Not on the Millenniums. Because I am looking at a higher cost per pin I want them to NOT be duplicates. Obviously we will trade any doubles that we get, but if DH's goal is to have all 102 pins I would rather start off buying lots of all pins he doesn't have yet. Unfortunately I am winning a couple of auctions right now that do have duplicates. It's OK though because they have almost another whole day before they close. Somebody will outbid me. I have been losing auctions in the last 6 seconds, so no need to worry when there is a whole day left!

Are these the ones that came out every week at the Disney Store for Walt's 100th birthday? If so I have quite a few of those. But that was 2001. I even got Mary K going to the Disney Store on Saturday mornings looking for them. We even stopped at the mall in FL before we checked into the YC for our trip in Dec 2001. OR....is this another set for you to start looking at?:lmao:

I *think* those are "100 Years of Dreams" pins, which are different. We came home with about 4 of those and when we looked on PinPics we realized they were a different series. There is also a series called "Magical Musical Moments" and we came home with several of those, too.

I finished Joe's book for his birthday trip. I am going to use this as an autograph book. Here's a link to it:

http://marketplace.kodakgallery.com/bernadette12419252105

Unfortunately in this view you can't see the page spreads next to other-just one page at a time so you don't really get the full effect. Part of the photo on page 1 will show through a hole in the cover of the book. Page 2 is blank, page 3 is a full bleed on the page-no borders. I am hoping that fireworks photo will sort of set the "celebratory" tone to the book. Then we start with the pages for the characters to sign. I had a lot of great character photos and had a hard time choosing which photos to use. I ended up doing 2 pages of 9 little photos (page 18 & 20) and left pages 19 & 21 for characters to sign. I'm hoping Joe will realize that we don't have to find them all. Then I left 2 pages blank at the end for any extras.

I think I'll order it this weekend. Can't wait to see it!

It looks great. Here are some coupon codes that you can use for the book. Some expire soon.

Bernadette - That looks great!! I know Joe will love it!:thumbsup2

Thanks! It was kind of fun to do. I think I may do an "around the world" at Epcot one for Lizzy after our November trip. You know despite the 100's of photos I take everyday at Disney I do NOT have a photo of the kids from each country. I told her I want to take a photo of her in each country with say holding the little flags, with the "major" icon/fountain, and maybe with a funny hat or something from the store. I think it could be lots of fun but definately something that would be easier to do with 1 8 year old than with an 8, 6 and 4 year old.

That would be cool! Maybe we'll spend enough time at Epcot in December to get a photo of DS with all the different Santas. We got a photo of him with the Chinese Monkey King last year that turned out really nice.

Thanks! I have one "BIG25" that gives 25% off $25. So with shipping the book will be about $30. I think that is about what I pay on toner for the autograph cards I made and this will be so much easier to handle in the parks. I am thinking of giving it to him on the plane but I don't know if I can wait that long.

I hope the sharpie won't run on the page. The Kodak site does show using the book as a guest book for a party. I guess I should look what pen they show there. I could use a ballpoint pen but I think a sharpie would look better. I think I'll write our name/address on the back page just in case we loose it. I guess I could try it out on that page.

Have you seen all the "100 Years of Dreams" pins? I've got a pretty cool one that is some sort of locket type thing-it's been a while since I've looked at it.:rotfl:

That was my biggest disappointment in last December's trip. I really wanted to see all the Santas and we only saw USA-who was awesome as was Mrs Claus and the Monkey King.

Would you need a dSLR?:rotfl:

I'm home again. Got here late last night. Found out about 2pm yesterday that I'm laid off on Monday morning. I don't know how much you guys follow the news but there is going to be a government shutdown on Monday if the governor and legislature doesn't come up with a budget for next year. Chuck & I will be fine if I'm laid off for a while but I'm really worried about the state.

:scared1: thats scary. Hope they figure something out fast.:wizard:

I've been reading along when I get a few minutes. Things are still pretty crazy here. I did have 2 pretty good meetings on Friday so I'm feeling a bit less stressed about the budget stuff. I will probably go in the office for a few hours tomorrow just to keep ahead of things.

:wizard: and :grouphug: for all. Not sure how much I can actually remember.

Jen  nice to see you here again.

Happy Birthday to Nick!

Jennifer-Happy Anniversary!

Anne Marie-congrats on the new job!

