Jen I know this is hard for you & I wish I could be there to help you through this. Talk to your grandfather as much as you can, he can hear you & knows you are there. You are in my thoughts

Thanks janet--i wish i was closer to everyone here too...its been so helpful having you guys to talk to

Wow, Heidi. It looks like winter has arrived. It got up to 59 here, and is supposed to be 70 on Wednesday.

Ooh, that would have been nice as we froze our butts off at the Bengals game! At least it was about 43 here, better than it could have been!

I told the boys they could choose 1 nice gift for Christmas beings going to Disney is part/most of their Christmas gift. They both wanted an XBox 360 Halo Edition. So I bite the bullet & bought the XBox Halo console, Halo 3 game & an extra controller. Besides some stocking stuffer they will get at Disney, this is it.

My question now is do I let them open this before we leave or wait till we return?

That's a tough one. My initial reaction was before you leave but then I thought about it and they'd have something to look forward to opening when they got home (take away the Disney blues). But then again, if they open it before you leave, they know what they are coming home to. So ... I'm no help.

Thanks Vicki :rotfl:

Hi guys--i ended up going to the hospital around 930 this morning and i just got home. he finally got a room in the hospice wing around 2 in the morning. They are keeping him knocked out because when he wakes up he is violent and in pain...He is not a violent man, but he is when he is awake now. He woke up briefly and didnt know who any of us were--just really out of it. I spent most of the day in the family waiting room with another family that was in there--it is a nice set up there, with food, juice, coffee, water, fridge, books, games, movies, dvd, flat screen tv...at least you have somewhere to go.
So we are home for the night and then ill head down tomororw after work unless things change. my brother is hoping he gets to see him before the inevitable happens--joe wont be home from texas til tomorrow night ..other than that, we dont think its going to be long now..thanks for the thoughts
Thanks for the update, Jen. It sounds like the end is nearing. But the tones of your posts have changed. Almost like you are finally accepting it. I know it is going to be very hard for you and your family, especially so close to the holidays. I'm praying for strength and peace for you.

Ack!:scared: I do NOT like eggnog. I bought some yesterday because DH had mentioned it. I bought the big container, not the small one. I just tasted it and I don't like it. At all.

I looked up a few recipes for cookies, cake, and pancakes so hopefully I can use it up without drinking anymore straight.
I love eggnog, especially with a little of the Captain in it. I just bought some today at the grocery.

I'd say wait until you get home. Then maybe it will make leaving WDW a little less painful. :sad1:

i think thats what it is Tammi. After seeing this side of him today--in pain and violent...i just think he is suffering entirely too much. im hurting and sad but know it would be better if he isnt suffering

I hate this stuff near the holidays..in 1998 my aunt died from cancer on december 18 and we had the viewing and funeral the 21 and 22. Grandma is starting to realize this isnt going ot end well. overheard them saying they dont expect him to make it to thanaksgiving..so now we wait and see

Thanks Vicki :rotfl:

Ok, I asked Chuck to see if I could be helpful. Here's his insight: If you want the kids to be distracted before you leave so they are out of your hair while you are getting ready to go, give it to them before. However, if you need them to be doing stuff, wait until you get back. Is that more helpful? :lmao:

I'm so sorry Jen but I'm proud of the way you are handling it. It isn't easy for those left behind but we need to remember the one that it is truly affecting. :grouphug:

 It is tough this time of year, but then there is never a good time. My one grandfather died just before Thanksgiving, and his birthday is at the end of November. Both my grandmothers died in December (a couple of years apart), and both of their birthdays are in December. My father had his heart attack and open heart surgery in December, also. I still go into the holiday season almost waiting for something to happen.

For thoes DDA in Texas. Do you have room for 2 more? :sad2:

Sure we do! It was 80 today, and will stay that way until Wednesday, then they expect a high of 70, and by black Friday our highs might only be in the upper 40s low 50s, with lows in the high 30s -- awfully cold for shopping early in the morning!

We're HOME~!!!
:cool1:

Our October trip was our present to each other. The TV was a nessecity as our old one wasn't working properly. He was just lucky that I found a good sale or it wouldn't have been so large :goodvibes

Patriots vs. Buffalo.

I just put Chris and Colby down for a nap :lmao:

Go BILLS!!!

Sorry, I had to do that. ;)
