Tia -

the first time Steve went to WDW with me - I had to force him to go -I was pg with Julia - I had been without him and can you believe we had a trip a year earlier and chose the cash instead (I am not willing to discuss this) so when we were going to visit his parents I talked him into a day and a half in Orlando -

he LOVED LOVED LOVED our day there and we actually bought DVC -

now he says that Disney is his recharger and when he is in a funk it can lift him out of it -

I really think if you could talk Phil into going - he would get that same sense of letting go and being able to be a kid again - and seeing Terra there would only make it better!!!

I wish that would work with my DH! He's been with me once in 1993 and again 3 times (2004 twice and 2005) with our 3 children. He's just so anxious that it makes him nervous to be there. Our last trip was a nightmare. He's on meds now so I'm hopeful next trip will be better.

Ok, here goes. "Grab shell, Dude." I feel like I'm in that scene in Finding Nemo where Marlin & Dory are facing the swirling vortex of terror? Squirt says, "Good afternoon, we're gonna have a great jump today! Okay, crank a hard cutback as you hit the wall! There's a screaming bottom turn, so watch out! Remember: rip it, roll it and punch it!"
But anyway, I'm doing it. I'm finally jumping in on this thread. It's kind of intimidating. lol.
I've posted on this board a bunch. I've posted on this thread once. Tonight, I'll be up a while. Here I am, doing my final postings for the night and I hear the washing machine make a funny noise. I go over there and it's not spinning, it's not agitating. I had to (with help of DH) ring out the entire load and am running them in the dryer in thirds with dry towels. ARGH! Call the repair man tomorrow. So, anyway, I'm up and here I am.
Good luck with the washer! When I retire I want to move to Disney and get a part time job doing laundry at WDW. I figure I'll have lots of experience! I must do 10 to 20 loads/week. And those are HUGE front load washer loads.

I saw a sign once that I really want to hang in my front hall. It says, "If you come to my house to see me, come anytime. If you come to my house to see my house, make an appointment."

That's the way I feel.

I so need that sign. With 3 boys I have no chance of an immaculate house. I consider it "lived in"

Hello DDA.

I'm sorry I haven't been around and I probably won't be much for awhile.I do check email and Pms though.I'm just not up to socializing right now.

I really need help ,your prayers to help me get through a really, really rotten time in my life. :sad1: Things have been bad for several months and are probably going to get worse before they get better and I need some extra strength to carry me through.

Thanks.

Baloo. We are here to lean on. Let us know how we can help in any way. Here is some :wizard: :wizard: :grouphug: :grouphug: for you in the meantime.

Ours is, "If you can't make yourself at home, then that's where you ought to be!"

Deb-got a question for you...what age does Cub Scouts start? I think my DS(5) would really love it. Does it start in K like girl scouts? He'll be in K next year.

Tiger scouts is the introductory level and it starts in 1st grade. It is a good program and involves the families. Our whole family has benefited from it.

Okay, okay. So that Amy doesn't start stalking me, I had better get these pictures up. :teeth:

Here are the pictures from our quick trip two weeks ago. Was it that recently? I'm already ready to go back again!

My pics:

My pictures are mostly just character pics this time since I didn't want to take my laptop to dump the cards this time. I figured that since I just took all of the parade/ride pics a few months ago, retakes could wait until October. In all, we had such a great time! We hit all of the parks for at least a half day, did a little walking around DTD and saw all of the nighttime shows in our 2 nights, 2 half days and 1 full day. Of course, I'd love to be there longer, but I'll take a short trip like that whenever I can get it.

ETA - And their even chronological this time! ;)

Tia-thanks for sharing your great photos! Looks like you had a great trip in such a short time. I am taking just DD for 4 nights to celebrate her 7th birthday in mid May. Can I ask a few questions?

What did you think of Garden Grill? I've got an ADR for our first night and have never been. I was thinking it would be easier for me since its not a buffet.

How did your clip board work for autographs? I was thinking of making an autograph book for DD. I was going to use card stock and print 2 to a sheet and cut them a bit bigger than 4 x 6 and hole punch them. Then after we got home I could cut them down to 4 x 6 to put in a photo album and cut the holes off. BUT...then I saw that Staples sells blank 4 x 6 index cards and I was thinking how much easier that would be than cutting them out. SO...I did purchase a small clip board to use. I saw that you had one in your photos and it looked like it was working out fine for you. I was also thinking of putting something like "Celebrating Lizzy's 7th Birthday" on the top of all the cards and "Walt Disney World May 2006" on the bottom. The only problem I see with this is that I won't be able to use any of the cards we may not see characters for on a future trip. I thought doing the "celebrating...." text might get Lizzy (who can be shy) a bit more attention.

Did you fly out of Providence? I flew out of Manchester last Aug but haven't used Providence yet. What did you think of that airport?

Any other advice for traveling alone with DD? I did take her 2 days early last Oct but we met my friend and her DD from FL at Disney. I'm really looking forward to this one on one time with her.

I also wanted to send you a bit of pixiedust: I can understand what you're going through.

Kate --

Congrats on your DH's new contract!

Also, beautiful new designs. I especially love the Magic ones -- I have the magic on the brain and can't wait for our trip in July!

Kate I really like this bag :thumbsup2

I have used a clipboard my last two trips and it would work way better than having them paper clipped in my opinion

the characters need something solid to sign on - the clipboards are more solid than books and have always worked great for us!!

I think this is our new house motto. :rotfl: :rotfl: .

Just today my Mother was mentioning that I really need to paint the inside of our house and we need to get the new floors in..blah blah blah. I don't want to paint until we can put the floors in and we can't put the floors in until our old dog passes on as he can only stand on carpet and wouldn't be able to stand at all on the new flooring. I guess I'll just have to tell her that if she can't make herself at home then maybe that's where she should go. :lmao: I can already see how that would turn out and it wouldn't be pretty.

We've used Manchester, Hartford and Boston. Manchester is the easiest, Hartford and Boston are both larger so they are a bit more difficult. I think that you'll be fine wherever you end up. It's a trip to Disney, how bad can it be?

Hi there!! I love that slogan!!

I would love it to be ours but we live in my grandparents basement....2 bigger neat freaks you will never meet!! Although we have never been great housekeepers we are getting better and I would rather raise happy girls than make them feel like we were living in a museum!!

Hope your washing machine gets fixed quickly and cheaply!!

I'm caught up!! I watched Super Nanny. I thougt that she took an entirely different approach with a single mother than she did with 2 parent families. There was a lot less blame. I couldn't believe how out of control those kids were. Knowing the upbringing that she had I really couldn't believe it. For anyone wondering, I'm not sure what happened to her husband, but her mother recently told me that she is engaged again. They didn't mention a significant other on the show. The 2 sets of twins were not a result of infertility drugs. This show is in the headlines of all the local news stations. I certainly hope that their lives are much better now. She is the first woman that I have ever seen try to keep the Nanny. She didn't want her to leave.

Kate. Congrats to your dh and I love the new bags. That looks much more practical for my style of touring.

Dawn. I said a girl for Amy and was wrong. I think you'll have another boy, but I'm obviously not a good judge. :rotfl:

Colby was much better today. Just the cold. He did feel the need to take his temperature several times, I guess it's fun now. He even went out and played in the snow for a while. Now if he would just go to bed.

I'm sure I've missed someone. Sorry. I didn't take notes and was watching the new medical miracle show that is on.
