. THey quickly moved so Lizzy & I could seat next to each other.

Our flight was perfect. We arrived on time at 12:30. There was just a short line at ME check in but there were HUGE crowds waiting to board busses. I've NEVER seen it like that before. There was a long line of folks waiting to get in the correct resort line and the resort lines were overflowing. Luckily a CM asked us where we were headed before we got in the long line and he showed us where to duck between the other lines to find the Pop line. We ended up not waiting too long and Pop was the first stop. There was no line a check in and check in was the quickest I've ever experienced at Disney. Our room was ready and we were VERY happy with the location on the top floor, lake side of the Play-doh building in the 60's. We dropped off our bags and headed for the Epcot bus.

I noticed it was exactly 2:00pm on the clock in the bus. Not bad for a 12:30 flight arrival. At Epcot we heading for World Showcase to try a few Food & Wine Fest items. Dorinda & Ralph had the lamb in New Zealand and said it was great. Lizzy was anxious to get her pearl in Japan. She got a beautiful 7mm white pearl and picked a nice flower setting. I went for the ribs in USA, got Lizzy strawberry shortcake. I also got the pasta in Italy and Pizza for Lizzy but she didn't like it. I ended up getting her a hot dog. We left Dorinda & Ralph in Epcot (they did the beer seminar) and Lizzy & I went to MK to see Spectro. On the way out we found our Leave a Legacy tile.

In this first photo-if you look close you'll see the Christmas tree was up. Tree was up in USA too. They were still working on the archway that first day but even though they seemed to have finishe it later in the week we never did see it lit up.

Jen-

everybody has done a bang up job telling you what I've wanted to say so I am quoting Miss Robyn and adding my

We took the monorail over to the TTC. The sun was starting to set as we arrived at TTC. I had forgotten to mention that the weather was PERFECT! Bright blue skys, temps in the low 70's.

Lizzy wanted to take the ferry to MK. She had never taken it before. She wanted a photo with the tinsle tree first. It was an absolutely beautiful night and it was magical watching the MK come into view.

We got our photo taken in front of the castle. I had the photopass use my camera almost every time I used them. This picture is SO much better than the photopass photo. I will continue to ask them to use my camera.

DSC05091.jpg

We rode just a few rides-TTA, Pooh, teacups, small world, and saw Philjarmagic-we walk in just as they were opening the doors. We found a spot to watch Spectro in Liberty Square. Lizzy hadn't seen this since Jan 2004 and she didn't remember it so she really enjoyed it. I had contemplated putting my denim shirt on but was afraid I'd get too hot. It was a beautiful night. Lizzy told me she was too tired to stay for fireworks. I told her that was fine as we had 8am ADR at CP in the morning and had been up since 5am. We left the park with huge masses. Notice no garland in the Main St photo.

It was a wonderful first day. It was hard to believe that we were really there.

I am sitting here waiting for Eric to get back from the doctor's with Lucy. She had another screaming fit tonight and this time she kept swatting at her right ear. Every time I'd get her to stop screaming and I'd lay her down she'd start right back up again. No fever but neither Emma or Molly ever had fevers when they got them so who knows.

Emma arrived safely in New York this afternoon. Her cousin Alex was over the moon when he saw her. I am so happy Emma got to see him, they get along so well for not spending a tremendous amount of time together. She hasn't seen him since July of 2006.

So we drove through snow and rain today to get to NYC. In NYC it only spritzed a bit, but we came home to white. I don't think it is supposed to be too bad here and luckily I get to go to the close office so that is a plus. I don't work at the closest office to where I live on a normal basis.

We had a great day the Behind the Scenes tour was neat, but I wish I could actually have went where all the hydraulics and things are for the show actually behind the stage and on the stage. We could not because there was a show going on. It was really neat to watch the show from up in the booth, you could see the formations and things very well and all of the theatre.

Glad to hear Rees is home.

Jen sending good thoughts to you and your family.

Janet I would maybe wrap pictures up of what they are getting and either give the wrapped pictures to them ahead of time for them to open or give it to them to open on Christmas morning at WDW and then have the actual stuff wrapped and waiting for them when them get home.

You are making me thirsty for eggnog. I was gonna buy some and then talked myself out of it. But now I will probably have to either buy or make some.

I should head to bed.

Hope you have a great week.

Bernadette - Love the trip report so far! I don't want to wait 24 more days! I want to go to WDW now!! (But not really. I want to be done with this cold first.)

Robyn - Hugs to Lucy! I hope she feels better soon!:wizard:

Becky - You can have some of my eggnog!:)

Bernadette - I didn't offer any to the cats. Aurora vomits if she has even one swallow of milk so I imagine eggnog would not be the thing for her. Arabella would probably like it. She was up on the stove last night eating mashed potatoes. Naughty cat.:sad2:

Pearl likes popcorn...not microwave...the stuff we make on the stove top.

I am a little scared about putting the tree up next weekend I don't know what she'll do with it:confused3 She's the first cat we haven't had since they were kittens.

Ditto on Bernadette's trip report!

How crazy would I be to change our dates to Jan 2 to the 8th? I'm sure we would have a hard time getting ADR's at this point but I'd eat counter service, it's not a huge deal to me. It is however a lot cheaper as it looks like the free ticket upgrade is available. My thinking is that we are going to Myrtle Beach for New Year's so it would be stupid to drive back down to Florida in 2 weeks time. Emma would miss more school by going earlier but I don't think she'd have a huge problem. Eric, of course thinks I'm nuts! I am but I don't see what that has to do with this!!!

Eric just called and she does have an ear infection. He is getting her RX and headed home.

I am uploading photos for day 2 but I really need to get to bed! Need to finish the last load of laundry first.

Gail's ex Father in law makes the best eggnog I have ever tasted. I am sure that the alcohol in it makes me like it a lot more. You honestly can't tell from the taste that there is even alcohol in it. It is so smooth. I couldn't have any last year so I am really looking forward to it in a few weeks.

Pearl likes popcorn...not microwave...the stuff we make on the stove top.

Good luck with that. Dogs don't care one bit about a Christmas tree. :goodvibes

I am uploading photos for day 2 but I really need to get to bed! Need to finish the last load of laundry first.

I got some too that I could be working on. Hanging out here is much more fun though!

waiting for a load to come out of the dryer too...:rotfl:

Poor Lucy:hug: Between the 2 girls they had 1 ear infection but I have babysat lots that have had them...it's the worst.

Loving the trip report.

Thanks!

I think the 1/2 ti 1/8 dates sound great! I'd love to meet you guys! Joe & I will be there 1/6 to 1/11. I didn't know you were driving. It does make sense to keep driving south from Myrtle Beach. You could always try to make ADR's without a reservation to see what is available.

I got some too that I could be working on. Hanging out here is much more fun though!
Well....I really need to get mine right now as I've already heated it back up once.

Forgot to say....:wizard: hope the meds kick in quick for Lucy! I used to get ear infections all the time as a kid. I've been so lucky with my kids-especially since Joe & Lizzy are alergic to penicillin.
