NICK

Happy Birthday Nick!

Well, poopy. The Dr's office never returned the pharmacy's call so now I don't have a prescription. And the Dr's office is really far so I am NOT driving up there twice. I am going to cancel my appt. for Monday and tell them I will drive up there AFTER I have the med! I really don't like the Dr's office. I keep saying I am going to switch to a closer one. I REALLLLLLY need to do that. Their billing practices are very suspicious. I think they overbill and double bill and all sorts of things. I pay a TON of money OOP to them.

I tried on the shorts from Dillard's. 5 out of the 6 pairs fit fine. They are all the same size, but we know how that goes. So I'll take the tight ones back later today.

Still haven't heard from ExMomboss about where we are going for lunch. But I need to go get in the shower no matter where we are going!

Look! Post 8888!!

The necklace is beautiful, Theresa! How about a picture of your ring???

I'll take one today....it was such a late addition they didn't have a chance to put it up on the website.

DS failed a math test yesterday. I am REALLY not loving this "honors" math. I am not even sure he can pull a passing grade out of it for the marking period.:scared:
He also has to research one of the local universities and design an informational brochure. The brochure is due next Friday and it has to be tri-fold and include graphics. Our computer only has the option of half-fold, so he is going to have to type and print it at school. He said the library has been full all week and they haven't been able to go in there, so he may end up failing this project, too.:headache: I am having him write out his notecards this weekend and I printed off some material for him in case he doesn't have enough info to fill his brochure, but the actual brochure will have to be done at school. I am furious that our new computer only came with a "trial" of Word. I am not going to pay $150 for word processing software that we don't need. DS says he knows how to do it on Print Shop but we don't have that, either. Grrr.

:wizard: :wizard: that you can get the math situation straightened out.

As for the tri-fold brochure. You can use Open Office. It is free to download and is compatible with the Microsoft Suite. It has replacements for everything that Office includes. Best of all it is free. You can download it here. Click on get open office.org verision 2.3.

Once you have downloaded it. You want to use the Writer Program. Go into Format | Page | Click Landscape this changes your page to the Landscape format. To create columns, go to Format | Columns | Select the 3 columns picture for your 3 columns.

You can insert pictures and other information just like you would use Word. It does save documents in its own file format. But you can save them as a .Doc, .RTF, or whatever file extension you want to use if you want to pass it along to another user.

I use Open Office exclusively on my laptop, as it only came with a trial of Microsoft Office. I use it very often and have had no problems with it all. Best of all it is free.

If you have any questions or need help, let me know and I will see if I can help you.

This way he can complete the assignments at home and not have to do them at school.:thumbsup2

There was a dance last night but DS didn't want to go. There is a field trip next Wednesday evening to a band competition but if he goes he won't get his homework done. They are just going to watch, not compete. I am on the fence about having him go since he is crashing and burning in math.

You can get a trifold without actually trifolding....hope that makes sense.

on page setup do three columns...basically 3, 3 inch columns on the landscape feature....it should automatically give you the border you need.
I have a piece of poo for a printer and it works fine that way.

When you go to print....print one side...let it dry and print the other...it may take a couple of tries but it should work.

Good morning all! Hope your Saturday is looking up. We're getting ready to head to Downtown Disney for some Rainforest Cafe breakfast and a little shopping before heading to the airport. on getting a job. Where is your job, what will you be doing.

Sorry about the attendant thing. Good luck finding a new one.

Well just a pop-in to say Hi.
My new transfer is working out great.
I love the new property.
I'm back to working with my old Engineer.
Only thing is now she is my Supervisor.
We make a good team & we are good friends.
Only problem is the Engineer quit.
He said there were to many women working there.
No really that's what he said.
What the H*** he knew his boss would be a woman before they hired him.

Well I have great news!!
Ramiro got his 1st progress report.
2 A's & 4 B's. :woohoo:
No C D F.
I have to admit I'm a little mad at him.
He failed last year.
Why? Because he is lazy & doesn't do the work.
He scored 4 & 5's on his FCATS.
All A's in Summer School.
I'm hoping he stays on the right track.
He has really changed his attitude.
I hope he has learned his lesson.

Well Happy Everything to everybody.
Anyone in need of prayers & pixe dust.
Sending out a large dose your way.
You all take care.
Catch ya later.

i'm working for a dentist. he is starting another job on the side so i am helping him with that. he gets peoples names from some registry(i guess) and sends out letters and asking them if they are wanting to sell their house. if so they call an answering service and then the answering service emails my boss who called and their answers. I will then call the people back to get more info. as i start to understand the whole process he will eventually get me to do all the calling because he said that to actually buy the house we would be calling the person back like 20 times before we actually buy the house. once we buy the house we let c.e.o.s live there while they are here in Houston(which would be the short term stays) then we would sell the house.

Thanks for the info Becky. We just have Microsoft Works on our computers. Actually I haven't had trouble using the word processer or spreadsheet programs, but it is nice to know that there are other options out there.

What is your Halloween Costume?
Woo Hoo on the job. I'm glad you finally found something. It sounds like a unique opportunity. I haven't heard of any business like that :confused3

Happy Birthday Tomorrow!!!:dance3: party: :bday: party: :dance3:

This day has been fairly busy, though I haven't actually accomplished anything that I had wanted too.

I got up and help my DB set up the tent and tables for his Maple Roadside Stand. Then I made French Toast for Chris and the boys. Nick loves french toast so that was his birthday breakfast. I sat down to catch up here, but my DM showed up about then. She is washer and dryer hunting so I had to look up prices and reviews for her. Do any of you own the LG FrontLoad steamwasher? That is what she is leaning towards. It looks really nice. Then my Great Aunt and Uncle showed up at my Brother's to check out the Maple products. Nick had to show them the pictures that he took at the Car Show so I dried off the deck furniture and put the cushions on the chairs. Then I set up Chris's laptop for them out on the deck. It is a gorgeous day. I also went to pull out Nick's birthday presents and found an entire bag of winter clothes that I had bought him on Deep Clearance after Christmas last year. Amazingly everything fits now and there were 8 pairs of pants as well as sweaters and shirts. I wrapped all of his gifts and decided to have an impromptu party for lunch since everyone was around. Mom made grilled ham & cheese sandwiches and we had punch and pickles. Nothing fancy, but it was nice outside and Nick was happy. I had also made cupcakes this morning so We put candles in those. We had to light them in the house as the wind kept blowing them out outside. I used a reduced sugar white cake mix with diet rootbeer soda. They were very moist and yummy even without frosting :thumbsup2 (saved my diet). After the cupcakes Nick opened his presents. He was happy with everything. He really needed the clothes. My parents gave him a couple of outfits too. He got some money which made him really happy. We gave him some spygear and a couple of video games, the clothes and an electric blanket. Isn't clearance wonderful :woohoo:
After everyone left we put Colby down for a nap and Chris made it to the dump. We really need to work on the basement, but Nick would like to go bowling and I'd rather go soon as it will get busy later. I also need to run errands some time today.
