I'm home again. Got here late last night. Found out about 2pm yesterday that I'm laid off on Monday morning. I don't know how much you guys follow the news but there is going to be a government shutdown on Monday if the governor and legislature doesn't come up with a budget for next year. Chuck & I will be fine if I'm laid off for a while but I'm really worried about the state.

:scared1: Hope the state of MI figures things out quickly. :wizard:

I bet you'll be ready for your trip!!!!

I've been reading along when I get a few minutes. Things are still pretty crazy here. I did have 2 pretty good meetings on Friday so I'm feeling a bit less stressed about the budget stuff. I will probably go in the office for a few hours tomorrow just to keep ahead of things.

:wizard: and :grouphug: for all. Not sure how much I can actually remember.

Jen  nice to see you here again.

Happy Birthday to Nick!

Jennifer-Happy Anniversary!

Anne Marie-congrats on the new job!

Tammi-glad you've been able to rearrange your Dec schedule. Hope things work out so that yourBob doesn't have to leave early!:wizard:

Elizabeth-glad things are working out better than expected for DH. Sounds like he should still look for a new. I almost made it to the PO today. I got there at 12:01. Now that your CD and Halley's package are all set to go I can send DH to the PO on Monday. :wizard: Hope DS can improve his math and get his brochure done.:wizard:

Deb-loved your Mickey lamp!

Kelli-Stephanie is beautiful and your gift was awesome!

Elin-glad to hear the good news on Kathrin & MIL. The cover was great! Have fun tonight!

Jo-glad to hear DS is having a good year and you are enjoying your new job.

Elizabeth they opened a new Dillards near me on wed.

Well, off you go then!:rotfl2: Of course they probably don't have anything on clearance, so that would defeat the purpose of going.

Becky and Theresa you rock. Glad to hear their is a way to do the tri fold with out buying expensive software.

I got the program loaded, and now we are playing around with inserting graphics. I am always just amazed when I can actually move a graphic from a web page to anywhere else.:rotfl:

well i have good news and i have bad news

BAD NEWS: the night attendant that i have had for 3 weeks is leaving me in a week and i have just transfered to the program where i hire nad fire attendants and i am in charge of finding my own attendants. why does stuff like this happen to me.

GOOD NEWS: I GOT A JOB and i found a halloween costume that actually fits and dont have to have mom alter it:cool1: :yay: :dance3:

I am sorry your attendant is leaving! Interviewing and screening attendants sounds like it will NOT be fun!:scared:
Congrats on the job! I hope you enjoy it!
Your costume is cute!

Oh, my! I hope they get things sorted out quickly!:scared1: I can't imagine them letting it drag out.:wizard:

Bernadette - The post office is a tricky place! I have a box that needs to go to Tammi on my table, but since ExMomboss postponed lunch I never went out today! DH is feeling OK about his job right now, so I am going to leave him alone. There is sort of a "checklist" that they have to work through if they want to be considered for promotion and this specialist slot will fulfill some of the checklist for him. He wold like to be a district supervisor one day instead of running a route for the next 25 years. (Although there is a guy whose route is ONE STORE. He's an old guy with one Sam's. He works maybe 25 hours a week and brings in a whomping paycheck. I told DH that his long term goal is to be that guy.:rotfl2: )

So 40 of my pins showed up today! They look great! Perfect to trade! I am pretty sure the 27 will be here Monday since I know he printed off the label, and I noticed I have feedback from the 3rd seller so we're going to say she has already or will shortly ship those pins.:)

Evening everyone!

Karen :woohoo: on getting the job. Sorry to hear about your attendant.

Elizabeth hope you can get things straightened out with the Dr's Monday :wizard:

Jo tell Ramiro WTG! Wish I could say the same for Garrett & Riley

Jen glad to hear you had fun last night!

Vicki hope you are not laid off to long :wizard: Our state went through this last month. I was worried Gary would not be working. Thankfully they came up with a budget. Nothing like worrying everyone :sad2: Maybe now you can concentrate on the trip that will be here in 18 days :cool1:

Oh, my! I hope they get things sorted out quickly!:scared1: I can't imagine them letting it drag out.:wizard:

The governor & the legislature are basically not coming to terms. The governor has warned for months that she would not sign a month long extension (where you can keep the government going without an official budget in place). Well, they called her bluff and she was NOT bluffing. So unfortunately, they have all let it drag out intentionally.

Yikes!! Those usually don't last long but any down time for a state is a bad thing.

But on the good side you can catch up here!!:goodvibes :lmao:

Jo-glad to see you...Yeah's to Ramiro. Glad you love the job!!

