Well today the men come to remodel my moms bathroom. So my sister is sleeping here for a couple of days. (she works nights.)

pixiedust: :wizard: pixiedust: :wizard: for all that are feeling under the weather. Hope ya all start feeling better soon.

Thanks guys--ill have to give up on the 4.00 fleece..but i was talking to deb and she showed me where i can buy dallas fabric and just buy 60" of that and theres my blanket!

Jen -- I have a feeling that Wal Mart is out of the blankets. I saw a bunch of them last year so I know they carried them at least then, and though I agree with Lindsay's assessment of how much more expensive everything will be now that the Cowboys are doing well, those blankets were ordered a while ago before everyone realized the Cowboys wouldn't implode at the first of the season, as they normally do. ;) Anything with a Cowboy logo is flying off of store shelves -- even from Albertson's! I will go ahead and check when I'm in this week, but I think Deb and Tammi's ideas are good ones.

Denise -- I hope Rees is doing well. I'm still sending lots of prayers to him and the Figs!

Deb -- I'm so sorry about the project. I know Chris must have felt bad, even though it was an accident. Hopefully it dried overnight and looks good this morning.

Elizabeth -- it's going to be hot today -- 86, so those carpets should dry quickly!

Lindsay -- call me if you need help with anything. You are going to two of my favorite places! :)

Good thoughts and a little PD would be appreciated in the early evening for Jake's team. They are playing for the championship tonight, that is, if they get the times worked out. They forgot about the time change and scheduled it too late (no lights on the field). He didn't play very well last Thursday, so I'm hoping tonight is a better game for Jake.

Have a great day, DDA!

Hmm... I didn't know the answer for sure, but what I just read says "works with most downloading services" or uses their cartridges. So I don't really know what all they are capable of. I just think the price is so much nicer if you're worried about them losing the iPod! What about a different brand to start out with, that you can get for much cheaper? I swear by Apple products, but they are certainly never cheap!
Hmm.....guess I need to start researching.

Good luck with your appt. today.

Elizabeth, what is it about men? It not like work will fall apart if they stay home. :headache:

Good Morning. I didn't see Nick leave this morning, but the bow is gone and I didn't hear any crying or screaming so he must have been happy. I need to get laundry and a bunch of other things done this morning so hopefully you won't see me hanging out on here. I've been bad lately and it shows.

Can you download to it or do you have to use their cards?

Somebody probably answered you but you can download about 20 songs to it (depending on the size of the file)

need to vent

My dad is a hunter. He has always left his gun and/or bow in the truck. has never bothered to lock the truck when parked at their house. Well he goes out to go hunting this morning and somebody stole them from his truck, plus his briefcase, perscription sun glasses, and 36 dolllars he had in a cubby in the truck. from my brothers truck a grease gun and flash light, from my moms truck 15 dollars she had in a cubby

I am mad that this happened

I'd be mad too, but car theft is pretty prevailant these days. It is a good reminder to us all to lock doors and take safety precautions even in our own driveways. It is such a sad world that we live in.

YIKES!!!!:scared1:

I am sorry, maybe it will remind them to lock up.

DH has always been like that.:confused3

Jennifer, I am so sorry!:guilty: We have that big campaign "Lock, take, hide" to remind people never to leave anything valuable in their cars and always lock the doors. I don't lock my car when I have it in my bosses' garage, but otherwise it is always locked. People will steal ANYTHING.:sad2:

Marci - :wizard: Lots of PD for the game tonight! It is warm, isn't it? High of 84 today!:scared:

Dadboss has a brand new Mac computer. Anybody know how to make the web page display as full screen instead of just a box in the middle? It's annoying me!

Carpet guys are on their way.

DH picked DS up from school Friday to go to the diagnostician. The school called me this morning and said they must have documentation from the Dr.'s office that DS was REALLY there. WHO makes these rules?:headache: I had to call the Dr. and ask them to send a fax to the school. Stupid people irritate me.:sad2: Now I am in a quandary as to how to get him out of school to go to WDW. I think I will just go in Wednesday and tell them we have a family emergency and we need to be on a plane in 2 hours, he'll be back Monday, end of story.

Let me see if my feeble brain can catch up-

Glynis-loved the pictures!! You are my creative idol!!

