Heather you can still do a ladder. I was on staging siding the outside of my brother's house when I was 33 weeks pregnant with Hunter. No problem, just be careful ;)

I have bags of trash in my living room. I have been purging everything. Stuff really gathers in entertainment centers over the years :rolleyes1 I will have everything reduced to a minimal amount then I'll get the 2 new cabinets and I'll have plenty of room to buy more :rotfl:

I played co-ed softball in a league until I was 7-1/2 months pregnant with Katrina. I was the 1st basemen.

Warning about a movie that is coming out. If anyone is an atheist, this is not a criticism of that. My concern is that they are trying to market this to children under false pretenses.

Get the word out!!!!

THE GOLDEN COMPASS, a new movie targeted at children, will be released December 7, 2007. This movie is based on a the first book of a trilogy by atheist Philip Pullman. In the final book a boy and girl kill God so they can do as they please. Pullman left little doubt about his intentions when he said in a 2003 interview that 'My books are about killing God.'

The movie is a watered down version of the first book and is designed to be very attractive in the hope unsuspecting parents will take their children to see the movie and that the children will want the books for Christmas.

The movie has a well known cast, including Nicole Kidman, Kevin Bacon, and Sam Elliott. It will probably be advertised extensively, so it is crucial that we get the word out to warn parents to avoid this movie.

You can research this for yourself. Start with this article on Snopes.com, then go to Google.

Now I am thoroughly intrigued! I just went to the author's website and I found it fascinating! This man might be dark and twisty!

I want to read the books. DS has the whole set of Narnia books that he has never read - I think he read almost all of ONE of them. Maybe I will buy these to be MY books, and if I like them I will share them with DS. The excerpt I read was heavily British so he might need some help translating.

We will probably see the movie. Hopefully I can get though the book first so I can compare.

By now you are probably booked for your December trip. I am so excited for you :cool1: Chris and I looked a the new Tundra pick up trucks yesterday. We are considering buying a new truck before our trip next summer. I want to wait until after the holidays and after we see how my extra work will effect our taxes this year. We also need to refinance our house before we buy anything new.

Unfortunately no Dec. trip yet. They have to enter the contract and Scott told me he would call me back either last this afternoon or first thing in the morning. Since he didn't call this afternoon, that means first thing in the morning. The airline tickets are $218 a piece for Dec. 14-18. I'm hoping there will be something available for us then. We'll see. However, the paperwork has started!

DVC is our last large purchase for some time. Good luck with the truck.

I'm going to post a little rant here. It will make sense to some of you, and maybe not to others, but here goes. While at WDW in October the group of us combined efforts to mail 2 packages. Chanon and I bought prepaid USPS boxes at home with the proper postage. I called WDW ahead of time to find out how to mail the boxes. I was told to just drop them off at either the GF or CR Business Centers. Sounds easy right. Well it didn't work out so well, at least not yet. Chris and I took both of the boxes to the Contemporary Business Center on Oct. 21. The woman at the desk there took said boxes and commented that they don't handle USPS packages, but she would deliver them to the main desk. Fine. So off to AK we went. Fast Forward a few weeks. The recipients have not received the boxes. Both boxes had the recipients name as recipient and sender that way if there was a problem the box would be returned to sender and get there anyway, right?:confused3 I would think that people mail things home to themselves from WDW :confused3 So last week I started making phone calls. First the Contemporary Front Desk. They said it would go to lost and found, but Phyllis is out, call back next week. So today the calls began again. I tried the Main Lost and Found and they thought I was nuts. She told me to call the WDW mail center. Because prepaid boxes do not have tracking numbers they would have no record, but call the CR Business Center and make sure it actually left there. The business Center barely listens, doesn't look, but connects me with the Front Desk. They still have no idea and tries to connect me with Contemporary Lost and Found which is where Phyllis is located. Of course that is voicemail. So after many phone calls I still have no answers. Hopefully Phyllis will at least return my call. The Mail Center said that I should fill out missing package reports with the USPS so I guess I'll go that route tomorrow. How can 2 packages to different addresses just disappear? Ridiculous. So that is my rant. Morale of the story, bring things home or ship from the individual shops, not in prepaid USPS boxes.

:scared1: That is terrible. I was wondering why we hadn't heard anything from the recipients. And after you & Chris went out of your way to get the packages mailed on your last day. I sure hope they find it.

Wanted to say thanks for all the postcards ive gotten--i think i took 3 total in so far! the kids are loving it..thank you!