Tammi-glad you've been able to rearrange your Dec schedule. Hope things work out so that yourBob doesn't have to leave early!:wizard:

Elizabeth-glad things are working out better than expected for DH. Sounds like he should still look for a new. I almost made it to the PO today. I got there at 12:01. Now that your CD and Halley's package are all set to go I can send DH to the PO on Monday. :wizard: Hope DS can improve his math and get his brochure done.:wizard:

Deb-loved your Mickey lamp!

Kelli-Stephanie is beautiful and your gift was awesome!

Elin-glad to hear the good news on Kathrin & MIL. The cover was great! Have fun tonight!

Jo-glad to hear DS is having a good year and you are enjoying your new job.

Thanks Bernadette

I haven't seen all the "100 Year" pins. I haven't even seen all the Millennium pins enough times to recognize them on a lanyard, which is how we ended up with pieces from 3 different series!:rotfl:

We never did get to see "regular" Santa & Mrs. Claus last year. DS has very little patience for character lines. Maybe I will send DH to stand in the character line with DS while I stand in the pin line at MVMCP this year.

Nope. I'm not thinking any of this will require a dSLR. Thank you for asking.;)

Well, off you go then!:rotfl2: Of course they probably don't have anything on clearance, so that would defeat the purpose of going.

I got the program loaded, and now we are playing around with inserting graphics. I am always just amazed when I can actually move a graphic from a web page to anywhere else.:rotfl:

Bernadette - The post office is a tricky place! I have a box that needs to go to Tammi on my table, but since ExMomboss postponed lunch I never went out today! DH is feeling OK about his job right now, so I am going to leave him alone. There is sort of a "checklist" that they have to work through if they want to be considered for promotion and this specialist slot will fulfill some of the checklist for him. He wold like to be a district supervisor one day instead of running a route for the next 25 years. (Although there is a guy whose route is ONE STORE. He's an old guy with one Sam's. He works maybe 25 hours a week and brings in a whomping paycheck. I told DH that his long term goal is to be that guy.:rotfl2: )

So 40 of my pins showed up today! They look great! Perfect to trade! I am pretty sure the 27 will be here Monday since I know he printed off the label, and I noticed I have feedback from the 3rd seller so we're going to say she has already or will shortly ship those pins.:)

glad your pins got there.
I will give them a few months before I stop in to see if they have any clearance stuff. Probably Jan. for the winter clearance.

LHS made it into the finals tonight....just made Cassidy a quick supper and we are eating a quick one before going back....love having the hamburger and hot dogs on hand saves us money.

Got some great pics which I promise I will download as soon as I get home.

Go Cassidy:cheer2: Good luck

So i have the house to myself and im sitting here watching Ladder 49LOVE this movie, but it really gets me crying...so here i am
haha

I'm so sorry to hear this Vicki. I hope the governor and the state can come up with a budget that doesn't care too much of a hardship for the people of Michigan.

Karen - congrats on the job!

Ramiro - Great grades! Congrats!

Bernadette - I think the book looks great.

So I spent all day at a craft fair thinking I was going to get my parents' their Christmas gift. When we were at the same craft fair in the spring I saw these adorable lighthouses made out of overturned terra cotta pots stacked 3 high with a solar light on the top. They were painted with all different sorts of scenery. After much thinking I decided that one would look nice in my parents' garden area. However, the vendor wasn't at the craft fair this time!!! Now I have to rethink my whole Christmas shopping ideas. There is another craft fair in 2 weeks around here so maybe she will show up there.

Here's a description I found of the locket pin:
This is #77 of the 100 Years of Dreams pin series from the Disney Store. The hinged silver heart locket pin with "Walt Disney" on the front opens to reveal a lenticular picture of Walt Disney as baby that changes to a picture as an adult. The locket has a very small magnet to keep it closed. Opposite to the pictures are the engraved signature / autograph of "Walt Disney" with "Dec. 5, 1901" beneath.

We saw Santa & Mrs with very little wait at night. I just looked at the date stamp on my photos and it says 8:30pm but I think it was really 7:30 as I know we didn't stay for Illuminations and I have other Epcot photos time stamped 9:30. I had either found a schedule for Santa or asked and we waited a few minutes for him to come out. There was 1 family in front of us. I think there was only 1 family behind us and I was still getting my stuffed pulled together when they left so Santa & Mrs started talking to Joe again for some time before another family came by. It was definately a highlight of the trip.

:thumbsup2
