Tammi, sorry you've been so busy. I know the feeling. How did your meeting with Nicholas' teacher go on Thur?
It's not really so bad. It's busy, but it's stuff that I enjoy.

Open House went well. Mrs. J. had a bunch of questions that each child had already answered. Things like favorite this, favorite that, what do you want to be when you grow up. Then each parent had to answer the same questions about your child, to see how well you knew them. I got 4 right. But in my defense, things like best friend change with the wind.

I tried to wait for you after we got inside but you seemed to have disappeared. I was going to officially introduce you to myBob. How did it go with Shane?

Thanks for all the compliments on the TR & photos! I hope to work on it between laundry today. I've got 2 loads of winter stuff left over from last week and this weeks stuff.

We have a contractor coming today that will be doing our roof. Our porch roof over the front door is rotting so we really need to take care of that. He's going to put a couple of gutters up on the roof over the porch to make sure we don't have the same problem again. We are also going to do the rest of the roof. It wasn't as much as I had feared. We're also getting a new screen door on the front door. I've hated that thing since we moved in 23 years ago. It was old then. We're getting one with a self storing screen. We had another bid that nearly the same and this guy put an addition on my MIL's house so we feel good about him.

Today is soccer too so lots of running around.

It's our 23rd anniversary and we aren't sure if we'll go out or just get take out-probably take out after all those soccer games.

Tomorrow is the mother/daughter girl scout tea for Lizzy & I and my SIL is here from St Louis.

We love that fountain too, Bernadette! Here is a photo I took during the F&W Festival last year...

I think you are doing a fine job on the TR without notes!!
WOW!!! Beautiful! I will have to find my way over there at night in November.

Garrett has a dentist appointment at 7:30 this morning, I need to make a stop at the vets afterwards & then head off to work. Riley has a game at 3 this afternoon. Who said weekends were relaxing lol

Oh well, nothing going on tonight so far. Tomorrow is Gary's birthday. Still waiting on him to decide if he wants to go out for dinner or have me cook him something. I'm sure you all can guess which one I hope he decides on ;)
Sounds like a busy weekend! Happy Birthday to Gary!:bday:

Yes it did thanks. And we got the house emptyed (John told the sellers, what ever they didn't want we would get rid of) and cleaned. Today is putting things away while John gets the big items from the old place.
:wizard: Good luck with the move!

I was on the phone yesterday and the boys got into a huge fight. Of course. Because I was on the phone. ;) I hear a bunch of loud banging and then a crash. Shane and his friend had locked Owen out of his room and Owen kicked the door so hard and so many times that a snow globe fell off of Shane's shelf in his room and crashed into a gazillion pieces. Owen got a spanking and sent to his room. Then he peed in his pants when he was in time out. :sad2: Some days it's a miracle that we all have survived the day are are in one piece when Ken gets home. :upsidedow
:wizard: Good luck this weekend! I'm embarrassed to admit my 6 year old still pees his pants. I'm pretty sure it is a control thing.:scared: I guess the only good thing is that he only does it at home.:sad2:

Looks like we dodged the weather bullet once again, the sun is out and there is no wind, thanks for all the PD!

Bernadette, love the TR so far, your kids are such cuties, the picture of Emma sleeping at the table is priceless. Can't wait for more installments, and I hope we can get together in November. I am rethinking our decision not to attend any of the Christmas parties, just because of the lights on the castle, there are three parties while we are there, one is the first party which we attended last year that was waaaaaay too crowded, and the other is a Friday night, which I think we would avoid also, but that leaves the one in the middle . . . . . . . .decisions :confused3
I was so happy when I saw the weather report on the news this morning!!!!

Could you plan to tentatively go to a party but wait to buy your tickets after you are already there? The only party we'll be there for is the first one and I think Lizzy will enjoy the Osborne Lights which also start that night just as much.

I'll have to send you my color coded matrix of fun so you can see our plans and see if they match up with your plans at all. What are your dates again?

I still need to email your my photos too!

Bernadette,
Great report so far!!!! Your kids are so sweet. I told my guys we maybe down at WDW again next August & they all wanted to know if your kids were going to be there too.
Thanks! We would really love to see you guys again! I know my kids would really love to spend more time with your kids!!!!!

The Jet Blue rates for April came out yesterday...$349 each way!!! :scared1: :scared:

Looks like we are driving to the cruise!!!!!
:scared1: When would you have to leave if you drive? I looked up Boston to MCO and the rates were lower on the Thursday before vacation and much lower on the Wednesday before. I still haven't decided when to go with Emma but I'm thinking the first full week in May. I would have to buy a one way ticket now if we choose to go the last week in April as we would come home in May and Jet Blue's schedule isn't open that far out yet.

In a related matter.....I got my Jet Blue Amex bill yesterday. The late fee was only $30. I was thinking it would be at least $39 maybe closer to $50 but the finance fee was $49. After I pay this bill they will transfer 70 points. It is 100 points for a free ticket and I already have 54 points from flights. I should be able to get either a free ticket for May or maybe 2 free ones for next August.

