Good morning DDA'ers! The sun is shining :sunny: ! The snow is melting, and my neighbors daffodils are blooming! For the moment, it looks like Spring!

We had a fun time with the twins birthday last night. I made a Pooh Bear cake (and it actually turned out well!). I even was so proud of it, that I took pictures, which I will post later. I also made bear shaped biscuits and mini hamburgers for dinner. I made a potato salad that I added ketchup to and called it Piglet's Potato Salad. It went over really big with all the kids! They loved it all. DH was so impressed with me. I may have blown it, because I don't think he'll let me buy another birthday cake! Oops!!! Oh well, it was fun!

We are taking the twins to Build a Bear workshop this morning so they can make their bears. They were so excited when we told them about it last night! I'm taking the camera so hopefully I'll get some good pictures!

Tonight, DH and I are going out to dinner with his brother. BIL is having Gastric Bypass on Friday, so this is his last meal. He wants to have a good steak and then come back to our house for my famous pecan pie! I was flattered that he chose my pie for his last dessert. It's baking now, and smelling so wonderful! Good thing I'm also making a low carb pie for me!

I hope everyone else is having a wonderful day! Denise - my thoughts and prayers continue to be with you and your family at this hard time. Jennifer - I'm hoping that you do well on your exams. I'm sending lots of :wizard: for you! I'll check back in with you all, later!

Sounds like yesterday was a hit, looking forward to your pictures! I have ony made a cake once(for a birthday that is ;) ) & it turned out really well. We were having a pirate theme party. I seen the cake in a magazine & thought it would be perfect. I baked 2 chocolate cakes(rectangle) & layered the cakes with chocloate frosting & then used fudge frosting on top. To make it look like a treasure chest we used a piece of cardboard wrapped with foil & then put frosting on that. We used skewers to place it on the cake. For decoarations we used fruit roll-ups for the straps & key hole(dh did this), candy necklaces, ring pops, & chocolate coins in the gold foil(there was more but I can't remember right now) I hated to cut it up for the party lol

Enjoy your dinner tonight & did I read pecan pie :) This is my favorite, I can almost smell it baking :bitelip: I of course have never baked one, but my mil makes killer pecan pies for me. Someone have a slice for me! :Pinkbounc

Good morning DDA! I hope everyone has sun, and I hope your snow is melting because ours isn't and it's still cold. :rolleyes2

I'm off to take my nursing finals! I'm sooooo not prepared, but I should still pass the classes, which is all I care about at this point. I'm so ready to be done! I didn't study except for like an hour though last night because there's some garbage to sort through with my in-law's and this house purchase. I would think the details aren't really any of their business, but what do I know :confused3 (ooh, THIS is where this guy :rolleyes2 belongs!) So naturally, that's taking a toll on Kyle and I as well, as.... well, you know how men can be with their moms. We've discussed it enough, so I KNOW you know.

Oh, well. Everyone have a great day, please! :goodvibes

Good Luck!!!

By the time you read this you'll be done! :cool1:  :cool1:  :cool1:

I need some serious prayers and PD. My mom just called and my SIL's father committed suicide tonight. I am devestated. I had just hung up the phone with my brother when he found out. Please pray for Keyla and Ben. I will be going to Mississippi for the funeral whenever it is (maybe on Thursday). This is just so horrible. She is only 28 years old.

I am so very sorry to hear this. Prayers for you, your family, Keyla, Ben and everyone involved.

Can't wait to see pictures!!!

For Emma's birthday I ordered a photo cake with a photo of her and the Pooh statue at Downtown Disney and they also put Pooh toys on the cake. It came out great but DH couldn't eat the last of the cake that was Emma's face.

Oh Jennifer, Best of luck on your final, you'll do great! As far as in-laws go.... I've only been married 7 years this June and my MIL always has something to say about things. Don't worry, it will work out fine.

I am officially wait-listed for both BWV and BCV. There was nothing available at BCV but at BWV they had a studio avail for the 18th and 21st, just not the 19th and 20th. I had them do automatic booking if anything comes available. For you members, is this the best way to go about it? Please keep your fingers crossed for us!

Tammi, I am crossing my fingers for you. I have no clue what BWV or BCV is (I am a DL not WDW person, but hope to be a WDW and DL person some day) but good luck with waiting list.

We do not get the chance to do this very often, so I do enjoy the occaasional nights away by ourselves :goodvibes

DH gets mad at me b/c I have issues about leaving the girls. I know they will be fine, but I just have issues. I did however have a teenager come over for about two hours one night when DH and I went to his promotion congratulations event. That was a BIG thing for me.

Have a Fabulous time!!!!

Sounds like you have a wonderful time last night. I love the piglet's potatoe salad, I might need to use in the future. Have a great day!!!

I wish everyone a Great Disney Day!!!:goodvibes

I am off to google to find DH some PTOC pics, he wants to put them up in his office. He is slowly becoming a Disney freak also. (tee hee) He actually called me to ask me to get on the net and look for something “POTC pirate: like” for his area.

WOW! I have special permission to DIS and google this morning.:lmao:

Does this mean I don’t have to clean the house today?:confused3 He did call and ask me to find something. ::yes::

Yeah, I’ll take it as “he should come first” so I can play on the net. (tee hee)
Fun will be had by me and google.:rotfl:

Clare - I  your wedding announcement. So beautiful. Also saw that you just finished the Time Traveler's Wife - wasn't that an excellent read?! One of my all-time favorites!

I've got to go, but will be back later - I don't want to get behind again!

I was just thinking about you yesterday and wondering where you were.

Time travellers wife is a GREAT book - I think I may read it again in a few years... it had be hooked completely :)

Glad you liked the card - funny story behind that now - I ordered 35 copies yesterday morning and today got home from work to find a very thin envelope on the mat... thought uh-oh did I write 3 not 35... nope they sent me someone else's photos! Just two, a cake and a family snap... that poor guy got 35 copies of our thank you card!! Called the company to ask them to resend but he called first so they've already dispatched the right envelope to me - but they also gave me 20 free print credits for the inconvenience :)

And I really like the name Noah also!

You did indeed read pecan pie. It's my most favorite pie to make because it's so simple! I got the recipe from my good friend, and it is to die for! She claims that her BIL married into the family simply to be able to have this pie. It is REALLY good! I won't have a slice for you, but I'll talk someone into it! If you want the recipe, let me know. I'm happy to share.

When one life enters, another exits.

This is not my style, but you all should know why I'm not on for the rest of the week. Family friends (daughter is in Matt's class) Rusty died last night. He was working on the treadmill and had a massive heart attack. 47. In their home. Leaves a wife and three small children - all home, all witnessed their father's death. Pray for the survivors. They need it.
