Hmm... I didn't know the answer for sure, but what I just read says "works with most downloading services" or uses their cartridges. So I don't really know what all they are capable of. I just think the price is so much nicer if you're worried about them losing the iPod! What about a different brand to start out with, that you can get for much cheaper? I swear by Apple products, but they are certainly never cheap!

OK, I was actually checking these out for RJ ( now 5) and apparently you can buy either their cards or I believe it's a regular sd mem stick and you can also download to it. I know Target had a few of them on sale last week for 25 but I'm not sure if that's still running .. also http://disneyshopping.go.com/webapp...earchOption=All_Shopping&Searchstr=mix sticks I thought of Elizabeth when I saw the JS one.

Vicki, I'm so sorry to hear about your FIL's situtaion. I can totally understand his feeling on the way he wants his remaining time to be. I hope that the rest of the family can come to support him in his decision and make the rest of his time as wonderful as possible Thoughts, prayers and :pixiedust for all of you . Also it's was funny that you asked about the "bug" last night i saw an infomercial on it .. https://www.4cricut.com/vcc/provocraft/cricut/393426/ i'm not sure which is a better deal this or the michael's as i have no expierence with any of this stuff but figure'd i'd offer the info .

Deb, I'm sorry to hear of your boss's loss. She was a very brave woman, and I'm sure that she enjoyed all of her time with her family and friends. It's very hard to make the decision she made. Sometimes I wish that my father had chosen things based more on his wants and quality of life rather then his quantity of time with us as we were younger when he was diagnosed. After watching my father go through everything, my mother made it clear to us that if she were in the same spot even if it happened the day after my dad died. She did not want to go through everything he did. She wanted to be made comfortable and live out her life. ..... I'm so sorry about Nick's project. I'm sure his and Chris' hearts also broke right along with yours. I'm glad that you all could put together a new bow in such a short amount of time. I hope his grade reflects all of his hard work and his ability to correct the situation .

Jen, as for your grandfather continued prayers. From my expierence with chemo and radiation the loss of appetite, weakness and yes even the depression are all side effects of the chemo itself. My father all of his life stood 6'1" and anywhere from 320- 350 lbs .. with chemo and radiation he had lost close to 150 lbs before his end came. I'm sorry if this info is upsetting but you've always sounded like a girl that wants straight foward answers when it comes to this subject. I hope that the tests come back with out the cancer spreading and that the dr's can get your grandfather on meds that will bring him up to par on the eating, strength and depression. :grouphug: to you and all of your family.

Denise, such great news that Rees is home. I hope that he continues to heal and get stronger with each day. I'm sure you still have a struggle ahead of you, but now you've gotten your answers and are on the road to have a happier and healthier lil man to watch grow up. Prayers and pixiedust: to you all in the coming weeks.

Glynis, the pumkpins, kids, goolish decadence and even you wishing Allen to face plant in the wet cement were great !! Sorry about Snow White's demise but I'm sure the fun of the night made up for it all.

Elin, I'm glad that you have such a nice weekend drive. I hope that Kristin is feeling better asap...

Jennifer(tink), good thoughts for the sticky to be stuck!!

Jennifer, I hope the itchy is at least controlable 'till you can figure out what's causing it.

Heidi, I hope that John's all better now and doesn't have to deal with anymore sickies.

I know I'm missing alot but my head is mush right now. Little Miss Congestion and I didn't get much sleep last night. I hope this clears up for her soon.. this weekend we went "window shopping" for bikes for the kids. Good old Toys R US... this of course was after they've already circled EVERYTHING in the "big book" so of course they had to try and find everything in the store while we were there. I get to start looking at 16" bikes for Prince RJ ( yes my 5 year old is a shortie) and 12" bikes for my Princess.... I also saw that the disney princess line also has their own "easy bake oven" I'm thinking of getting it and putting it away for her birthday .. i have to check on the ages for it yet. I have no clue on christmas pressents for anyone other then the kids .. I just found out that my neice is into thepin collecting .. so i'll be looking for a few pins for her. So I'm sure I'll have lots of questions for our resident " Crazy Pin Ladies", again I have no clue on the subject at hand. We have all of one Pin and it's RJ's from his birthday trip on '05. http://www.pinpics.com/cgi-bin/group.cgi?group=455&pin=41817 other then that. I think it's time to attempt to catch up on all the stuff i never get done on the weekends Have a great day DDA !!

