Hiya guys - Thanks for answering Ellen - the wind was really bad last night wasn't it?? Felt like Kansas!! Our neighbors lost some shingles sometime last night - but we didn't notice until like 4 this afternoon. Most of the rest of the neighbors did ok. Barely an inch of snow - looks like we dodged the bullet.

Heading out to dinner - too bad it isn't Chick A Lick!!!

Princesses on Ice was great!! Alyssa wore her Cinderella dress and "glass slippers." The only mistake we made was driving into DC instead of taking the metro, and having to park in an underground parking garage. TRAFFIC! Afterwards we drove around DC a bit. Nicholas has been learning about the president and the White House in school, since it's President's Day weekend, so we drove him by the White House and the Washington Monument. He got a kick out of that. I think we are going to have to go back there on a warm weekend and show him the sights.

Hi everyone! I finally got my computer back yesterday. Hooked it back up, reinstalled my DSL and stayed up until 2:30 a.m. catching up on this thread. I have been off the thread for almost a month and no one seems to have missed me (can't find a sad face). I was sick for two of those weeks and missed two whole weeks' pay. Had flu and then bronchitis. What a bummer! I'm feeling fine now, and hopefully am back to normal. It seems that almost all of you have had some sort of bug. This has really been a bad winter healthwise. I'd like to say something to each of you individually, but there has just been too much going on here, so: to all who are sick, get better. To all going on trips or just back . To all those going through one of life's many foibles .

We also had frigid cold temps and very high winds. Most of the towns around us lost power for several hours (some longer). We were lucky and never lost power. I see a neighbor had part of their metal roofing blown off. Those poor souls were on a two story roof in gusty winds trying to nail a tarp to the missing section. They were up there for at least 2 hours. We had no damage and again only a dusting of snow. We suspect that our sugar lines will have sustained damage from falling limbs and trees. We are planning on tapping next week so it could be a tough job . I hope that it warms up before I have to spend a weekend trapsing through the woods carring a drill and hammer.

I'm so jealous! I drove through Rochester on the Thruway today on my way to the Buffalo area, and I was thinking of Marti and Paul (and Matt).

It sure was windy in much of NY yesterday, though. We lost the top of a tree in our backyard. I think that the Syracuse area had it about the worst wind-wise, though.

It was great talking to you Denise!!! and no matter what Amy said - no one had said a word about your accent all night!!!! Amy swears someone did - but clearly pregnancy brain has taken control!!! But I will have to say I was surprised to hear you beautiful southern accent (or dialect as Amy corrected me!!) I am not sure why it never occured to me that you would have a southern accent - as I told everyone - you don't type with one!!!!

We had a great time - Marti, Paul & Matthew are wonderful!!!!! They "surprised" me by coming to game night - she and Amy cooked it up and they showed up to game night shortly after Amy, Kevin & Alyssa

I say "surprised" because - well - the two of them STINK at keeping secrets!!! Amy had told me she had a GREAT surprise for me and that I should make Dole Whips for game night b/c she has been craving them - that was all the hints I needed!!! and even if I wasn't totally surprised - it was still one of the best surprises EVER!!!!!

We are all spending the day together tomorrow - I am so excited!! and very lucky to get to spend time with all of them!!!!

We never got Paul in the Mrs. Potts costume but I do have a picture of him modeling my disney bag that I designed and made this week - I am too tired to post it now - but it will be worth the wait!!!!!

It sounds like you all are having/had a wonderful time. How far away from you do Paul & Marti live? I don't know where Rochester is in relation to Cincy. Did you make dole whips? How do they taste like Disney's? I think I need to share my phone number with someone.......

With the wind and pitstops, it took Marti, Paul, and Matt 10 hours to get here! I would've PMed people "on the sly," but I was so afraid that our surprise was going to cancelled due to bad weather conditions! As soon as they got to town, I directed them to the nearest Chick-fil-a! Then Marti came to our house to "pretend" she was still in NY.

We knew Kate was on to us. I feel very sorry for Steve. Kate reads between every line...there's no pulling the wool over her eyes! I didn't try the homemade Dole Whip, but Marti can give you a full report when she has computer access again.

We definitely would've called more people (Kate has free long distance on her cell) if we had known more phone numbers! Who knows what things I would have "made up" to tell you!

We're meeting at the Disney Store at noon, so I'm sure either Kate or I will give you an update later. Maybe Kevin will post some of our pictures during Alyssa's nap too.

Sounds like Games Night went down a storm

I've just posted this message on the UK trip board but wondered if you guys might know the answer:

On our trip last year we stayed at the AKL and as part of our honeymoon received two 7-day MYW tickets. We weren't aware we'd get them so had already bought hopper passes in the UK. We did however go to Epcot guest services on the last day and add the non expiry option to the MYW passes (they were never used to access the parks so all 7 days are intact)

So we're planning to go this year as we already have the disney tix it means we can afford to make the trip.

My question is though... can we still use them? As they are on old keys. Do we need to go to guest services and swap them for normal looking passes or just use them like passes at the gate?

Hope someone can help - I don't want to book the flights until I know for sure we can use these passes.

Hi Clare! They have those passes stored in cyberspace. Just present the old key cards at your hotel or at Guest Services at any park and the computer will "read them" and put them on your new key card, or if you are staying offsite, they will give you paper passes.
