The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 29

I'm back from the mall! The Disney Store got a BUNCH of new pins. Some are single pins for $5.50, some are sets for $14.50. They got 12 of each thing. I bought 5 of the Snow White sets because there are 8 pins. They have a "Fab 5" set and a set of 3 princesses but the Snow White pins work out to under $2 per pin.

DH said our first set of EvilBay pins came today. 84 pins. I need to go ahead and close out my EBay order that is still open (40 pins) and start waiting for the Disney Store pins to go on sale. Since some of them are Christmas designs I could be waiting for awhile, but with 7 Disney Stores within reasonable distance I bet I will still be able to find some when they go to clearance. And I am not picky about WHICH pins they are.

Elin thankfully that does not look like what I have. My spots are not bunched together, I am now just getting one here, one there, ect.

Deb glad to hear Hunter is feeling better & was able to make it to school today. Good luck with Nick's home work!

Just popping to say "hi" . . . life is so absolutely hectic these days that I'm not sure which way is up anymore! My DD has joined a competitive dance troupe this year, and her many hours of practice (and driving her to practice) has really taken up a huge amount of my free time. I just love to watch her dance, though, so it is a labour of love!

I'm sorry I haven't been able to keep up with the many happenings of the members here. I hope everyone is doing well! Everyone was so kind to me when I first popped in, but I'm afraid it is unrealistic for me to think I will be able to keep up with this thread. I hope you don't mind if I stop in to say hello once in a while!

Just don't leave us forever!!! Pop in when you can, and know that we will love to hear from you whenever you can fit us in!!!

Hi Vicki! Are you home for a while now?

Actually I'm in Lansing. I'm staying at a Residence Inn this time. Wow. These are nice rooms. I get it at the state rate (which is all the state will reimburse). It has a kitchen, sofa, chair, small kitchen table w/ two chairs, desk, bed. Some of the "rooms" are actually two rooms - they actually have a separate bedroom from the rest. The one I got this time is all one room but that's fine with me. Much nicer staying some place that feels like an apartment rather than a hotel room. I think I'll be staying here on future trips as well.

I'm thinking about heading off to the Disney store after reading Elizabeth's info on the Disney pins. Actually, I think I'm going to sit right here and relax tonight. I do have some work to get done but I'm too tired to tackle it right now. I didn't get down here until 1:30am last night. I just couldn't force myself to leave any earlier last night. It is nice just sitting here in the room with the sun streaming in the window. I'm trying to get enough energy just to go out to my car to get the cookies that I bought yesterday. I'm in the first room inside the door of the Inn and my car is just out the door, so we are talking less than the distance across my entire house to get to the car! I'm being very lazy!!!!

Jennifer - the pics are great! I'm glad to see a photographer near the flagpole. (Secretly I'm hoping that one will be there for the Goofy statue picture! I'd hate to ask a stranger to take 16 cameras and attempt to take pics for us!) I LOVE the Stich photos with you and your sister!!!

ETA: I LOVE the closeup of you guys in your costumes too! #49 I think!

The Mother/Daughter Tea was lots of fun. Then we met DH, Joe & Emma at Grandma's to spend some time visiting SIL here from St Louis. She helped Lizzy start a knitted hat. Lizzy school makes them for the local women's/children's shelters.

I could have spent a few hours in the office today but didn't go. I guess I better get myself to bed so I can get in early.

Do they use the circular knitting loom? Katie has a set of those. She and her church group have been making them for one of the local hospitals. They love doing it, and it goes so quickly, they really see that what they are doing is important! They love going to the hospital to present them to the nurses.

My DH was looking over my shoulder for a few minutes as I was scrolling through the thread and agreed that dress #1 is fabulous!! Ok, well, not his words exactly, but you get what I mean!

Vicki - You are going to Disney NEXT MONTH! You must have pins to trade! Go get in the car, eat your cookies on the way to the mall, then relax when you get back. You can relax really well while you gaze at your pins!

Glynis how was your weekend?

We had a really fun time! Alan met us at my parent's house, and the kids wanted nothing to do with me after that. I had a restful couple of days. I got to see 3 wonderful plays, and visited with my parents. It was a rainy weekend, though. It started raining at about 8:00 Saturday morning, and didn't stop until Sunday morning around 3:00. I had to run to Walmart for some warmer clothes for all the kids. I really hadn't watched the weather, so I wasn't prepared. Made it back home late yesterday, and the kids and I picked everything ripe in our garden.

I've spent today juicing all the plums off our tree, and now I'm on batch number three of plum jelly. Next up, tomatoes. Not sure what I'm going to do with them. If there's enough, I'll do some tomato sauce or juice. I'll chope up the green peppers and freeze them for later use. Can I just tell you I'm exhausted???? I've still got about 5 batches worth of juice to make into jelly. It's going to be a long night!!! I guess I should decide if I'm going to make dinner, or just call for pizza. Hmmmmm......