Good thoughts and a little PD would be appreciated in the early evening for Jake's team. They are playing for the championship tonight, that is, if they get the times worked out. They forgot about the time change and scheduled it too late (no lights on the field). He didn't play very well last Thursday, so I'm hoping tonight is a better game for Jake.

Have a great day, DDA!

Good luck to Jake's team tonight! I hope that they have a good game.

Good morning, DDA! I hope this morning finds you all well. Not much was accomplished around here over the weekend. Everyone seemed to be over the whole time.

We did have a good time at the zoo. Phil was alternately stressed by the situation and in awe of being so close to the animals and of their actions. The weather was beautiful and the animals were fairly active.

This morning I've been sitting here testing my vocabulary knowledge at http://www.freerice.com/index.php . I'm happy that I'm doing better than I anticipated that I might. Guess those Latin roots I learned in 9th grade are coming in handy.

Now I've just got to get myself back to getting the playroom back in order. Mom is hosting a Mops outing here on Thursday and I need to make sure 10 kids have room to play in here and can find things. Of course, it would help if I quit feeling dizzy every time I move my head. I've taken Advil in case its a migraine coming on, but so far no improvement. Prehaps the work will be done mostly tomorrow. I did knock three steps off of my list. Now there are just 14 to go (though about 5 of them could easily wait until after the playdate).

Happy Monday everyone!

Tia - Feel better soon! Just the thought of 10 preschoolers in a house makes me break out in a cold sweat. I have now gotten an e-mail reminding me to bring my money for the play group Thanksgiving basket and advising me that I will be provided with a total for what I owe on the Christmas basket. I am not impressed, and I am NOT giving them any money! I like to choose my own charities!

Heather - Hello! :)

Off to work! I hate getting there this early because I get stuck late there every day now it seems :headache: , but I have my blood work at 8:15 so I need to be there to get a few things done prior to leaving for a bit.

Have a wonderful day, DDA!

I hope your appt. this morning went well, Jennifer. Still thinking sticky, sticky thoughts for you! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Becky -sounds like you NEED that trip to WDW to relax. I am betting your sore shoulders and back can be traced back to stress. Take care of yourself.

I was thinking the same thing. Get some rest, Becky!

Thank you.
He did go to work today. But that doesn't mean anything, he would have to be dying before staying home.

Maybe it's a male thing. Jonathan is the same way (although when he is sick he becomes an ultra-invalid! ). I, however, am not as adverse to the idea of a sick day. ;) I'd prefer mental health days!!!

Lindsay - We have Samsonite and Delsey luggage, but none of it matches.:rotfl2: I get it on sale at Dillard's for 75% off but that means one piece at a time. Marshall's carries Delsey but the colors are funky. DH has a Delsey 21" carry on and a larger 24" or 26" suitcase that he really likes. Our Samsonites are holding up pretty well. The first set of luggage I bought at Foley's (Olympia?) was crap and fell apart after the second use. I do have another no-name set that has held up OK but we don't use that one since I bought another Samsonite.

I really don't care a ton about mismatching - it's more about quality. The London Fog bag we have is fine for now, but is showing some wear (I bought a 4-piece set from Overstock about 3 years ago for about $150). It doesn't have as much storage/compartments as I would like, though, and if we like these new bags, then we can always ask for another suiter for Christmas - it would be an easy thing for someone in our family to do.

That being said, if they had just sold this Delsey line in red, we probably would have just ordered it in red to match the LF bag, and been done with it! :goodvibes I do like colored luggage, as it's so much easier to pick out at the airport.

Well today the men come to remodel my moms bathroom. So my sister is sleeping here for a couple of days. (she works nights.)

Good luck! New tile last year in my bathroom was enough to send me over the edge - I don't know that I would have the stomach for a full remodel. I hope they do a great job for your mom!

Jen -- I have a feeling that Wal Mart is out of the blankets. I saw a bunch of them last year so I know they carried them at least then, and though I agree with Lindsay's assessment of how much more expensive everything will be now that the Cowboys are doing well, those blankets were ordered a while ago before everyone realized the Cowboys wouldn't implode at the first of the season, as they normally do. ;) Anything with a Cowboy logo is flying off of store shelves -- even from Albertson's! I will go ahead and check when I'm in this week, but I think Deb and Tammi's ideas are good ones.

Lindsay -- call me if you need help with anything. You are going to two of my favorite places! :)

Yes, I figured when I saw a little flag for one's car at Wal-Mart for $12+, I wasn't going to have much luck with a $4 blanket!