Karen-sorry about the attendant but yeah on the job and costume!!!

Sounds like a great day Deb!!

LHS made it into the finals tonight....just made Cassidy a quick supper and we are eating a quick one before going back....love having the hamburger and hot dogs on hand saves us money.

Got some great pics which I promise I will download as soon as I get home.

Thanks for the info Becky. We just have Microsoft Works on our computers. Actually I haven't had trouble using the word processer or spreadsheet programs, but it is nice to know that there are other options out there.

Well I haven't had a problem with it. My laptop, new as of April, only came with a trial of Office. It came with Notepad, which doesn't get you far. No Works or Word except in the trial, which only lasted like a month. I think Elizabeth had the same issue. At least that is how it sounds to me. Hence the need for an Office type program, without paying the hundred some dollars Microsoft charges. If it would have came with the laptop I would gladly use it. But it didn't.

Glad to hear you got the program loaded. Hope his project goes well. If you need help let me know.

Vicki- Hope you get the job situation sorted out soon.:wizard:  Hope the state of MI figures things out soon.

Jo- Glad to hear Ramiro is figuring out, it pays to get things finished.

Happy Birthday Nick, Jo, Terry, and anyone else I missed

Karen- Congrats on the job. Good luck finding a new attendant

Theresa- Any word on the ornament exchange??

I helped out at the Community Fall Fest today. It was pretty nice. The local police, fire and ambulances are there. They have free food and activities for the kids.

I have gotta work on unpacking and cleaning. It is getting to be unliveable.

Jo - Happy Birthday!:dance3: I am glad the new job is going well! Yay for Ramiro! DS is slacking BIG TIME and it's making me crazy!:upsidedow

Vicki - Well, hopefully now that everyone sees how serious the situation is they will pull it together!

Janet - Thanks! Stupid Dr's office.

Jen- I'm in and out. :)

Looking at some auctions on EvilBay. DH wants those Millennium pins from 1999/2000 so I am looking at some lots of them. But he says he just wants to look for them in the parks.:headache: I bought him a 10-pin lot that hasn't arrived yet. I guess if he doesn't want them I can trade them! I am looking to see if any of the other lots are ALL pins we don't have. Seems silly to buy a 10-pin lot where 3 are duplicates.

She is washer and dryer hunting so I had to look up prices and reviews for her. Do any of you own the LG FrontLoad steamwasher? That is what she is leaning towards. It looks really nice.
Well...I think I'm in the market for a new washer. We have a front loading Maytag Neptune that we purchased just before Lizzy was born. According to all the very negative reviews I've read on the Neptune I think we've had ours longer than most and we thankfully have not had any repairs made to it. BUT....it's been making strange noises lately and today it was leaking something that stained my clothes. I am very glad it didn't do it to the light clothes-just a few towels and PJ's but I still have one more load in the dryer. I have noticed that our colored towels have been smelling musty and I just read a few complaints on the internet about this problem on the Neptune. I like the idea of the steam on the LG. We have had very good service from a local appliance store but they only sell Maytags. I guess we'll be shopping this week!!!!!!

:woohoo: Congrats!!! Looking forward to photos!

Don't you want to be buying all duplicates so you can trade them?:confused3

Not on the Millenniums. Because I am looking at a higher cost per pin I want them to NOT be duplicates. Obviously we will trade any doubles that we get, but if DH's goal is to have all 102 pins I would rather start off buying lots of all pins he doesn't have yet. Unfortunately I am winning a couple of auctions right now that do have duplicates. It's OK though because they have almost another whole day before they close. Somebody will outbid me. I have been losing auctions in the last 6 seconds, so no need to worry when there is a whole day left!

I finished Joe's book for his birthday trip. I am going to use this as an autograph book. Here's a link to it:

http://marketplace.kodakgallery.com/bernadette12419252105

Unfortunately in this view you can't see the page spreads next to other-just one page at a time so you don't really get the full effect. Part of the photo on page 1 will show through a hole in the cover of the book. Page 2 is blank, page 3 is a full bleed on the page-no borders. I am hoping that fireworks photo will sort of set the "celebratory" tone to the book. Then we start with the pages for the characters to sign. I had a lot of great character photos and had a hard time choosing which photos to use. I ended up doing 2 pages of 9 little photos (page 18 & 20) and left pages 19 & 21 for characters to sign. I'm hoping Joe will realize that we don't have to find them all. Then I left 2 pages blank at the end for any extras.

I think I'll order it this weekend. Can't wait to see it!
