I am interrupting my own catch-up phase of DISing tonight to ask a favor from someone as yet unknown. While I was sitting at the airport waiting to go through security Wednesday evening, my student Patrick sent me a text message asking if I had taken my laptop along on vacation. When I told him no, he sent me some wonderful news that he could not wait to share until I got home.

He has been invited to play his composition from the national concert this past summer at the 2008 NAMM Convention (National Association of Music Merchants) which is held at the Anaheim Convention Center every January! Last year over 87,000 people attended this event!! I will tell you all more about it later, but the reason I am asking for help is that we need a headshot ASAP for all the publicity. His Mom took a decent one, with gorgeous foliage in the background. I fear that Yamaha Corporate will want a more "professional" background. Is there anyone who would have the time and be willing to change out the background for a more "mottled" backdrop in the next couple of hours?

I can email you the JPEG file if I have any takers. Just PM me so I dont miss any replies. If no one has the time, I fully understand! Just thought I would come here and ask before I send this off to California, with the possibility that it will be returned as unusable.
I would do it in a heartbeat, if I knew how. Congrats to Patrick!!! :yay:

We made it to the Pumpkin in the Park event 45 minutes late and they were just wrapping up the costume contest. Hunter didn't care and went off to play, but Colby insisted that I take him over to the judges. He was Dracula in his coffin. They only give out 3 trophies, one for scariest, one for cutest and one for most original. Colby was sure that he was the scariest, but he's just too cute to be scary. In the end he did win the most original trophy. He was on cloud 9. I'm glad that we got off our butts and took them as they all had fun. I was feeling guilty that I can't take them trick or treating on Wednesday since I have to work so at least I got to be a part of this :goodvibes
See...............

Supermom. :teeth:

Yay for Colby.

We are home. I am back on page 9623 valiantly trying to catch up on over a week's worth of posts! As I wade through all of thes, is there anything of great import I need to know right away? If so, someone please PM me as this may take a while! ;)

Oh, yeah... we had a BLAST! :)

OMG I caught up to myself!! :rotfl:

Yours are great too. I bet a photopass photographer gave you their card. I hope they had the card number written down. That happen to me on Lizzy’s birthday trip. The photographer insisted that I had not given him my card but in fact he had given my card to the Chip and Dale fanatic in front of us. She had lots of photos taken, gave the presents, more photos. Got her card back and then went back for more photos after I had already given the photographer my card. I went to the photo shop right away and found my photos but I always take a photo of my photopass card now.
Great idea. A lot better than writing it down.

Congrats Patrick,
sorry I don't know how or I would too

 for Colby!

We went to Emma's school Pumpkin Festival. In other words, too many kids and parents crammed into the cafeteria playing cheesy games for even cheesier prizes. But all the girls had fun. My sister, niece, Dana and her 2 dd's along with my 3 and Allyson. Came home and had pizza for dinner.

Even though we find those events trying it is amazing how much fun the kids have

I would do it in a heartbeat, if I knew how. Congrats to Patrick!!! :yay:

I agree, I don't know how to deal with photos other than push print :lmao:

I may end up doing that too. And give it to the boys! :rolleyes1 ;)

I hear that Vanilla has a high alcohol content :lmao:

Great idea. A lot better than writing it down.

I have one of the waterpark photopass cards attached to our retractable passholder. The card never leaves my possesion. I just tell them that I have one and pass it to them after the photos are taken. It is much smaller and easier to keep track of that way :thumbsup2
That is one of the attachments to my supermom utilitybelt :lmao: :lmao:

Bernadette love Emma's school picture!
Thanks!

OK, so EIGHT of us didn't make the panel. better.;)
I didn’t even do the application. I really didn’t have the time to do it and I figured I wasn’t really sure I wanted to do it. I didn’t think I really had the time to do the required number of responses per week. And I wasn’t sure my response would be what Disney would want to hear.

That is better than I had originally thought I would get! So I am happy with that!:yay:
Congrats Tom!

So who leaves next for WDW? I have a request (just for an answer! :)), and I was just curious if anyone was going soon.... :confused3
I think that would be me. I arrive 11/8. I know we will do MK on the 9th. I would be happy to check it out for you. In fact, a friend has asked me to see if I could the small print for him. I could call you from the store. Maybe we could arrange a time around your lunch time for me to call you.