Jen, I did see the fleece material at JoAnn's the other night - I believe it was $12.99/yard, if you have any difficulty finding it.

Thanks, Marci! I wish I had your prior knowledge to fall back on. For whatever reason, I am really getting nervous about the cruise! I guess it's just the fear of the unknown. And I would hate to add to your to do list - you have a ton on your plate!! But I appreciate the offer. :)

Good luck, Jake!!!!!!:wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

I'd be mad too, but car theft is pretty prevailant these days. It is a good reminder to us all to lock doors and take safety precautions even in our own driveways. It is such a sad world that we live in.

Agreed. It is very sad.

DH picked DS up from school Friday to go to the diagnostician. The school called me this morning and said they must have documentation from the Dr.'s office that DS was REALLY there. WHO makes these rules?:headache: I had to call the Dr. and ask them to send a fax to the school. Stupid people irritate me.:sad2: Now I am in a quandary as to how to get him out of school to go to WDW. I think I will just go in Wednesday and tell them we have a family emergency and we need to be on a plane in 2 hours, he'll be back Monday, end of story.

Good luck! That's what my SIL decided to do with my niece - she's going to send a note to her kindergarten teacher the Friday before they leave and just say she's going to be out-of-town with her family the following weak. She said there's some loophole in their rules that talks about attendance for children 6 and older - as my niece is only 5, she's hoping it won't come down to a truancy hearing.

If I forgot you it wasn't on purpose....this dumb meeting where I get to go in and tell my co workers that I don't like working with them has been weighing on my heart. Then I get to go to lunch with them:rolleyes:

I hope your meeting went okay, Theresa. That did not sound fun.

I just got an e-mail from the school that one of the 6th grade teachers died!! I feel bad for her family and co-workers, and also her students. But the selfish part of me is SO SO SO glad this lady wasn't DS's teacher because he couldn't handle something like that. The e-mail said she was a language arts teacher, but she isn't the teacher he has now and she isn't the one he had the first couple of weeks before they changed his schedule so he might not even know who she was. The e-mail didn't have any details at all, so I don't know if she was in an accident or if she was ill or what. Sad.:sad2:

That is really sad. :guilty:

I got a phone call this morning from the Health Services team at VCU! They really wanted to talk to Kristin, not me, but they had our home phone number on record, not Kristin's cell phone number. They were calling to check on her condition. I was pleasantly delighted! Of course, it was 9:00 a.m. so when they called her cell phone, they woke her up. But, the made the follow-up appointment for earlier tomorrow because they want to make certain she is getting better and no other treatment is required. I was impressed since this school has over 32,000 students! :thumbsup2

That is great follow-up! I hope Kristin is on the road to recovery! :wizard:

Hi, Heather! I hope your gang gets to feeling better soon, and that you get all caught up at home!

Glad the zoo was great. Hope the dizziness passes soon. :wizard:

Just wanted to make sure everyone knew that the "Goofy" coupons are back on Disneyshopping.com. There's also a $5 shipping code, but if you're a Disney Visa cardholder, don't forget about the free shipping if spending $75 code. And DVC members - you can take an additional 10% off on top of it all with the montly discount code! All above codes can be stacked.

Mousesavers has the Goofy codes on the frontpage.

I called to make sure the school got the fax from the Dr's office. They DO have it, so hopefully we are all set with that.
Lindsay, does your niece live in TX? Kindergarten isn't mandatory so there is probably some law about that. And the truancy thing wasn't that bad. They just threatened me - they didn't actually DO anything. DS had 4 unexcused absences and they said if he had one more I would have to go to court and pay a $500 fine. The letter I got said I HAD to attend a parent meeting downtown, but I never went and nothing ever happened.:confused3 You would really think they have better things to do with their time.

Poor Nick... He brought his project in and that was fine. They had to type a report on the project and worked on it in class. He finished it and says he saved it several times, but it wouldn't print or save so he had to start over. This project is obviously some sort of test for him. I had him dictate it to me and typed it up for him so hopefully it is all set now. I need to head off to work. I suspect that I may be getting another urinary tract infection as I feel like I've got to go again. so far I can't see or smell any infection so maybe I'm wrong :confused3 I'm keeping my eyes open though because if I get another one I will need some tests run to see why I keep getting them. Fingers crossed that it is just an "off" day.

