I have the worlds greatest husband! I went downstairs to get some dinner for Matt and Paul already had everything taken care of! He's the greatest. They went to a hockey game tonight - reward for a good report card from Matt.

I however, will be studying for my civil service exam on Saturday. I'm actually applying to three jobs and taking three tests - all Saturday. Two of the tests last 5 hours each and one is 7 hours -- how the heck can I do all that?? Not really sure, but I'll let you know how it goes. I feel like Glynis and Tink2020; I have to go and study now! (there's a phrase that I haven't used in nearly 20 years!)

All 3 tests at once?! Good luck, and prayers for some stamina! :wizard:

I feel so honored to be mentioned, even if all I'm remembered for is studying all the freakin' time! :rotfl:

Thanks to everyone for the kind words about my Mickey parts shirt! (and of course, thanks to the queen for helping me find it- all the pictures I found looked horrible blown up!!)

Hey Vicki, both you and Marti have my cookie recipe, and I've never heard how they turned out! I have a feeling Marti never baked them, but what about you?

Amy :)

I'm not Vicki or Marti, but mine turned out great!

Tammy thanks for the complement. The pic in my siggy is one of the photopass pics. I use a Kodak CX4300 easyshare camera. I was eally surprised at how well it did.

Midnite thanks for the Bad to the Bone design. Did you notice I added a pic of my DS to it? It looks like he is riding on stitches back. This is one of his favorite shirts.

I missed out on the infamous cookie recipe???? Amy, could you PM it to me.... pretty, please :flower3:
Kristin

If you're still giving it out, I'll take it too (as long as you don't mind). I didn't have time during the first round of posting, but now that people have struggled with it so much, I'd love to try it! :goodvibes

Never got them made before our trip. I do bake and your note about making them for Alyssa's party reminded me that I need to try them this week-end. I promise I'll post results & pictures when I get them done.

What a shock the first one that is in the bottom 3? The song they chose was not a good one but never thought they'd make the bottom 3. Kate didn't you vote last night?? ;)

I don't suppose that you want to hear how I found a room for my last minute trip in Feb and found a room for someone else today when they couldn't get anything but deluxes for mid April? Oh man, there I go trying to enable again.

Great story Glynis :teeth: I know I will never be brave enough for this ride, so I will just experience it through all of you :thumbsup2

Actually, there's a very funny story, there. The first time I went on it, I had my wallet with me (but no pockets in my pants to put it in). I asked my brother how I was going to hold on to my wallet and also hold onto the handholds. However, I was my pre-surgery weight, and when I sat down, I couldn't see any handholds. So, I just held on to my wallet really tightly. When we dropped the first time, I can't tell you how much air I caught. It was so frighteningly fun!

The next time I went on it, I held on to the handholds, but didn't have as much fun, so from then on, no handholds for me. However, my brother got a huge laugh at my expense. I'm sure I looked extremely funny as I was the only one not holding on.

Great fun! I can't wait to go back in June! Now that I'm skinnier, it should be a whole new experience.

Now for an update about Grandpa:
He had emergency dialisis today because of the kidney failure. Goes into surgery tomorrow at 6:30am to remove some blockage in the ureters (sp? It's the tubes between the kidney and the bladder..) Both are blocked due to the cancer he has. Depending on how well he handles being under, they want to remove at least one blockage, if not all three, and then try to remove some of the cancer to decrease the pressure. :worried: Now we just wait.

Sending more prayers and PD his (and your) way.

No problem. My son came down with rotovirus when he was just barely 1. He threw up for 12 hours straight, and by the time we got him to the hospital, he was so dehydrated all his veins had collapsed. They finally IV'd him through his jugular vein, and started pumping fluids. The doctor told us to let him nibble on rice krispies and rice chex cereal, and to give him 1 tsp. of pedialyte every 15 minutes until we were sure he could hold it down. It was really scary for a while, but he responded well to the rice cereal and pedialyte. Then we graduated to toast and applesauce. This is a really common diet for kids who have diarrhea and vomiting.

Nick and Hunter got the Rodovirus at the same time. It was horrible. They were 2 and 4 at the time. Hunter got so lathargic that I brought him to the hospital and they decided to keep him overnight for rehydration. That left Nick with my Mom when he started with it. She brought him up the next morning and the pediatrician took one look at him and admitted him too. They put them in the same room which made it easier for me to take care of them both. The IVs worked miracles and they were both released the next day. That is one nasty virus.

Deb