The new property manager is almost certainly the one we had at our old property, and her standards are lax at best. She was kind enough to lease to our old next door neighbors, who prompted us to move out! They were rude, noisy, messy, and shot illegal fireworks off their patio. I complained about them almost every single day and she did NOTHING. I called the police, and still those people kept right on doing what they were doing. I dreaded coming home every day because they were HORRIBLE. So we moved. We were in the middle of our lease but since we transferred to another property with the same owners we weren't penalized. The people with the yappy dogs aren't bad, but they are just here short-term while they remodel their house. Which means another roll of the dice when they move out. We have been so lucky I am sure we are in for bad neighbors now.:scared:
:wizard: Good luck with new neighbors!:wizard:

I heard that on the news this morning and immediately thought of you breathing a sigh of relief.

After a quick “rest” at the hotel and change of clothes to our pirate shirts we headed to the Magic Kingdom for the Princess & Pirate Party. We started with dinner at the Crystal Palace with Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore. The characters were fun and the food & service were outstanding as always. We forgot the pictures Lizzy drew at the airport but we had breakfast with them a few days later.

After dinner we met Pirate Goofy & Pluto and did one loot line for both beads and chocolate-the chocolates didn’t do well in the nearly 100 degree temp.

Last year Joe & Emma rode pirates one time but then wouldn’t go again. I told them we had to ride it during the P&PP and they enjoyed it and did it again later in the week. Emma had a great coping method of growling at any “evil” pirates that scared her. We rode Aladdin’s Flying Carpets and found another loot line for just beads. We rode Big Thunder Mountain-Emma’s first time and she loved it-Joe & Lizzy rode in the last car of the train and loved the extra bounce from back there. We found a good spot for the special parade in Frontier Land. The parade was really great. The highlight was seeing Tinker Bell. This girl was absolutely perfect-her mannerisms were exactly what you’d expect from Tink.

Bernadette - I was quite certain the back car on BTMRR was going to kill me. I'm glad the kids liked it!:rotfl2:
I'm glad the credit card fee wasn't as bad as you feared! Our late fee was $20.
Yay for a new roof & screen door! I hope they finish the work quickly!

The guys who are moving our neighbor have quite the challenge. The building is configured kind of weird. It's 3 floors, with upper & lower parking. BUT the way the stairs go it isn't very accessible. The lady below us has stairs that go down to the parking garage or up to our door. Her moving truck is too tall to go in the garage. The guys have to carry her stuff UP the stairs to our door, swing around, walk across the front balcony, swing that corner, then go DOWN the stairs in front of the yappy dogs' door to the upper deck parking lot.:scared: I hope they are charging her a boatload of money. I also hope they don't drop anything over the balcony railing or it will fall 3 floors down.

My friend Terry from FL is a physics prof so I believe her when she says that is where you get the biggest bounce. The kids thought they were going to be in the front and were disappointed when it was the rear til I told them that was the "best" ride.;)

:wizard: YIKES....goodluck to the movers! I've never really moved-just to college then to an apartment with a friend but I only really had a bed and dresser and after just 10 months there I moved to this house that DH's aunt had left a lot of furniture for us. I can not imagine moving now!

Chanon,

Thanks for the airline info the other day, we still came up with basically the same fares, her son is in college so no military perks. I told her that she needed to get a reservation made soon as each time we have checked fewer flights are available.

After the parade we found the perfect spot to watch the fireworks in the front of the castle. The girls and I had our photo taken while we waited. Joe was getting tired and wanted to leave but I told him we were going to watch the fireworks. He was in Emma’s stroller so he was nice and comfy. We had the perfect view to watch Tinker Bell fly from the castle. When she didn’t fly at the beginning of the fireworks like she normally does I thought she wouldn’t be part of the special fireworks but instead she flew in the middle of the program and it was really quite spectacular. The kids were very excited to see her. In some of the photos you can see the pirate skull projected on the castle. After the fireworks we found a bench to relax on while we let crowds disperse a bit before we left the park. The girls wanted to do a few rides but Joe was quite miserable so we left-getting one last pirate family photo before we left the park.

We had movers when we moved in here. They had to come up the stairs, around the corner, and then down to our door. But getting in our front door is a very sharp right, with the stairs going down to the garage not too far from the front door. It was also pouring rain when we moved in.:sad2: We tipped our movers generously.

I don't know what we will do when this lease is up. We would prefer to rent a duplex or a house. We'll never own anything in this area, but renting another sort of dwelling would be good. Especially if we have horrible neighbors beside and below!:scared:

Bernadette,

I ran some prices 2 days on either side of our planned dates & they are still too high. Our cruise leaves 4/20 (sat) so we are booked at the port (marriott) for saturday night. I figure we can leave Friday & drive friday & saturday. Coming home we are looking at leaving 8/28 (mon) & driving mon & tues. I am not thrilled with it but we have a dvd for the car & the kids have their gameboys. Its either we drive or we don't go unfortunately. I don't want to push the matter either as I want to go again in August. :rolleyes1

I should have warned you about those questions. ;) I'm glad that your experience was good. Mine on the other hand was not. My kids were awful and this teacher is going to be about the same as the last two we've had. I still haven't decided the best way to handle it but I'm not thrilled to say the least. We were leaving when you were coming in that's why you didn't see me. Probably wasn't the best thing to introduce me then anyway because I was super mad and I wouldn't want to give Bob the impression that I'm like that. I'm only like that half the time. Mostly the half that my kids are home. :rotfl2:
