Bernadette - Choosing a resort is a pain. I thought I wanted to stay at the Contemporary, but Deb had a review on AllEars that made me kind of rethink it. I think the bathroom sinks would annoy me. And you mentioned that the transportation can be tricky, which drives me mad. I think we'll be sticking with AKL for the forseeable future.
Lizzy and DS wear the same size pants.:lmao: I just bought him 2 more pairs today at Gap Kids so he has a black pair for band and another navy pair for every day.
Have you ever considered the Poly?

Lizzy doesn't normally wear 10's so I surprised that these 2 jeans my sister handed down to me fit her-they may have been wrangler. She's generally in 8's. The girls slims are usually too slim in the hips so I have to get her ones with adjustable waists or the regulars are too big.

It sounds like a good day for the boys today! Jake's baseball team won both of their games -- 11-6 and 11-1, and his soccer game ended in a 4-4 tie.

Here's the soccer coach -- now imagine a british accent... he's not McSteamy or McDreamy but he's not bad for a soccer coach...

And here's Jake. Their shirts haven't come in yet, so they all wore red plain shirts. They played a team whose native language is Spanish...so I consider it a good day that they tied them.

:woohoo: Congrats to Jake! Nice pictures too!:thumbsup2

I'm gonna try and finish up day two before I head to bed,

When we left off we headed back to the resort, first we went for a swim in the bowling pin pool,

Then it was nap time, followed by dinner in the POP food court, after dinner it was back to the bus stop to head over to MGM.

TOT had no wait and Brandon said he wanted to give it a try so we headed off, he got really quiet in the Library, and while we were in line in the boiler room he told me that he was scared. I told him that if he really was scared we didn't have to ride, that we would leave instead, he thought about it for a minute and told me he thought he wanted to leave. So we took the alternate route out, he was leary of getting in the elevator to leave but I assured him this wasn't the scary one. Here he is in the boiler room, he does look a little concerned,

When we exited TOT it was time to get in line for Fantasmic, since we got there early we had time to kill, Brandon thought it would be fun to make silly faces for pictures, he was totally unaware that PawPaw was joining in the fun,

IMG_2431.jpg

Every trip I try and take pictures of Fantasmic and end up with a bunch of blurry pictures, this one was no exception,

IMG_2487.jpg

Fantasmic was a big hit, but I should have known Brandon was getting tired when he got really cranky, he didn't even make it out of the park before he crashed out.

And so ended Day two, Day three starts with LOEMH at the Magic Kingdom!

Hello, DDA!

I read on the TPAS thread that there will be a Captain Jack meet & greet during the MNSSHP's. I hope this is true :woohoo:

I have been reading about the HM refurb also & I can't wait to check it out :cool1:

Do you know how hard it is to type while a kitten is walking all over your keyboard :rotfl:

Janet - if they were doing a "meet and greet" with Capt. Jack last night, then we must have missed it. But I know we walked by the area they were using for these greets for the P&P, and there didn't appear to be anyone there. As the greet was indoors, I'm sure it would have been even more popular last night if they had been doing it! He was in the parade last night (when it finally stepped off after 11 p.m.)!

I won't give too many spoilers about HM for those of you that don't want to know, but I was pleased with the outcome. I do think people might be slightly overstating what a difference the refurbishment has made, but I do think the new staircase and new bride scenes are definitely a good addition. And my doom buggie had clear sound, which hasn't always been the case over the last couple of years! :thumbsup2

Just did---The oncologist there confirmed that there is nothing they can do that will cure this cancer. They are going to try a 'mild' round of chemo to see if that will slow the spreading of the cancer. They will try that for 3 weeks, and if it doesnt help, they are going to discuss if they should try a stronger chemo or just do nothing.

Its just starting to hit my grandmother that he will die from this--they just dont know when..The oncologist did say that it is stage 4 cancer. so now we just wait

    I hope the treatment does do something for his quality of life, Jen.

Just popping into say hi. I am up on deck 9 of the Magic by the quiet Cove pool. Watching people in the terminal, patiently waiting to board the Magic.

We had an awesome week on the ship, great food and weather. I did get to go parasailing and it was fantastic.

I had to get off the ship this morning, through customs, back to the terminal and back on the ship.

Sending prayers, :wizard: and hugs to all of you. Hope you have a great week.

Good to see you, Becky! Hope the next 'go round on the Magic was as great as the first one for you!

I've been thinking about options for our next family trip. I really didn't care for POR. I really wish they had prefered rooms there because I would pay for that. I don't like the risk of being in a remote room. Our next cheapest option would be two rooms at Pop but they won't guarantee connecting rooms so I'm thinking about a suite at ASMu but discounts on those are few. If I could get a AAA discount on a room at the Poly it would be $75 more than full rate at ASMu suite. I think it may be worth it. When we went for breakfast in August DH liked it a lot more than he remembered.:)

I really do like the Poly, too. We had dinner at Kona last night before the P&P, and I like the vibe there. Right now, I'm holding a reservation with a AAA discount for a few nights in May there. I do prefer it for warmer weather, so you can enjoy the beach and grounds more. :thumbsup2

I see that Chanon confirms, but I'm pretty sure that if the # of children outnumbers adults, then you have be guaranteed connecting rooms. I think Disney could be in for some :scared1: times if it were otherwise. Good luck with your decisions! (Don't forget the DVC option, too. Depending on the resort, you might be able to rent points for a villa cheaper than just one room at the Poly.)

I forgot to mention on our first day we were chosen as one of the POP families of the day and received a certificate, a magnetic picture frame and turndown service, it's always nice to get a little extra Pixie Dust.

That's really cool, Debbie! I've enjoyed your TR so far!

Just wanted to let ya all know, mom got the results from her polyps and they were benign. She just has to take extra calcium, zinc, and 1 other vitamin.

That is good news, Heidi!

Well, I think this quick trip definitely qualifies as my "need a do-over" trip. I definitely don't like being here when going to WDW is not the primary reason for the trip. Just my dad and Jonathan ended up going to the football game, but it still threw the schedule off for the entire day. My mom and I didn't get out the door for Epcot until 11 a.m., when I would already normally be thinking about an early lunch and going back to the resort for a rest/swim after being in the parks since opening.

It is so hot and humid, too. We did just a few things in Epcot (Soarin', Turtle Talk, the Nemo ride, some shopping, etc.), and then ate a fast lunch at Beaches & Cream, and then back up to the room to watch the game. (I hate to say it, but my Longhorns are not so good this year - we won by a hair, and looked absolutely terrible!) I slept through a lot of the game, and then we ended up having a cancel our already-late dinner reservations at the Yachtsman Steakhouse (which I was really looking forward to), since it took Jonathan and my dad over 2 hours to get back to the YC from the game. :headache: So we ended up just ordering room service, and everyone else watched football games while I surfed the DIS (all the while, just wanting to scream and head out to the parks on my own!). And thunder is now rumbling in the distance, and they're predicting more rain tomorrow. :sad2:

And as everyone heads off to bed, no one will commit to what they want to do tomorrow. Everyone's attitude seems to be "well, I don't really need to do that this trip; we'll be back in Dec., etc.". I am by no means what I would consider a die-hard park commando these days, but taking this approach to Disney is almost putting me over the edge! I may have to head out of here on my own tomorrow, as I think the consensus was that we would just play the morning by ear. I tried to push for being at the AK for opening to ride Everest, the safari, and see the new Nemo musical (2 of those things my parents haven't experienced yet), but no one was biting. Jonathan knows I'm getting frustrated, but I think he sees it as I'm coming back next month so I can't really get mad about it. :confused3

All I know is that I will be thrilled to be with a bunch of Disney die-hards in a few weeks - this casual approach is driving me nuts! I feel like a clueless tourist, wandering aimlessly! :rotfl: :headache: ;)

I think I'm going to bed, so if I'm the only one up early, so be it. I'll try to check in when we get home tomorrow. :guilty: Have great Sundays!

Jen, much better.

I do like the revised one better!:)

Marci - The coach is a cutie. Nobody I have seen before, but a cutie. Glad Jake had a good Saturday!:thumbsup2

Lindsay - I know how you feel! Bad weather combined with people who can't get out the door would make me crazy! I hope you have fun tomorrow!:wizard:

Arabella woke me up and now I can't go back to sleep.:rolleyes1

Lindsay sorry this trip has not been such a good one. I hope today you can get out & enjoy the parks before returning home. Bummer about Captain Jack, I will have to read reports from the next party & see if he was out.

Next months trip will be a whole different story for you, we are all going to have so much! We won't want it to end :thumbsup2

Elizabeth, Mia has been waking me up every night. She thinks it is play time

Good morning :)

We are almost at the 30 day mark :dance3:

That is excellent news, Heidi!

Marci - sounds like a great day of soccer at your house, and a nice view to go along with it!

Jennifer - you have a lot on your list of things to do. Take it easy!

Jen - I think they did a great job on the painting. Much more realistic looking now.

And so ended Day two, Day three starts with LOEMH at the Magic Kingdom!

I loved the face-making pictures, Debbie! :goodvibes And I am very much looking forward to your report on the LOEMH since we plan to do that with my DNephew next month. It has been decades since I took a little one to WDW! And I think Brandon and Mitchel are about the same age.

Hi, Lindsay! Hope your day is better today, since I see it was not better yesterday!! I cannot wait to see the changes at "our" HM. I think some of them are similar to what we saw at the HM in DL this summer.

And I agree about renting DVC points for a 1 bedroom villa. WE often find it to be much cheaper than a AAA discount and usually about the same as an AP discount for a deluxe resort.

With that in mind, I have a friend who is a DVC owner who is not using all her points and is hoping to rent them. They are good through May, 2008. This is the friend we always rent from. PM me if anyone is interested.

Good morning, DDA!

Elizabeth, Mia has been waking me up every night. She thinks it is play time

That sounds familiar!

Jennifer - Sounds like you are almost ready! Virginia will be here before you know it!:goodvibes

I tried all day yesterday to get on the Chase website to see if my WDW credits have gone through, and I never could get it to work. (It did work earlier in the week which is how I know WDW split that one refund in 2 parts.) There is a thread on the Budget Board about all the problems people have had with Chase. The payment isn't due for another 3 weeks, but I wanted to make a payment today just because I have heard so many weird things about the way they handle accounts. This morning the site says it is down for scheduled maintenance.

I have had trouble with the Chase site all week too. I was finally able to order my Disney Reward Card and make my payment yesterday.
