Momboss called and said I will probably be here until 9 PM. I was hoping tonight would be earlier than last night! I'm tired! And DH made this lovely parmesan chicken for dinner. The only thing here for dinner is instant oatmeal. My fault - I should have picked up some groceries today. Princess still eats little Gerber entrees and my bosses eat take-out a lot, so the food choices here are a little narrow.

I assume you are eating dinner with me now, Elizabeth! Isn't this a nasty time to eat???

Glynis-poor kiddos, hope it's a lesson learned and not repeated.

Elizabeth-sorry DH's job is turning sour. Poor princess.

Elin-I am also going to assume no news is good news.

It has been extremely slow on our thread today....hope everyone is doing okay.

Well, so much for my happy day. About an hour ago, my front door gets flung open, and Jacob's best friend comes in just screaming, tears rolling down his face. He immediately starts to rip off his shirt, screaming, "they're stinging me!" I got his shirt off, and 2 wasps fell off his back. I stomped on one, but the other flew up to the ceiling. I left it alone for the time being. I looked at Connor's back, and saw little red bumps all over it. I grabbed his hand and his shirt, and ran with him to his house. As I'm leaving the yard, I see Jacob and another friend running to the house. Connor was really starting to scream, so I just focused on him. Luckily, his dad was outside, and I turned him over to his dad, and ran back to my house. Jacob was running to meet me, just howling at the top of his lungs. He could feel something inside his shirt, too, so I grabbed it and ripped it off him, and saw another wasp on his back.

We got inside the house, and had to deal with the wasp on the ceiling. Once he was out of there, I turned my attention to Jacob. He had been bitten twice on his stomach, twice on an elbow, and once on his head. I gave him some ice, and then got some benedryl and tylenol into him. He's feeling a bit better now, but he looks pretty pathetic.

Connor's dad came over to see how Jacob was doing, and told me poor little Connor has 16 bites on his back, and 8 on his stomach. Poor sweetie!

I guess those boys learned their lesson and will not be hitting hollow logs with sticks anymore!

 that sounds HORRIBLE! I hope that both the boys are doing better now.

THANK YOU for keeping the posting down today... although I bet I just jinxed myself and there will be an 800 post run for the next milestone! :rotfl:

I am caught up and headed to bed. It has been a long week already!

Good night, DDA!

Well, that's good anyway!

How were your cruises?

Absolutely, positively fantastic. We had pretty decent weather, although it was thundering every night so the pool was closed and rained on and off at some of the islands, and in Florida. It rained and stormed a lot but typically did not last too long.

We got soaked at Key West and during our regatta at St. Maarteen, and trying to get into the Sanford airport on our way home. That is the one benefit to cruising, our days at sea were great weather because for the most part, you can avoid the crappy weather.

Jen-I thought of Alyssa, as I saw a full arch rainbow from end to end in St. Thomas. I think that was a first. As we could see both ends and the whole arch, but it wasn't very bright. I also saw an entire circle rainbow on my flight home.

My flight in was one of the smoothest flights I have ever been on. The return flight was bumpy at first, but very smooth and cloud free, after we left Florida which was rain all day. We could see so many buildings, theme parks, etc before we landed as it was so clear.

I was surprised how smoothly everything went. My Key West curse was broke, I finally made it there. We both had major allergy attacks in St. Thomas as it was very much in full bloom. Lots of others complained as well. I got sunscreen in my eye at Castaway Cay the last day and could hardly see the entire day.

I wiped out on the pool deck the one night, totally landed on my one leg, hit my head twisted both legs. Totally not fun. One of the doctors was off duty and I happened to talk to him after I went in the hot tub right after I fell. He told me to come in at 9am, if I needed anything. I was seriously afraid I was not going to be able to get out of bed in the morning. Luckily I was spared any serious injury. I was a bit sore and had broken blood vessels all up and down my left leg, but was pretty good to go.

I ate tons and tons of food and took lots and lots of pictures. The entertainment was great. I had to get off the ship in between cruises for about an hour and a half. But I could leave my stuff in the room as it was staying the same.

I met loads of fantastic DISers. It was far too short and I need a vacation from my vacation. I gotta get to bed. I haven't slept much since I am back and don't want to get whatever everyone has at the office.

Good night all.:3dglasses

Well, I think I'm going to call it a night! I've got book club in a week, and I'm only a third of the way through the book. It's really good, though, so I'm looking forward to some reading time. If anyone's interested, it's "The Red Tent" by Anita Diamant.

Oh Glynis,

What a mess, hope the boys will be okay.

okay caught up. I leave work in a little over an hour. I will chat with you all tomorrow afternoon.

I just took my dinner out of the microwave. It's 9:46 PM. Definitely not my normal dinner hour!

I LOVED that book! It was one that I read because my boss at the time had it and said it was good. I never would have chosen it for myself but it was wonderful. I will say that I am not familiar with the Bible AT ALL, so for me the book stood on it's own. I hope you enjoy it!

Elizabeth,
sorry about your DH's job:wizard: that something better comes along.

Thanks. Unfortunately his sense of righteous indignation isn't quite as strong as mine, so I think he may just sit back and watch while it all comes crumbling down. It will take awhile before he gets angry enough to start interviewing with other places. I would have been e-mailing my resume as soon as I got home today, but that's the difference between DH & me.

okay caught up. I leave work in a little over an hour. I will chat with you all tomorrow afternoon.

I hope you have an easy shift!:wizard:

Good Evening DDA!

All the packing is done, except for our carry ons and some of our toiletries that will need to go in the big suitcases.

I think I have everything. I have gone over everything that I can think of, so if we forget something, we'll just have to either do without, or buy it there!

Elizabeth, sorry about your DH's workplace. I had fortunately started at the bakery within the first two years of it's opening, and I still am somewhat the low man on the totem pole. Once people work there, they just don't leave unless they die, or get fired! :goodvibes

Glynis, poor Jacob! I got bit once many, many times by a swarm of bees that had nested in our hay loft, and I swore I would never go up there again. We always referred to that barn as the "Bumble Bee Barn" from then on.

Becky, good to hear from you! I am glad that you had a good time on your cruise(s). Getting back to reality is not fun, and I am not looking forward to it once this vacation is over. See, I am already dreading returning, and I haven't even left yet!:sad2:

Lots of :grouphug: :wizard: to everyone that I missed!

Have a great night DDA!

I had to go into work last night, so I missed it & I stayed at work late tonight & missed it again! Oh well I will watch it online.

Did anyone watch Dancing with the Stars last night? I was impressed with most of them!

Ditto from me!

Elizabeth - I hope everything works out for your family! I'm sure it will in the long run. :grouphug:

Glynis - That's great news!!! Make sure you and Alan have a Date Night scheduled for just the two of you!!!

Owie! Hope the stings heal quickly & do not itch to badly :wizard:

Poor thing :wizard: that she does not have a swollen lip tomorrow!

Princess was having a drink of water before bed and she tripped and banged her lip on the cup lid. Her first bloodshed when I've been on duty.:sad2: I bet she will have a fat lip tomorrow. The inside of her top lip looks horrible - her tooth made a hole in it.:scared:

Deb I look absolutely horrible in a swimsuit! But I am bringing one anyway :rotfl:

So I lost a couple of lbs while I was sick. I'm using this as my incentive to stay on track and not regain it. I really want to get back to my lowest weight before our October trip as some of you might have to see me in a bathing suit, Yuck. Dieting just sucks and it isn't easy by any means. Those of you that have done so well impress me to no end. I bow to all of you.