I sent questions to one of the ebay sellers that I won an auction from and still haven't heard back. I haven't paid yet as I need questions answered for some other items that I might purchase to save on shipping. Hopefully I'll have answers waiting for me after work tonight.

Thank you, Tia.

That is wonderful. I'm sure schools are taking this staph infection business seriously and that is why they are monitoring her so closely.

I honestly feel this is what my aunt died from last month. Her husband had been in the hospital for over a month in back in August. Columbus weekend she went to the hospital with chest pains. They admitted her and ran several tests, but couldn't find anything. Sent her home, told her she had a virus around her heart and that she was to have some follow-up tests. They discharged her, she made appts., and died the following weekend in her sleep. No doctor would sign the death certificate. My dad was hoping my uncle would opt for an autopsy but he didn't. So now we will never know.

She is in kindergarten, and that is their #1 argument. I can't remember how all this came about, but I do know my SIL said something to her teacher at the very beginning of the year about her being out for a week in early December for this trip. Not sure if the teacher said something to the school, or if my SIL was just reading all the rules, and started to get concerned. She said they could hope it blows over, face the truancy court, or withdraw my niece, and then re-enroll her when she gets back, but they won't guarantee that she'll have the same teacher. :confused3 So, they've just decided to take their chances and see what happens. She's not even required to be there, so hopefully the truancy board wouldn't be interested in wasting their time.

The more and more I hear about public schools, the better private schools are sounding!

Ugh - it does sound like one of those projects! I hope things calm down for all of you. :wizard: :wizard: for no more UTI's.

I agree about the luggage.... I had such tacky luggage growing up (a hand-me down) that I insisted on black for our wedding.... and now I wish I had anything but! :rotfl:

Making the fleece is a good idea too, but still expensive. I was going to make one for my family, but saw similar prices for the fleece. When you need 1.5-2 yards each of 2 different fleeces, it ends up being over $50 still!

I hope everyone had good weekends. I need to get to bed soon, but am trying to squeeze out a few last minute things on my "to do" list.
:wizard: Good luck as you continue to tackle your to do list.

I agree with this! Maybe you can join Tom on eBay! ;)
Thanks but no way!

And Molly has been very whiny the past couple of days, it's driving me  Her allergies are bothering her. We just switched her meds but they haven't kicked in yet.

Bernadette- Love Joe's hat!! I would love to learn how to knit but I don't have the patience.
:wizard: Hope Molly's feeling better soon!

You seem to have way more patience than me but you don't seem to ever sit down.;)

:scared1: she made it for your son!!?
Gee just tape a big ole KICK ME sign to his back. :sad2:
Glad you made him a new one.
Those were my exact words! My SIL is brilliant-a degree in biochemistry but doesn't always think-not that she's totally lacking in common sense like some brilliant folks but sometimes things like a hot pink hat for a boy happen.

Tylenol Sinus PM.
I may have to try that one.

My dad is a hunter. He has always left his gun and/or bow in the truck. has never bothered to lock the truck when parked at their house. Well he goes out to go hunting this morning and somebody stole them from his truck, plus his briefcase, perscription sun glasses, and 36 dolllars he had in a cubby in the truck. from my brothers truck a grease gun and flash light, from my moms truck 15 dollars she had in a cubby

I am mad that this happened
I'm so sorry!

Dadboss has a brand new Mac computer. Anybody know how to make the web page display as full screen instead of just a box in the middle? It's annoying me!

Did you figure out the Mac? Of course I'm not on my mac right now but there should be an "expand" button on the top LEFT hand side of the page or you can drag and make the window bigger from the lower right hand corner of the page.

I'm so lucky I don't have issues with school.

Joe's new knit hat was great...what a smile he had for the camera!!

Could you send one to Terra, please?
Any favorite characters?

There was a special section in the Boston Sunday Globe on the World Series win. I'll get those in the mail before I go away. We had our celebratory lunch today. We all get really nice World Series hats.

:goodvibes Not caught up but didn't want to lose these multiquotes....

Well, my mom and brother got home from the shore a little bit ago and things just arent looking good. On Tuesday, my grandpa will be going for tests to see if the cancer is spreading. He wants to know if the problems he has been having are a result of the cancer spreading or from the chemo. He hasnt been eating and is veryw eak and depressed..started talking about DNR orders and hospice..just a really hard night..sorry, had to get it out
I'm so sorry to hear this news Jen. FWIW, I really loved Hospice during my Mom's final days..:grouphug:

Vicki - do you have a Michael's?