Deb-I am sorry Nick's project shattered...hope his grade reflects the effort shown in rebuilding. You are my other creative idol!! Please pass on our condolences to your boss, what a couragous woman his wife was.

Joe's new knit hat was great...what a smile he had for the camera!!

Becky-could your pain be lung related??? I am sure stress is in there but do you have a cold or something affecting your breathing??

Jen-hope the blood test proves the sticky thoughts stuck!!

Vicki-I am sorry about your father in law, it is hard to remember that decisions about our bodies and lives are just that, ours and not family members. May he be at peace with his decision and the rest of the family too.

Jen-I am sorry your grandpa is declining. I will keep him in my prayers.

If I forgot you it wasn't on purpose....this dumb meeting where I get to go in and tell my co workers that I don't like working with them has been weighing on my heart. Then I get to go to lunch with them:rolleyes:

Theresa - I am sorry your day is starting off like that.:guilty: I hope it goes better than you think!

I just got an e-mail from the school that one of the 6th grade teachers died!! I feel bad for her family and co-workers, and also her students. But the selfish part of me is SO SO SO glad this lady wasn't DS's teacher because he couldn't handle something like that. The e-mail said she was a language arts teacher, but she isn't the teacher he has now and she isn't the one he had the first couple of weeks before they changed his schedule so he might not even know who she was. The e-mail didn't have any details at all, so I don't know if she was in an accident or if she was ill or what. Sad.:sad2:

Good morning, DDA! :sunny:

We are headed to Richmond for brunch with the girls this morning. Actually, we are taking Kristin's winter coat and some sweaters to her. It is supposed to get cold here this week and she does not have the clothing for it. She also needs to do some grocery shopping and I don't want her walking the 10 blocks over and back to Kroger. Kathrin offered to take her, but I want to go check on her too.

She went to the clinic on Friday because she was still not feeling better. Turns out her "viral" thingy is now full-blown bronchitis and they gave her 2 bronchial dilator treatments while she was there. Also sent her home with a Z-pack, prednisone and an inhaler. She has a follow-up appointment next week too.

I hope that Kristin is feeling better ASAP! :wizard:

Thank you, Tia.

I got a phone call this morning from the Health Services team at VCU! They really wanted to talk to Kristin, not me, but they had our home phone number on record, not Kristin's cell phone number. They were calling to check on her condition. I was pleasantly delighted! Of course, it was 9:00 a.m. so when they called her cell phone, they woke her up. But, the made the follow-up appointment for earlier tomorrow because they want to make certain she is getting better and no other treatment is required. I was impressed since this school has over 32,000 students! :thumbsup2

Well, my mom and brother got home from the shore a little bit ago and things just arent looking good. On Tuesday, my grandpa will be going for tests to see if the cancer is spreading. He wants to know if the problems he has been having are a result of the cancer spreading or from the chemo. He hasnt been eating and is veryw eak and depressed..started talking about DNR orders and hospice..just a really hard night..sorry, had to get it out

:grouphug:  :grouphug:  :grouphug:  I'm sorry that things aren't look good for your grandpa. You are all in our prayers.

We just had a major crisis in our house  Nick has an Aztec project due and he decided to make a bow and arrow. He worked on it all week, selected a stick, whittled the bark off, painted the designs on it. He just needed 2 holes drilled for the string and help stringing it. I drilled the holes and he apparently asked dh to string it. DH (aka bull in a China shop) pulled the string too tight and snaped the stick into many small pieces. This was 10 minutes after Nick's bedtime. Then he went out to find another stick, but came back with a straight one so we both went out in the dark searching for an appropriate branch. Remember we have NO trees on our property so I hope we didn't flash our light into our neighbors houses while we searched the outskirts of their properties. We finally found on that will work. Dh had to cut it to the right size and then he took it out and whittled the bark off. I drilled holes and added the string and now Nick is trying to paint it again. He had put a lot of thought into his paint scheme using gold and green because the Aztecs cherished gold and jade. Hopefully it will dry overnight and Nick won't be too tired tomorrow.

I swear that I read everything, but I can't remember now.

Great pictures Glynis.

Yey for the Pats.

sorry guys my head is mush right now, not to mention the headache. The look on Nick's face when the branch snapped broke my heart.

Yikes! Poor, Nick. I'm glad you were able to get another one made even though it was late. I hope he does well on the project!
