Janet - The 3 pc. luggage set is a heavier fabric than the 5 pc., which explains why the sets are the same price. I have one big suitcase that is maybe 30". I pack the majority of my August stuff in that one and it has never been over the 50 lb. limit. They DO weigh it though. Our others are 24", and I think all of our carry-ons are 21". The carry-on in the 5 pc. set is only 19", so it is small for a carry on. We do have one rolling duffle but I don't know the dimensions on it - it is small enough to carry on.

We have found that it is better for us to carry on the largest allowable pieces no matter how long the trip will be, and then everybody carries a backpack as their "personal item". DH has a really nice Samsonite carry-on but it only holds maybe 1 outfit and some toiletries. I guess it is really an "overnight" bag. It's too big to be a personal item, so now we never use that one.

The kids don't have school the rest of the week. I have to go into work until about 10, then I'm heading home, hopefully before traffic gets too horrendous. I have to make a pumpkin pie and frost the cookies I made on Sunday.

It was part of the Scholastic House Party...I got it free so I passed it on.

I am so glad she likes her big sister present...I kept looking for the perfect present...that seemed to be it.

Abi got her ears pierced Saturday....today Jim stepped on her hair...HARD..she goes to clean her earrings like she is supposed to and the earring falls out on the side he stepped on. They just left to see if they could repierce that ear.

I feel so bad for Abi and I said a not so nice word about Jim when I saw her ear.

Our ornament exchanges are in the mail. Hopefully you should be receiving them in the next few days!

In the mail today we got packages from Virginia, Molly and Lucy! The ornaments are darling! I'll take some pictures and post them. You guys are the best!!! Actually, my kids haven't seen the ornaments, yet. They get them on Christmas Eve. The extras, however, they get now, and they love them!!!! Jennifer and Robyn, you guys really went the extra mile. Thank you.

Yay!! I'm glad they arrived safely. I hope the girls didn't mind that I only mailed one package. Molly picked out Katie's all by herself (it's one of her favorite characters- go figure) Hope she likes it!!

Terra's ornament came from Emma today. She LOVES it!!! It is the bouncy Goofy ornament from DS and she had been playing with it every time we were in the store. She also got a puzzle, kalidescope, yoyo, pencil and eraser. Everything was a big hit. Thanks, Emma!!

Oh Tia, what a relief!! We went into the DS looking for the "slinky Pluto" but they didn't have him. I thought Goofy was on her list and when I got home and double checked and it wasn't (it was on Mary's) I about died. I was scared she wouldn't like it.

Anne Marie - My mother just announced 2 weeks ago that they were coming for Thanksgiving! It never occurred to me that she would drive down here. I assumed DH would have to work so I was thrilled when Momboss invited us to Thanksgiving. I guess if I was a good daughter I would have cancelled on Momboss and told DH he needs to cook, but we have already established that I am NOT a good daughter.

Ugh!!!!! I spent a good 10 years trying to please everyone in the family...now I stop & think "what is best for may family?" Both my MIL & Mom can be toxic when they want to be.

she was on the floor pillow, hair off to the side and he stepped without looking where he was going . He has always had heavy steps but I think he caught the edge of the pillow on his way down so actually stepped down twice trying to find the ground.