I just noticed in their circular from today's paper that they have the Cricut Complete Starter Set that Stephanie mentioned for $199.99. (Regularly $299.99, and if you purchased everything separately, supposedly a $379.99 value.)

It includes cutter, cartridge, paper and cardstock pads, trimmer, tool kit, mats, blades, manual, power adapter and more.

If you don't have a Michael's and this sounds like a good deal to you, I'm sure Santa could always ship it from Texas. ;)
That's a great price!:goodvibes

Thank you, thank you, thank you! :dance3: I knew they didn't take the regular 40% off coupon. I'll be stopping at every Michael's on the way to Lansing until I find one in stock. If they don't have any, I'll have you check and see if you can get one there. I'm going to own my own bug!
Woo Hoo:woohoo:

We just had a major crisis in our house  Nick has an Aztec project due and he decided to make a bow and arrow. He worked on it all week, selected a stick, whittled the bark off, painted the designs on it. He just needed 2 holes drilled for the string and help stringing it. I drilled the holes and he apparently asked dh to string it. DH (aka bull in a China shop) pulled the string too tight and snaped the stick into many small pieces. This was 10 minutes after Nick's bedtime. Then he went out to find another stick, but came back with a straight one so we both went out in the dark searching for an appropriate branch. Remember we have NO trees on our property so I hope we didn't flash our light into our neighbors houses while we searched the outskirts of their properties. We finally found on that will work. Dh had to cut it to the right size and then he took it out and whittled the bark off. I drilled holes and added the string and now Nick is trying to paint it again. He had put a lot of thought into his paint scheme using gold and green because the Aztecs cherished gold and jade. Hopefully it will dry overnight and Nick won't be too tired tomorrow.

I swear that I read everything, but I can't remember now.

Great pictures Glynis.

Yey for the Pats.

sorry guys my head is mush right now, not to mention the headache. The look on Nick's face when the branch snapped broke my heart.
Hope it turned out okay Deb. Poor Hunter.:guilty:

Great pictures GLynis!!:goodvibes

Can I just take a moment to remind you that God still works miracles! After dozens of injections, lots of money, biopsies of places that shouldn't be poked with needles :rolleyes1 , etc....

I am definitely pregnant! :yay:

Of course, now I've joined the ranks of "normal" barely pregnant women who will worry for the next several weeks. But my beta today was great, if not high. :goodvibes We'll have a "head count" ultrasound in about 2 weeks! :rotfl:

I can't believe I'm talking about it this early, but I guess that's what happens when you have to go a bit less secretive route  Please continue to keep us in your prayers! We'll be a bit quiet about it for a while still, but are starting to get excited. For now, I'm mostly excited that my progesterone dose is being tapered. The wonders of medicated cycles.... I'll feel better pregnant than I did trying to get there!

Thanks again for all of your support!

Bernadette - Nope, haven't figured out the Mac. I can make the display smaller and I can move it around but I can't get it to expand.:confused3

Lindsay - I think the problem is that she is enrolled in Kindergarten and therefore is bound by the attendance policies. My theory is that they go after families like mine to make an example out of us. I'm also not clear on where that $500 fine goes. Does it go to Dallas County (as in the courts/penal system) or does it go to DISD? Because if the district gets to keep the money then they will go after families who are likely to pay the fine. Maybe you should ask one of the attorneys at your firm what their take on it is. ExMomboss was all about bringing a civil rights suit against the district if they tried to pursue the fine or the misdemeanor charges. The school district really shouldn't get to tell you what you can and can not do with your child.

DS brought home a letter about the teacher who passed away. He didn't know her, but he says she had cancer. :guilty:

Jennifer, when I saw you were the last person to post on the thread, I just had a feeling this would be the news.

THAT IS SO WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU AND KYLE! :cheer2: :woohoo: :cheer2: :woohoo: :cheer2: :woohoo:

I'll do a few of these for good measure, too. Who knows, you might have a few. ;)

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Now, just try to take it easy, and don't stress yourself out!

Jennifer - That is WONDERFUL!!!:cheer2: I am cautiously optimistic for you!:goodvibes I hope things continue to be stuck, and flourish over the next few weeks!
I took an EPT the day before TOM was supposed to start when we were trying to have DS. It was positive so I told EVERYBODY. Nothing wrong with being excited! My mother (and DH) told me I shouldn't say anything because something could go wrong, but if something HAD gone wrong I would have wanted the support of my friends so I didn't see any harm in telling people.:)