Wow! That doesn't sound good AT ALL. I hope they get it all worked out! I guess I just don't see how there could be a discrepancy when she has ALL of that paperwork! She says she has the printout from the WDW site saying $0 balance due, so how can CRO argue that it's not paid?:confused3 I would absolutely show up at WDW, and I would keep going higher up the food chain until somebody honored my ressies. No way would I sit home to fight with them.

This is always my biggest fear about making ressies. I hard copy EVERYTHING as I'm doing it and all of it goes in one folder and as any paperwork comes in from that company it goes right in the folder with it .. I had this happen when i flew out to OK years ago. it was not fun and i didn't know about it till I arrived, but I had my handy dandy folder so it got taken care of quick. I really hope for her sake that the OTHER supervisor in the OTHER office can get it straight for her.

ok for now i'm gonna go chit chat with Butch, He called me oday to let me know that as of Nov. 30th, he'll no longer be an Ethan Allen Employee..The job that he interviewed for 2 weeks ago got back to him and offered him a little more money then he even asked for .. there's more room to move up the ladder and it's not salery so he'll get REAL over time pay .. i'm thinking we're on the right path for a great future right now. so we're gonna go chat and i'll catch up with everything else tomorrow morning .. Have a great night DDA :wizard: :wizard: :grouphug: :grouphug: for anyone in need tonight

what is a hello dolly pie.

I am attempting to make an apple pie for thanksgiving. we will go to my moms and my DFIL will be coming up as well. Olivia is excited to see her Opa

Very yummy! Hello dolly pie is made up of a graham cracker crust, sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, coconut and vanilla chips. Very rich and yummy! My apple pies never turn out very well. I keep trying, though.

Thank you for all of the birthday wishes! I had a great day until about noon, when I had a horrendous day at work that had me home early and sobbing. I'm off to do a little more wallowing, and then try and pull myself together to at least have a nice dinner with my husband. Everything else will pass...

Thanks again, for trying to make this day special!

Sorry for the bad day! That is rotten on your birthday! I hope that Kyle has something nice planned to spoil you.

How are you feeling these days?

I am sure you do...you were my comeback to them:

One of my best friend's is one of the most educated women I know...just because you have heard one thing about one SECT of Mormonism don't make a blanket statement. There are many crazy sects of every religion. (this was just a bit of what I said...it wasn't even a book that had anything to do with religion or education)

When I left there were 3 ladies holding hands over their mouths so that they didn't have to hear my comebacks I had ready:rotfl2: Don't ever mess with me when I have an opinion on something:lmao:

My volunteer this morning said it went downhill after I left. :sad2:

Well, I'm glad I could help! I am just dying to meet you in person! You sound just like me!!! Does anyone else feel like the people here in the DDA are just family members you haven't met yet?

I played co-ed softball in a league until I was 7-1/2 months pregnant with Katrina. I was the 1st basemen.
what is with you and Deb, don't you two know we're supossed to be oh so fragile flowers when we're "in that way" as my grandfather still calls it ) You two aren't gonna let me get out of anything are you ? lol

Heather - Congrats to Butch!!:thumbsup2

Thank You Elizabeth. He's not giving up too much more info, so i came back to get caught up lol

Deb, I'm so sorry you're having such a time with the packages. I hope that some in Disney can find them and get them sent out soon.

Vicki, Congrats on getting the papers started. I hope when Scot Calls back in the morning you can get something booked when you want it for all my crossables are crossed for ya's.

Theresa, I'm sorry about book club last night and work today. I hope tomorrow's a better day for you .. It has to be, it's Friday .. right ?

Denise, I hope Rees' is doing better tonight and the transistion to the feeds goes smoothly and and there's no problems with getting foods and the rate figured out quick to get his strength up and healing moving along.

I know there was more that i read but it's all jumbbled in my head right now.

I've read all these things about this movie, and I honestly don't know what to believe. I've read the books and really liked the first two, the third, not so much. I've decided that Alan and I will see the movie and then decide whether or not to let the kids see it.

No, I like you all more than my husbands family!:lmao:

I am going to order the books from Amazon. The second excerpt I found was pretty easy to read, so I think I will enjoy reading them.

It is a good idea for you guys to see the movie first. If you find it inappropriate then that's fine. If you decide to bring the kids to see it then you will be prepared for questions they might ask afterwards.

I guess my discussion with DS will start off with "Do you think that could really happen?" I think there will be far too many fantasy elements in it for him to pick out the veiled references to other things. I don't think he sees things symbolically.

Here are some pictures of last weekend. The strike is still on.

I figured I could get some actual info from some of you on here. Did the children kill off "god" in the end of the third book. I'm not one to take others word for it either but wanted to make sure that the parents know to check it out first.