Jim did cancel that today....the doofus...who needs an extended warranty on a car that still has most of the original warranty still on it?? espescially to $2111....when I know I can get it for a better price!!
That’s great news that you were able to cancel that!!!!

Welcome home!!
Nothing big happened while you were gone :rolleyes1

How big was Kristin?

Little old us

I am going to issue a blanket "THANK YOU" to everyone who is about to wish me a "WELCOME HOME!" Otherwise I will never get caught up... :rotfl:

Kristin weighed in at only 7 lbs 3 oz. They were both 21 inches long. So with over a pound and a half difference in their birth weight, they were like two different species!

So weird! i was 7 lbs, 3 oz and 21 inches long!

Both Kristine and Kevin have graciously offered to help with my photo "issues" so a great big thanks to them for even trying. It may be a too time-consuming task but the offers were so greatly appreciated, you guys! :goodvibes

I hope everything goes well for Rees!!:wizard:

So far I have managed to gather that the Bounce Back started 10/20, it is for select dates in Jan, Feb, ?April?, and August, beginning 8/10. 20% off Value, 30% off Mod, 40% off Deluxe. The lady who posted wasn't sure how long they will be taking ressies on the Bounce Back, so I will cross my fingers for them to run it through the end of the year! I would ABSOLUTELY book 8/10 - 8/17 on that offer! The front half of my dates will just be on AAA or AP.:)
OK I couldn’t help myself….had to calculate it and I would SAVE about $50/night if I booked POR. I think the family suite will be worth the $50.

well Virginia's jaundice level is still up but not as bad as yesterday. Her weight is still dropping. Luckily I feel like my milk is in this morning. If she does not start eating better the dr wants me to give her an ounce of formula after breastfeeding. hoping the feedings start getting better.
Hope BF is going better. I had trouble with all of mine. I took an herbal supplement (fenugreek or something like that) with Emma and I did do much better. I pumped a work for a little while but that was a challenge because my office had an interior window so I had to use an empty office in HR and didn’t like that. I did continue BF her in the morning & at night until she was 1 year old which was much longer than I managed with the others.

So in Jan. I weighed 177lbs In Feb. I got pregnant. So with being pregnant I was supposed to gain weight, well the first 4 months I lost due to morning sickness got down to 170lbs. months 5-7 I gained got up to 187lbs. Became a Gestational Diabetic at the end of my 7th month. Started losing weight again on 10/18 I had Drs. appt. I weighed 180lbs. Had the baby on 10/21 she weighed 7lbs 4oz when I weighed myself Tues. morning I was 169 lbs that is less then what I weighed before I got pregnant
Congrats!

I certainly hope so. She does have him wrapped around his finger. Maybe if we can get some of that :wizard: sprinkled upon us like so many did this week, that might help my cause as well. ;)
I shouldn’t even say this but….if he doesn’t get it on the first trip with his DD don’t give up. His first trip was in Dec 94 before kids. He had a great time but thought he had seen it all. We went as a family for first time in Jan 2004 for Joe's 3rd birthday. We went in both Oct 04 and Oct 05. My DH didn’t “get it” til the last day of our August 2006 trip. Emma had been sick and had to stay in the hotel room with DH on the last full day of our trip. On our departure day I insisted we go to MK so Emma would have fun memories instead of being sick. Joe fell asleep on the bus to MK so we discovered he was sick. I had DH take Emma & Lizzy on the Pooh ride while I took Joe, in a stroller, to get fast passes for Buzz. When we met up again DH said to me “You should have seen her on that ride.” He finally got it. I even have photos of him smiling on our August 07 trip. He hasn’t asked to go again but he’s not complaining about it anymore.

i was watching--not the best first innng ever!
I think it depends on your perspective.;)

Jeff is off this week and I am hoping to get him to finish his honey do list that he did not get done before Virginia came. Unfortunately I don't think I will get my carpets cleaned. As the girls and I can't go over to my moms while the carpet dries as my dad had not been feeling well, before Virginia came. My dad does not like drs. he felt so bad that on tues he went to the dr. The dr told him he was one step away from having Pneumonia so he got a shot of antibiotics and then was given some pills to take as well.
Hope you Dad gets better quick!:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:
